    Plenty of players have looked completely different in different circumstances/teams. I will give Jan the benefit of the doubt in the Villa shirt.

    Just a hunch. Although we are a shambles to players are still fighting. Once that changes then it is as good as done. Until then I think he gets some time.

    Dendoncker aside from having the worst name around actually makes some sense. I don't like it and it aint flashy but I can see it being a worthwhile signing. Imagine the scenes if Stevie G trots out a double pivot of Kamara and Dendoncker with Buendia in front of them and Coutinho/Bailey on the wings behind Watkings ... and we still suck

    I don't agree. It states Suarez was a short term solution and he is the only "30-35yr" old mentioned. It also talks about buying youth in there if I am not mistaken. Don't get me wrong I don't necessarily believe it but I like to look at opposing views.

    I don't want any more future stars or bargains for 23 year olds. We are not Brighton or Southampton - we have the financial might to do a lot better and we as fans have been openly told to expect more and raise the standard. What happened to the exciting summer? Whatever you think about Gerrard he has been openly talking about a midfielder (as has everyone on this forum) yet nothing has been done. While I agree that a new manager would potentially do a whole lot better with this squad I don't have a lot of faith left in the club to sign the right players at the right time.

    A twitter thread pointing the finger at Lange. Take it with a grain of salt but I can see a thread of bad or unnecessary transfers going back to the end of Dean's reign and it would certainly explain a lot.

    I would love nothing more than this to all turn around. I think the fans need to see something in the performances to get on board otherwise things are going to get very ugly.

    I know we all hate Gerrard but questions have to be asked with regard to the transfers. Kamara and Diego look to be great buys but we have so far failed to provide sufficient improvement to the squad and it looks much the same as it did at the end of last year. We are in desperate need for a midfield starter and have been for some time. We could end up with almost 0 net spend with the way things are going.

    He has signed a lot of players that don't seem good enough regardless of who has been in charge. However, I don't seem him as much of a problem at the moment.

    From what I can gather this has been the plan. SG has openly suggested looking for a midfielder and even hinted to the captain being a new signing. I think we are struggling as we have no one with the mentality needed for the new philosophy and expectations. Everyone is playing scared. (This is of course ignoring SG and the management and all the bad shit as I don't want to think of it in this thread of dreams and speculation)

    No to Rodgers please - he has a clear ceiling and is insufferable. If we sack Gerrard then Poch it is IMO.
