  1. Guys it is nice to be excited about Villa for the first time in a long time. There will be plenty of time for rational discussion and moaning about so and so not being able to control the ball after the weekend game. Until then let us enjoy this moment. We have hired a manager worth being excited about.
  2. Bailey might be in for similar treatment. His off the ball work is sub par and he often gives away possession too easily. Great going forward when it clicks.
  3. Yeah he certainly posted it first. Has also been right about a lot of things and a good chat about the goings on.
  4. So we have definitely approached Poch (Telegraph) and possibly looking at Amorim (All other sources) Jim says its done and to be announced on Tuesday. Hmmmm
  5. Why no AVB? Despite the weird ending at OM he did quite well there utilising two of our current squad. He appears to be tactically astute no?
  6. McGinn should be in a 10 or somewhere higher up like he does for Scotland. Dougie and someone as the 2 midfielders
  7. 3 at the back makes sense. anything to shake it up a bit it has been so dross as of late
  8. You will be hard pressed to find anyone who is content right now.
  9. He literally played them together hence you have video evidence of it in your post. JFC
  10. Konsa will be there. He had a good game on the weekend and could be working his way back into some form. Otherwise I think we go with this. Rumours that we tried to sign Kondogbia on deadline day - Dendoncker looks the be able to fill a similar role.
  11. Reasonable debate here? In this thread? A welcome change.
  12. I feel they are trying to play him into for which isn't working at all. Much better without him on the field. Hopefully he can get some of that spark back. I would even swap he and Ramsey in the original lineup if they insist on keeping him in the team.
  13. Players are still fighting for him. He has made some changes that everyone has been crying out for and gotten the result. Has admitted to somewhat sticking to the long term plan too much and has been quite self reflective. Couldn't ask for much more at this stage.
  14. Good quotes in the mail just now. Talks about leaving some of the flair on the bench and being more pragmatic. Hints at putting the longer term plan somewhat on hold the build a stronger base in the short term. Much of what people on here have been saying.
  15. Got bullied against Arsenal at crucial moments. Did much better today.
  16. How can you be this wrong JFC On another note the players are turning up for him. He clearly hasn't lost the dressing room.
  17. Got a feeling this is going to be a Whelan type signing and he is going to end up integral to a positive run of performances for the team (with Gerrard or without)
  18. It is quiet because there is nothing to say. The sacking will come out of nowhere much like most of our signings. If we see a statement from the board backing him then we know it's probably on the way. Has anyone every survived one of those "we have full confidence" statement?
  19. Could be vital in a number of situations. He is a good player which helps us get results (yeah i know the bench and all). And if a new manager comes in he could have a more substantial role to play.
  20. With Dendoncker coming in I think it free's Dougie up a bit. Hopefully he gets more of a run and gets to push forward.
  21. The Dendoncker signing is interesting and does signal something different may be tried. Either a double pivot or 3 at the back. I think everyone would welcome a different approach and this signing may give us that flexibility that we didn't quite have.
