  1. I am unconvinced we have any interest in Gallagher
  2. Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't there stories about us brining in Caleb to make Chuk feel more comfortable/try to convince him to sign? Either way I am comfortable from the little we know to believe the club has made attempts to get him signed (Oct 21 is a long time ago) and that for his own reasons Chuk is looking elsewhere. Seems the best for everyone that he moves on. West Ham having the same problem with that Perkins lad - it happens.
  3. Kamara signed for Marseille at the same age Carney is now so we can stop posting his photo. Carney clearly isn't interested in playing for Villa for whatever reason so he can stay home. Sends a clear message. This isn't some bomb squad situation with a player who hasn't been offered a contract and role in the team - he has been given both and is dragging his heels. Not begrudging him either he is free to do what he wants.
  4. I saw it more as being a bit too eager. Had a few wild challenges to begin with but managed to settle in.
  5. Vintage Watkins today. Didn't look convincing at all.
  6. Like what I saw from Tommi. Played intelligently with his head up and made some nice through balls and link up play.
  7. I have a feeling Bailey isn't going to work out. Tactically he doesn't seem to be comfortable and often just goes 100 miles per hour at goal when he gets the ball.
  8. Chrisene is nowhere near ready for the first team. Young fills a gap but is not ideal on the defensive side of things. Good cover signing in my opinion.
  9. Why the fvck are we reading random Liverpool fans on Twitter's opinion on players? It's not even a tactical analysis just a complete sh!t take Otavio would improve the midfield but doesn't get me excited tbh.
  10. Suck eggs haters - guess who is still the manager?
  11. That's the optimistic take for sure.
  12. Gerrard demands a higher quality player than Smith/Bruce. It is influenced by where the club was/is at with each manager but I believe there is a point to be made there.
  13. Bizarre. Everyone is responding to your post about Tielemans and AVFC because well.... that is what you posted about. Not sure why you are so upset over it?
  14. I think we need to pump the breaks a little here. I hope he gets the chance to impress however many have looked good at this level only to fail to push on and become a premier league starter.
  15. Of course. It is just a bit of a running joke in the tactics/gerrard threads. I am quite the fan of the 4231 that was in vogue not long ago.
  16. Another double pivot post. Another puppy has died.
  17. I feel for him but I do enjoy when things don't work out for the Toon. They signed Targett and this chap ain't going to work out.
  18. Haha multiple people have pulled you up but you still can't see it. You said Chelsea/Arsenal would kill to have Ollie/Ings in their teams. When someone pointed out that they may not want them due to already having high profile strikes (and the ability to sign them) you asked "And how is that working out for them?". In response myself and others have pointed out that Ollie/Ings haven't "worked out" well for us therefore calling into question why these teams would "kill" for them as you said. I am sorry that I had to do this.
  19. Ollie and Ings haven't exactly been setting the world on fire with their play this season either. Hence we are probably looking for a striker.
  20. Weirdly I have more affection for Trez than Targett at this stage. Not even sure why - maybe because he was clearly all in (including the diving which I hate) and was key to us staying up. Isn't good enough for us but wish him all the best.
  21. Grow up children it's 2022.
  22. They play different roles even if they are positioned next to each other. Guendouzi pushes on as he has done next to Kamara at time for OM.
  23. I was on the fence about him holding out and taking his time but he clearly is angling for a move to Arsenal. Don't blame him with regard to what stages both projects are at. However, I now hope he never gets his move there and is forced to stay with Brighton as they do a Burnley and fire Harry Potter during a regular down spell and then get relegated. Just because I am a childish sports fan.
  24. I can certainly see what you are saying but I don't entirely agree. I think we have become so used to managers being tactical geniuses that we have devalued the other parts of the job. By all accounts Gerrard knows his weaknesses and rightly hires the appropriate help. However, he still seems very engaged and involved on a day to day basis. Maybe Ferguson is a good shout actually but I don't think the director of football tag fits. They are managers in the truest sense of the word. Either way I find it quite encouraging that the structure and plan seems quite obvious - something we have been missing for a long time. Really ties the club together from top to bottom.
