I have enjoyed laughing at the Maguire show for the last few years however he would suit Emery's style for sure. He thrived at Leicester.

I remain unconvinced. Looks average aside from moments - needs more consistency. Has a similar thing to Ollie in that if there isn't an obvious pass/move to be made he holds it too long and often loses it or runs into a dead end. Hopefully he improves with the current coaching etc.

Judging by the links so far (their accuracy being unknown but assuming they have some legitimacy) it appears that speed is a priority and possibly the ability to beat a man. Sarr/Deulofeu/Merino all fit this remit as do other more tenuous links (Thuram/Danjuma).

Neither McGinn or Buendia do that hence they are inverted in the set up. Also neither are wingers.

We looked rusty and lacking a bit of confidence from the off. However, we dominated Pool at times and it was clear what the plan was. Let down by some player performances too.

Regardless of what is out there Ollie just isn't quite good enough (work rate aside) and I suspect we sign someone who on the face of it isn't better than Ollie but fits specifically into what Emery wants. I suspect a similar situation for a winger/wide midfielder.

You are making some correct points - Martinez has not been at his best this season. However, I fear you are being blinded by your dislike of the guy and are drawing too many conclusions. He is the best keeper we have had in a very long time and is vital to this team as he showed in 21/22. I wouldn't be surprised if he became captain in the future.

Martinez for president. His actions are shithousery and the ref should have done something about it however they aren't anything like the regular shit that goes on in the sport and boundaries are meant to be pushed. Notice how the French don't seem overly concerned with it? (Unless I have missed something)

Ollie gets caught between going 1 on 1 and holding it up and ends up losing it time after time. He has limited ability 1 on 1 and little to no confidence to do so. His workrate is class but I fear he isn't up to the level we need - so many attacks end up with him running down and alley and tripping over himself or getting a weak shot off into a defender.

We will be playing out from the back a majority of the time. Emery likes to create the triangle between CB-FB-CM to play around/through opposition press. Villareal Vs Bayern was a great example of this.

Your post frequency is outweighing the humour you bring. On topic - this would be a massive coup and something I feel the owners have been trying to pull off for some time. Coutinho wasn't the statement signing they wanted as he is well past it. Odds on this coming off are probably low however I am open to it being a possibility. I think we see some fun signings in Jan - I get the impressed that the owners will be more open to splashing the cash for Unai than previous managers due to his pedigree.
