  1. You can see why Paul Lambert thought he wasn't ready for the Premier League. At this level it's about making absolutely no mistakes, not even a single one, as just one mistake could be enough to cost you the whole game like we have seen over the past few matches. He appears to make the same kind of mistakes that David Luiz makes, ie. charging out for the ball with wild abandon and leaving space for opponents to exploit in the end aka going AWOL. We all know how Luiz has been crtitised for that before.
  2. Potentially season / relegation fight defining moment again.
  3. Sinclair has shown the occasional flashes of brilliance but when not doing that has the tendency to go missing and offer nothing. Bacuna would be more consistently seen and also has the potential for the occasional brilliance.
  4. Looks like Doug Ellis sold the club to the wrong person after all. If this fool thinks he can take an entity that is a worldwide known football club as his own personal plaything, he might as well rename the club "Randy Villa" or some shit, like how he changed our badge to some hideous, kiddish drawing. Now I realise why the Americans used to mock him and his ineptness for his other sports team, baseball or something, that were floundering and worse off under him. He is just a clueless spoilt brat living on daddy's money and worse, throwing it all away by being such a dumbass. What a good for nothing person - I'm sure his dad is proud of him. In my country and many others we despise such losers and wastrels.
  5. I think you should go notice that we are now 19th, 1 place worse than we started. They might not have won but they gained a point, which is more than we could, and are going above us. Many here won't find Vlaar suspended a negative. Evidently doesn't want to be here anymore and won't be bothered if we went down. His time here is effectively over. They will fight unlike us. Burnley just gained a point against Chelsea. What would we do? Lose as usual (due to Delph and his inept joke clearance). It is us getting whooped every week and they are getting points. They play us and they'll outfight us easily to win too. We're going down.
  6. Vlaar single handedly cost us a point. No two ways about it. Except ... there are two ways. Two ways would be you clutching at straws or being deluded. The game was headed for a draw. It would have lifted us to 17th, and seeing that would bring renewed confidence and fight that a corner has been turned or we start to move up now. Then he made the mother of all mistakes and even compounded it. Now we have a polar opposite, world of difference as we are even worse off than we started. Any feel good factor is lost, confidence emptying even more, and any hope seems about gone. Strange how a single point works but that single point could mean the difference between staying up and going down. If there was a moment that could define a season or the season hinges on, that would be it. He didn't just cost a point. He could have jolly well cost the entire season and Premier League status.
  7. The WORST thing about that corner was that not only did it hit the first man, but it actually bounced before the first man. There was the attempted cross as well that he went to chase for the loose ball heading to the corner / byline. He might as well not bother if the cross looked absolutely no different from how a Stoke clearance would have looked like. It was that bad.
  8. Joke. You talk like QPR and Burnley are FIFA opponents on beginner mode or a bunch of girls. Both of them will be fighting with every thing they've got unlike us and win. Easily. We're going down.
  9. Come now he was named in the best 11 at the world cup. Problem is he keeps getting injured and I wonder just how fit he is. And Messi was the best player of the world cup. Even if he did have a good world cup, that's because it's in comparison with his usual form. Slightly above-average defender at best who just had good form in that month. That's all.
  10. Next week is when they start their upward streak.
  11. 5-0 today. All set for Newcastle to vent their frustrations on us next week and set their recent problems right. Guzan Hutton Okore Clark Richardson(if fit) Westwood/Cleverley Delph Bacuna Gil Sinclair Given (all our strikers are shit anyway)
  12. This. I thought our squad was decent enough but I'm starting to think I was wrong. They barely looked like they'd ever played with each other today (or barely played football for that matter). I'm not sure where the notion that our squad shouldn't be where they are, shouldn't be fighting relegation, should be higher than where we are etc is coming from. This squad has basically been fighting relegation for years and suddenly this season they shouldn't actually be doing so? I think it's just some bullshit excuse concocted in order to pin the blame on Lambert so there is another reason to get him out.
  13. I for one didn't think we deserve to lose. A draw was probably fair and that was exactly where it was heading. But somehow we still contrived to lose. Not for the first time. It's precisely for such reasons that I think we have a real chance of going down.
  14. Probably one of our most overrated players for me. Personally I've never rated him more than mediocre at all. What has he done for us exactly? Some good goals yes, but I believe he comes up with as many cock ups in equal measure, if not more. How many goals we lost were due to him? Assisting the opponent? Giving the ball away cheaply for no reason and we concede? Found wanting and we concede? Numerous. Easily far outnumbers the goals and assists he has contributed for us. Today some are saying he was at fault for Stokes equaliser. Haven't noticed it yet but will have another look.

    set pieces

If a team is shit in open play, it stands to reason they are shit players in general. Our set pieces illustrate exactly that. Weimann doesn't even resemble a football player, and it showed exactly in his corner. Couldn't even strike a ball properly. Gil seems average at best so far, although against Hull he had a shocker like the rest of the team. Delph is overrated, like the player himself. For his supposed calibre, with the percentage of his corners that can't even get off the ground or beat the first man, you'd never guess he was actually sought after by a team or by England. Westwood or Cleverley are no better than Delph. But at least they aren't as bigged up as he is. Bacuna would probably be the best bet for consistency in quality, but he lacks game time. Currently Sinclair looks like he could at least provide something a fair amount of times.
  16. Passes the ball backwards as much as anyone in the team. Every time he touches the ball he looks to get rid of it as soon as possible. On average how long does the balls stick with him now? Mostly 1 touch: to flick the ball somewhere else, or he is just bundled over by an opponent while they easily relieve him of the ball. Pathetic. The times where he could have gotten hold of the ball and ran at opponents with it or something similarly meaningful, he just looks to tiki taka it so the opportunity is closed and we need to carve out another one. Breaks down as many of our attacks as Gabby or Weimann would with their ineptitude.
  17. I'm not happy with him either but dont talk utter nonsense like that. Maybe you can tell me then whether Messi actually lit the world cup or was he distinctively average. There was a reason why there was an outcry over him winning the best player of the tournament. Get attuned with events and your facts right before you dis something off as utter nonsense. Right so Vlaar shone at the World Cup in 7 matches because Messi was "average" and that is relevant because they played each other in one game? Faultless logic there, congratulations. You really know your football. He is being overhyped just because he managed to keep a certain Messi quiet in that match. Overhyped because he had a good world cup. Was Holland's performance all down to him though? I'm pretty sure Holland in general played well and stood out even at the other end of the pitch. It's easy to look good when your whole team in general is playing well. Let's not forget that world cup aside, he has been in general a disappointment for most of us. He was part of a defence that was constantly poor last few seasons and conceded records numbers of goals, losing to even the likes of Bradford (yes, crucial goals they scored to knock us out were due to him losing out once again). It's not a surprise he won't be anywhere near highly regarded by us when compared to the likes of Laursen or Mellberg. He won't even be a patch on them. So you want logic and knowledge of football? My analysis is that he shining at the world cup isn't exactly because he's a brilliant defender.
  18. It is strange that our best player is always constantly the newest addition to our squad. It was the same with Gil, and Sanchez earlier on in the season. Give him a few more games for him to match our level. Coming from Man City, it's natural he's too good for us at the moment.
  19. Going full circle to back to what he was when he first started out. Miles off the pace, never near the opponent or the ball. Did nothing except to give away the ball and fouls. Constantly beaten on both the ground and in the air. The good moves he made, tackles or decent passes, could be counted with one hand, which is nowhere near good enough.
  20. Some here thinking he was "otherwise rock solid" need to get a shrink for STM loss for I remember this too. He was just pointing at Diouf and then proceeding to mark space instead of taking responsibility and picking the man up. Not the first time he has been found wanting aerially. Today's loss largely down to him being very poor defensively for me.

  22. "the players we have shouldn't be fighting relegation" No not really true. Not really at all.
  23. At fault for the first goal, gave away the second goal. Not captain material one bit. Just leave. The only reason why he shone at the World Cup was that his opponents like Messi were terribly off form during that period.
  24. Stoke getting smashed for the second game running. Good chance to take advantage of this
  25. Hi Aston Villa, if the **** word removed Paul Lambert remains the **** manager by the time the next Premier League game comes around, you are **** relegated as far as I'm concerned, and you would have CHOSEN for it to happen, you **** spineless, gutless club.
