  1. I did not read his comments as trying to diminish the sport. So not ‘clearly’. In fact could you not argue that it’s the opposite of sexist - To believe that the women’s international team ought to be capable of out performing the men at a much higher level than Sunday league? What’s boring? The discussion about how good the women can realistically get? I put it to you, at what level do u think the women ought to be able to beat the men by 2030?
  2. You’re still missing the point. A good Sunday league team WOULD probably turn over the england women’s team. He’s not saying the women’s game is pointless because of this fact.
  3. But that’s not what he’s saying tho is it? He’s not saying that tier 40 men’s team would beat top tier women’s teams - so it’s pointless. What he’s saying is that you would think the quality of the tactics/technique would be better for what is the pinnacle of the women’s game - with the majority of the participants now having enjoyed entire childhoods in the game. Women’s tennis is technically brilliant, and if power could be taken out of the equation, they’d probably give the men a good game. His observation is valid, but I must say, the game has come on in leaps and bounds in just a few years. It was unwatchable particularly with goalkeepers being a total farce, and now it is rather enjoyable - well worthy of attending/televising. A few more years and this will be a very polished product. There are already some very very talented players. Just not enough of them, yet.

    Penalties…

What a penalty. Under so much pressure too. One of the cleanest strikes I’ve seen.
  5. I’ve been back and re read what you wrote. My bad, you make a good point.
  6. I’m not saying saying it’s a bad move. But making out like Monchi invented the buy back clause is a bit of of a stretch, no?
  7. I get that we’re happy to have him, but come on. Every man and his dog have heard about a buy back clause, it’s not like some genius move move only the great Monchi would have thought of. How about flipping this on its head? if Monchi wasn’t here, no way would we deal of departing with one of the most promising 20yr olds in the country for a fee of £1m more that what we paid for Nakamba… This is not a situation where Monchi needs his balls licking.
  8. I don’t think you’re understanding the concept of a buy back clause

  10. I don’t disagree with your point about deserving success, or having brilliant supporters.
  11. Oh the irony. If not being able to ignore other people’s comments or opinions is a reason for ‘the internet not being for you’ then I suggest you take a little bit of your own advice - and log off.
  12. A beautiful answer. The most important thing to understand is that not everyone is the same, which leads on to the fact that everyone’s judgement upon others is flawed. if we were all born the same then surely we would fail as a species? For every go-getter, you need a level headed person that likes to maintain status quo. For every adventurer we need someone who is frightened of change. Risk needs balance, there is no doubt. But to put everyone into one box and claim something for them is not life-changing is naive. For one of my friends being able to afford a hair transplant for a couple of grand would be - in his mind - life changing. Who are we to make judgement on what is life changing for someone? To say thag Hendersons salary going from £3m to £30m is NOT life changing is being short sighted. Maybe, he wants to take a flight to the moon. And this would now mean he could afford it. Maybe he could now afford to buy a house in the most prestigious part of the world, which at even £3m a year was out of his reach? Maybe he has debts that we don’t know about, failed businesses, or poor investments which meant that he was on the verge of losing everything? This sudden windfall might have literally been life-saving let alone life changing? maybe some really don’t see the life of luxury as being something they want or understand. I would venture a guess that they are in the tiny minority amongst the vast majority who spend every moment at work in the hope of making their own, and their loved ones, lives that little bit more comfortable - in whatever form they perceive that comfort to be. Whether it be getting 3 meals on the table instead of 2, or upgrading their 10 bedroom mansion in london to a private island in the Indian Ocean.
  13. How do YOU know it isn’t life changing? the only person who can decide that is HIM
  14. No I get the ‘life changing’
  15. Exactly. imagine if someone increased @bobzy salary from £40k to £400k He wouldn’t be saying any of this. And I’ll pre-emptively answer the ‘but 40k is not £3m a year’. £40k a year to someone else would be an absolute fortune that they couldn’t understand why you’d ever need any more. (I have no idea how much @bobzy earns. It’s a wild guess.)
  16. Lol. do u have more than two pairs of socks? one on your feet and one in the wash?
  17. So many people in here not understanding human psyche. It’s human nature to just want MORE. It’s what makes us advance. What if we were just content with what we have all the time? ’why would anyone want to run a hundred metres under 10 seconds. What’s the point? 10.01 seconds is plenty fast enough.’ ’why do you want to fly, walking gets you most places you’d ever need to go.’ ’why do you want 2 cars? One is plenty.’ ’why do you want to eat any more than a single potato? It’s enough to satisfy your hunger.’ Why do we need cars that can go faster than 70mph? Why do we need designer clothes - a towel covers you up just fine. why do we need to go to the moon? The bottom of the ocean? Why do we need to make more and more powerful telescopes? The answer to all these questions is you don’t NEED any of this. If most of humanity shared the thoughts of some of you lot in here, we’d never advance as a species. We’d all still be walking around in the same place because ‘I’ve got everything I need right here.’ its Human nature to want the most that you can possibly get. And that’s what drives us forward.
  18. Even if you are in the uk you can appear to be not in the uk. Where is the replay available? I’m also interested
  19. I’m not really sure what to say. Let me examine the picture and I’ll get back to you in due course.
  20. Baileys first game he was electric - a real player. Cant help but think the injury/fitness was the bigger problem than lack of ability.
