    I know we had the great Carabao cup win against them last season, but let’s not sugarcoat it - they pumped us both times in the league!! Im not expecting a win, but I’m expecting a much better showing than the rubbish back in March, and would be happy with a draw.

    I’m still just buzzing. I’m so happy for Dean, he had a lot of doubters (myself included) and he is proving us all wrong. He has remained calm throughout, and has improved the team significantly these last 4 months. Of course we have been one of the biggest winners from COVID/lockdown both from the break and financially this summer, but Dean has took the ball and ran with it. Dean Smith’s Tricky Villans UTV!!

    If I have to debate why Liverpool in a league game is a free swing, I think I’m done before I’ve started.

    I’d start him on Sunday against Liverpool. I’m sure it’s not the approach that DS would take, but I’d blood him properly in that match as it’s a free swing, especially after winning the first 2 games. More likely start against Stoke and another cameo on Sunday.

    I think he’s a decent defender in the right league. His lack of pace over 5-10 yards and the fact that he turns like a bus make him a liability it the PL.

    I’m not saying we’ll sign him, but I have a sneaky feeling that a bid will go in nearer the end of the window for him. Celtic are being forced to sell him due to COVID , they obviously want as much as they can get for him but as time goes on they will be forced to take a lower offer. (All in my opinion of course)

    This is the one I really want to happen! I’m certain this guy is going to be dynamite in the PL, he’s quick and he’s got a great shot on him.

    Just a bit concerned about our expenditure. My understanding is that this year and last years will be combined as ‘one’ year and then put with the 2 years previous to that for the rolling 3 year average?

    I think we’ve got Jack for 1 more year. If he can produce similar numbers this season to last season then we’ll get the £75m-£80m that we want for him, and we will balance the books for FFP from this season’s big spend imo.

    I agree Jas. This could be similar to the Van Dijk situation, and we need to make ourselves the Southampton in that situation imo.
