  1. They're just selfish, putting 'me' in front of everything. Oh, and if anyone does have a decent knowledge of German, please check out the last post on the previous page - I don't want it to get missed!
  2. Anyone with a knowledge of German fancy helping me out? I'm trying to translate a letter (English into German) for a friend at work who wants to write to a distant German relative. I have a basic knowledge of German from A-level (three years ago now) and am struggling with certain parts. Firstly, they want to open the letter with 'This is your cousin Beth from England'. In a letter situation, I'm unsure how to put that. I've got 'Hier schreibt Ihre Kusine Beth aus England' but I'm not sure about it. There are also smaller aspects, such as whether to use 'Sie' (I've decided to, being as they haven't been in touch in years apparently) and how to finish the letter, etc. At the moment I'm going with 'Mit besten Grüßen'. Help would be appreciated, didn't want to start a new thread though!
  3. Källström's hardly the quickest! And he's only just over a couple of years younger than Petrov. I'd still have liked to have seen us sign him though, purely because we share a first name!
  4. Depending on signings (both our own and the teams' around us) I'm going to say seventh at the moment. Won't vote until the end of the transfer window.
  5. What's the weather like in Dreamland at this time of year?
  6. Wow, you really overrate the lad :winkold:
  7. Finally read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas recently. Absolutely fantastic book. Ordered The Rum Diary yesterday. Talking of Kafka, The Metamorphosis is brilliant. I have a book of his short stories and shall read more over summer.
  8. This thread is really interesting to me as I'm seriously looking into doing the same with my lady friend, specifically in South Korea. We're looking at doing it after we complete our degrees next summer, but were somewhat put off recently when reading of the scams, and also the difficulty in finding somewhere where we could both teach and live together etc. How difficult did you find this, Wainy?
  9. There is absolutely no chance of Villa signing Khedira.
  10. I think Ramos is a relatively good player, but it seems he may be replaced if Real sign Maicon.
  11. I've got Moon but haven't watched it yet. I read Matt Berry is in it - does he feature much, and is his role serious?
  12. Indeed. It's away, too. At least he'll get it out of the way quickly, I suppose!
  13. Sounds like an easy link to make with Benítez being at Inter. I saw Chelsea linked to him this morning, but I have a feeling he'll stay for a year and then move either back to Spain, or to Man City for the £££ (if they qualify for the Champions League next season).
  14. I totally agree. Only issue with Bentley is his mentality. If MON can work with that and bring the best out of him he'd be a great player for Villa This. I think Bentley is a much better player but doubt he'd be fully focused on his football. I'm not a big SWP fan and am not sure we carry him in our midfield. He'd probably want astronomical wages, too.
  15. I don't think it's as simple as having a choice between promising players and experienced ones. There's much more to it than that. I'd lean towards experience, but I wouldn't like to see us spend a lot of money on players who are 30+ years old. And if we had the option to sign a truly outstanding young prospect for the same kind of fee as a decent, experienced player, I'd probably rather see us go for the younger player. It all depends on who we're talking about in particular, and the money involved.
  16. Alright then, I'll be the one. How?
  17. Exactly BOF. You should still support the football club, even if you are unhappy with the way it's being managed.
  18. I have wifi. It is 1910, you know.
  19. People won't be happy either way. They keep it similar, and some are happy with the more 'classic', traditional look of the shirt. Others will be annoyed because it's not changed that much, meaning they will moan and often extend their argument by saying' the club expects me to pay £45 to buy a shirt that's almost the same as last year'. They make noticable changes, and some are happy with the new look, whereas others are displeased with the changes and prefer a traditional, simplistic style.
  20. I tried to tell my girlfriend this joke a while back. No matter what I said, I couldn't get her to ask 'What's a duck do?' It was a very stressful experience for the both of us.
