I've stuck a quid on Agbonlahor first scorer in a 2-1 Villa win. Will certainly be a tough match though; I wouldn't want to put any larger amount of money on a Villa victory! Providing we're defensively solid, though, we should be able to break them down (with patience).

Did anyone actually say that?! Well half the posters were asking for carew to be taken off, and the other half for heskey to be taken off and shot....so collectively yes. Yes, and there were at least a couple saying that both should be brought off. I argued that having Delfouneso up front on his own wouldn't work. Not that it matters now. Good times!!

There was everyone saying MON should take both strikers off and bring on Delfouneso! I also had a cheeky pound on a Carew hat-trick today, so was delighted when the penalty flew in! Woo! Semi-finals here we come!

I don't see how Milner would be brought into the game more by playing the Fonz up front on his own. There's no chance he'll be able to hold off their defenders.

brommy, you're misunderstanding the original post. Paddy's asking if the origins of the expression 'shed load' - such as 'That guy has a shed load of crack' - comes from the expression used in reference to a lorry (for example) shedding its load, or just the idea of a (garden) shed full of stuff.

Interesting one, never really thought about it. Like you, I just assumed it was referring to a shed full of stuff.

Got the goals when we needed to and looked superior for most of the match. Fairly sloppy in both the opening and closing stages but I'll certainly take 5-2!

I can see why people are annoyed that Young isn't playing at right back, but maybe MON's playing Cuellar so that we're more threatening from corners? He's surely more likely to actually score a goal than Luke Young, even if he's less likely to have a hand in creating one.

Going down to this one with a mate who's never been to a match before. He's a Chelsea fan but I think he's adopted Villa as his second team now! Any ideas on attendance? I'm assuming it'll be between 20-25k?

I agree with this. Ticket prices at VP are very competetive and generally good value for money; however, I'm struggling this year (currently in my second year of university). I've had a season ticket for the previous two seasons - as soon as I passed my test and got a car, I made sure I had a ST in the Holte. I struggle more, particularly now that I'm 21, as I no longer qualify as 'young adult'. I just can't afford the ticket prices and the travel (bear in mind Villa students will go to universities all across the country, therefore travel expenses can be very high). I'm really gutted about this, too, as it looks like I won't get a cup final ticket this year - if we get there - after spending a significant chunk of my money following the club over the past couple of years, as I just haven't been able to attend games this season. I'm not saying that it's not fair, I just can't help being bitterly disappointed. Otherwise, great job General. Words cannot describe how proud I am to have you, Randy and MON at the helm! (You're certainly much more helpful than some of our rivals' [now former!] directors - short article here in case you haven't seen this!)
