Happy Friday, everyone. What are your plans? I've got a monster curry on the go (I've only just started it so methinks it may take a while) and I've got a bottle of vodka (not just any vodka but an "Absolut London" bottle that's been staring me in the face ever since somebody gave me a bottle as a gift. Today seems right ). Other than that, I've decided to go through the whole Only Fools and Horses box set. Rock and Roll.

I dashed back to Portsmouth today from London (leaving work early) as I had a bit of a panic that somehow I've missed a payment on a credit card (which is also in a payment plan so need to keep up the payments or account goes into default. Defaults are kind of "iffy" in my line of work). It turns out, after finding my details here and phoning them up, that my account is actually up to date and that they cocked up by not taking it - and that they don't plan on taking it as I'm in a payment plan so proceed as normal. How bizarre, but BONUS! I also had a bumper wage from work as they've finally paid up the extra hours I was owed so I'm feeling rather flush Massively in debt but rather flush - I'll pretend that I don't owe the debt until tomorrow and then I'll put my serious face on and see which account I should pay more on this month. I've also got to make plans for a wedding, look at getting booked into a hotel etc: My friends who both suffer from cancer have bought their wedding forward to February (sadly my mate is now terminally ill). Other than that, I do believe I may get drunk. Yes, siree!

Having blocked ears. I wake up with ringing in my ears but can't actually hear a lot (and this has been happening for the past week). Damn you wax, damn yoooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!! Time to buy me some earex.

Evening folks, Anybody watching this on Channel 4? I've found myself sat here with tears streaming down my face, not that it is because of the programme itself, but because I know too well about the effects of it and what it could mean to those that are suffering from it and their families. I've personally signed upto £2 a month to Cancer Research UK as it is what I can afford but if you can't afford that then why not pledge a fiver just this once? I don't want to turn this into a "please pledge" thread so if you have any thoughts on the programme then please post them here

It is to yourself and others who are fighting this battle that have my utmost respect. I've mentioned a few times that my mate is too fighting but he his keeping his chin up and I hope that whatever life may through at you during this time that you take heart in knowing that you have good friends and family who care about you very much. All the very best in your battle ahead.

My mate is now in a Marie Curie Centre in Cardiff to try to bring the pain under control. He's struggling a bit They're looking to ease his pain somewhat by having an operation to install a "nerve blocker". Again, not so much as it shouldn't piss me off as it blatantly should. His fiancée (who also suffers from cancer) is bearing up OK thank goodness. I'm watching (and supporting) the Stand Up to Cancer thing on C4 tonight.

Feel like I need cheering up so my viewing this evening: Brilliant film!

Having a heavy cold or flu and having phoned up work to say that I'm not feeling well (I've been in bed for the past 2 days near enough!), the boss remarks "that's a shame getting the flu after your long leave". I didn't plan this. Sat here with the shivers, constant sweat and cough doesn't sound like I'd be doing the office any favours by turning back after leave. I would love to be back in work But no, I'm made to feel guilty.

I've been a few times but a while ago (2007-2008). We sought of stuck around Temple Bar but we loved it! I would love to visit the place again soon. Highlights from the trips: -Seemingly drunk taxi driver calling everyone "chicken" (including bikers who pulled up alongside: "Hello Chicken!") -Seemingly drunk taxi driver whom stuck to his word and picked us up at 7am from the hotel 3 days later and even waited half an hour whilst we remembered, thought "oh shit" and promptly got dressed. Seemingly drunk taxi driver wasn't as drunk as he sounded. -Going to the Guinness Storehouse where once we got to the top, friendly bar dude gave us 2 pints each for "looking like we needed it". -Seeing the "Guinness Ambulance"!! -A road trip out to Sligo. Just as we entered the place, I was dying for a pee, so we dashed for the nearest pub. Walked in and distinctly noticed the strange atmosphere (people looking up from their newspapers, others stopping talking). "Uh Oh" we thought. We ended up having a few pints chatting to the locals asking where we're from etc.

Whenever I visit the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes I buy loads of different cheeses with stuff in (after tasting every one of them of course). My favourite was the clotted cream and strawberry cheese that they had as a special "one off" - it was bloody awesome.

Thanks for the hard work, Simon. It looks great and seems to be running much faster. Would it be possible to offer a few themes though, please? Maybe one with a claret background and one with a blue background to the thread listing? I used to run a vbulletin-based site (very bloated!) but I loved the way you could add lots of themes and users could select the theme from their control panel. (I also liked to enforce really nasty themes on problematic members whom I didn't want to ban . Oooohhh and offer really Christmassy themes in December )
