Yep, I think they are very innovative and I wouldn't be surprised to see them at most "big" events from now on. I don't suppose the infrastructure setup costs are particularly cheap mind.

Yeah, noticed that too. Maybe they noticed a few problems with them or maybe they thought that they were best for the showcase event (opening ceremony). I dunno, but they were certainly cool.

No, they all got rat-arsed after they had finished their events... ...and who could blame them. If I had represented my country in a foreign city hosting the Olympic Games and I was proud of what I had achieved, I would be celebrating like there's no tomorrow. They've done themselves and their country proud - I think it's fair that they let their hair down. I didn't say they shouldn't get drunk. Just bored with this shite of comparing Olympics athletes to footballers... Aye, fair enough.

I have to say that having been a "plastic" Londoner for the past 18 months, I'm so proud. We've put on a hell of a games and it will take some beating.

I think we've witnessed during the past 2 weeks why the Olympics is the greatest sporting show on Earth. I may even shed a tear when the flame is put out later.

There's a huge party going on in NW London - it sounds huge anyway from my flat in Ruislip (it's rather good - there sounds like a fair few people there singing along ). Now either it's an Olympics finishing shindig for people who like to celebrate these things or an athlete or 2 is renting a house I'm half tempted to go and find it and make believe that I know everyone I figure if I call everyone Dave, it'll be fine. It's bloody loud (I'm on the 6th floor of a flat overlooking Ruislip and it's deafening). Some decent music too!
