Hi General, hope the back's a bit better, Just wondered if you're aware of the situation with G14, or what G14 are. Don't mean to patronise you if you're already well aware, but they're 14 of Europe's biggest clubs that look after their own interests. For some reason my computer won't let me copy and paste at the moment so I can't post any info on them, but info is easy to find, infact it seems (after a quick read) they're called G14 and there's actually about 18, go figure. Anyway they're looking to expand and get some more members and I was wondering if we'd looked at trying to join them? They do come in for a lot of stick, as people think they're planning on forming a breakaway league. And I can't say I agree with the whole thing... but that's probably jealousy, if you can't beat em, join em, as the phrase goes, So was just wondering if you and Randy had conidered it or were aware of the situation?

This made me laugh a lot at the time as it went out live on ITV.

Unlucky General, I bet it's reported that they banned you or didn't turn up to avoid controversy or something. You'll just have to wait for April (I think) for the game at VP, it'll be bigger, and better, and you never know we might send them down again

But they probably think better of you for it, whether that's why you do it or not. So you get something out of it because you're seen as a generous person.

We had a thread on this a while back, seems like it's been lost as it was too long ago now. I suggested there was no such thing as a completely selfless act as you ALWAYS get something out of it, no matter what. A selfless act is where the other person/people gets more out of it than you do, and these do exist, but a completely selfless act is where you get nothing out of it at all, no satisfaction, no praise, nothing, and I don't believe this exists.

Just wondering if you saw the England game tonight General? Gareth Barry was fantastic again, Ian Wright in the studio afterwards said that he was his man of the match over the 2 games and the phone in show on BBC Radio 5 after the game seems to all be about Barry and how he should keep players like Lampard and Hargreaves out of the team. He's really done Villa proud these last 2 games, we've always known he's good enough and finally now the rest of the country is realising it.

Was at VP today General, its all looking very impressive and if not quite ready for the new season, love the look of the New Holte (pub), pitch looked in good nick (though no lines as of yet...). Like the new signage around the place as well, not totally finished yet but the new badge certainly looks good up there. Interesting to hear that Randy doesn't like to sit in what used to be the chairman's seat in the directors box because he feels it draws too much attention on him, can't help but like the guy. Don't think I've ever been to Villa Park 2 days in a row before so that'll be good. The woman who does the tours (can't remember her name) is a real credit to the club. I'd highly recommend the tour to anyone by the way, I'll post some pictures in another thread later. They were putting up the new sponsor boards round the pitch today and we were wondering how much that actually increased advertising revenue, is it quite significant or only slight? Also one most quick question for you that doesn't need acting upon, or looking into at all, which makes a change. I was talking to a mate the other day and can't remember how we got onto it (must have been quite bored!) but we wondered what Randy called you, everyone here calls you General, but I assume Randy doesn't...

Good article, agree with mosst of it. Koumas has played in the prem though, I remember him scoring against us when we beat them 2-1 (I think) with Hitz getting the last minute winner.
