  1. Ah we've got another senile one in charge, he's forgotten he's already signed Chris Sutton... :winkold:
  2. It's all gone very quiet on the SWP to West Ham front and suddenly they seem to be chasing Ljungberg. So although no-one knows for definite, it certainly looks that way.
  3. I just hope if we get him on loan we agree a fee we can sign him for. I wouldn't mind having him for the rest of the season, but I'd rather we had the option to buy at the end. Seems they want rid of him so works for both (even though it would seem SWP doesn't want to leave permanently he might be persuaded by being here for a few months.)
  4. We had Ben Haim, we turned him down, doubt he'd be too keen to come back (even if it is new manager etc). And Sheff Utd after Ashley Young? Talk about out of the frying pan into the fire! I know they're not as much up the creek as Watford but I really can't see him moving there under any circumstances.
  5. Yeah I know you said that, and if he wants to be released then fine. But unless he wants to go there's no point just getting rid of him. Can fill in at centre back in (dire) emergencies as well. Oh and he's been rather good at times.
  6. What would we gain from releasing Sutton from a paper thin squad? About £10k a week in wages? We might as well keep him even if we use him sparingly.
  7. Sorry why does it look like one we've missed? He's not playing so as to keep his transfer value up assuming the clubs that want him stay in the FA Cup, doesn't really matter to us, but does to Everton, Spurs etc.
  8. He's an absolute clearing in the woods... but a good player. I'd take him.
  9. Much like with that African bloke, its unfortunate that in the prem defenders actually mark their men and keepers make attempts to keep the ball out the goal, but still, I'd give him a chance. Can only beat what's put in front of you I guess.
  10. Yeah yeah and ratlle in the shots, we know. Just how many of your 16000 posts have been bad jokes? I'm guessing around 15000?
  11. Anyone willing to put their money where their mouth is? Those very confident of not signing him pledging some money to VT if he does sign? Those who seem sure he's in talks (though I realise that doesn't mean he'll sign) pledging some money if he doesn't?
  12. I think MON won't gamble on US or South American players, or only on ones that have played in a decent league in Europe. Doesn't that defender play in Belgium and Dempsey in the MLS? They both could be very good players like you say, but I think its a bit much of a gamble for MON at this stage. Could be wrong.
  13. I like Scott Carson as well, and have also been impressed with some of his form. I wouldn't mind if Villa made a bid for him at all! I actually rate him above Taylor tbh. Can't see anyone disagreeing with that. But then Carson will probably be Liverpool's first choice within 2 seasons, if not next season, so no chance of us signing him.
  14. I thought in American football you don't sign players as such (with a transfer fee I mean), isn't it a draft system and some sort of swapping? Salaries are a lot more though. I might be way out, I don't really know much about it.
  15. Hi General, better game today than last time out definitely, did you actually get to see it over there or just hear about it? Just one question as I haven't read it anywhere, I know you're out the country at the moment but what about Randy? I'm well aware its not essential for him to be in this country for business to be done, we live in the 21st century, just wondered that's all. And thanks for sorting me out again today (well thanks to Nicola as well), I really do appreciate it.
  16. Yep, if O'Neill wants him then I trust him totally, but I wouldn't have chosen him personally. But then I said that about Sutton, and he's been a good signing IMO.
  17. They're not stupid odds at all. I stuck a tenner on at just under evens on Celtic and Chelsea winning today, just to make me not feel so bad when we lose.
  18. We could buy him back, £4m should do the trick...
  19. I'd rather leave Ferguson and just shift some of the other players we've got back into the middle when we've bought some wide players, namely Petrov. Especially as he didn't really cut it at Blackburn anyway.
  20. Yeah when Ive been to Man City there were still people checking your tickets, which sort of defeats the object of the system really, doesn't make it any quicker to get into the ground. Its a good idea for inside the ground though paying for food etc. And I guess its a good idea for the saving on postage and stuff if you just automatically get the game credited to your card, makes admin easier. Doesn't save on stewarding costs or anything like that though I'd have thought.
