  1. And he was at the Rotterdam Revisited night. They employ him, they don't control his life.
  2. So I did, just seems to spring to mind, its about as useless as you can get as well.
  3. Title explains it really, what random information do you know that is totally useless, you don't really know why you know it, its not even interesting really, but you know it and have kept it in there for some reason.I love random bits of information like this and seem to retain them far better than anything useful, such as stuff I've revised for exams.I'll start you off with 2, but there's plenty more where this came from1) Venus is the only planet that rotates clockwise2) Even before he joined Newcastle, Michael Owen had scored more goals at St. James' Park than Keiron Dyer (though it wouldn't surprise me if Dyer had caught him now...)So go on, I want useless facts, only rule is you have to know them, you can't look them up.
  4. The best reason I can come up with for letting him go there is that we'll save about £200k in wages in the time he's away. And that really is a pathetic reason to let someone go on loan. So no, wouldn't let him go. If Laursen gets injured againwithn a month, which is quite likely, and then we lose Cahill or Mellberg we'll end up with Hughes at CB again. The squad simply isn't big enough to be letting people go on loan.
  5. Its true. If you've got kids and you don't want them to hear it then the "family section" or whatever its called is in the North Upper, never sat up there myself but I imagine the amount of bad language up there is lower (though not got rid of completely) than in the rest of the stadium.
  6. Fantastic attitude. (That video is superb by the way)
  7. Fantastic post Michelsen, great to hear things like this about the club. How about putting it up on the front page?
  8. Sorry if it's already been asked General but did you make it to the game yesterday or are you still in the states? If not did you still get to watch the John Carew masterclass on tv?
  9. Don't worry General, get the team to win every game and it won't matter if it's a draw or tie
  10. That reminds me, I'll bump that thread up, I owe £10.65
  11. Second post in a row that has made me smile a lot. Assuming that post referred to everything the club has done to help me through my illness. I've posted a front page article on here before saying a bit of what the club has done to help me. But here seems an appropriate place to say thanks again not only to the General, who kicked it all into action, but to Nicola Keye and all those in the ticket office amongst others. For those of you who don't know a quick summary... I'm pretty damn ill and during my treatment my immune system is weakened quite significantly, so I have to avoid crowded places and being out in the cold for extended periods, my first thought when told this was no going to see MON's revolution for a few months at least, probably the rest of the season (swiftly followed by... "shit I can't go to the pub" ). But since my treatment started I've been at every game, inside, and with not many people around. Which has been absolutely fantastic of course, even if there's only been 1 win in that time! And hopefully I'll be able to make most of the rest of the games this season in a similar arrangement. As I've said before this has really helped me through my treatment and given me something to look forward to, it's really humbling the club will do this for an ordinary fan like me. If it wasn't to do with me... even better really, because it means the club is helping others we don't know about. Which I assume it is anyway, because those running this club, from top to bottom, really are top draw. So thanks again General and the all the rest that make this club the greatest in the World
  12. I've not smiled so much reading something for a long long time.
  13. i think thats a great idea... dont know of any club or sports company that do that... would be unique to the villa... Like I say JJB do it, so not unique, but would be nice.
  14. You could always get "Gabby" printed on the back :winkold: But yeah good idea, I know JJB do printing which is a standard price for a name and number if they're a player at the team (ie. not your own name), so Agbonlahor 15 would be the same as Laursen 5. Which does seem fairer.
  15. Can I just say I'm very impressed you recognised him, had you seen him recently or something?
  16. O'Neill has walked away from at least one deal so far. Ashley Young I imagine. clicky
  17. I read that report as well, they're clearly wrong about "easing goalkeeping worries", he's one for the future, not for now.
  18. 7/4 on Mourinho not to be Chelsea manager in September, pretty good odds if you ask me.
  19. Ooh yeah, when I was thinking about my road trip across the US I forgot about the possibility of a Villa US tour, that would be a nice addition to my trip.
  20. Carew is only 2 years older than SWP? I don't rate Carew, but then I haven't seen him play in a couple of years and he seems to have been doing alright. The obvious advantage of signing him is so we can have a chim-chimmeny chant. That's got to be as good as reason as any to sign someone?
  21. I wouldn't say this deserves its own thread, as it's quite clearly bollocks, but there's talk of a loan swap with Baros and Kalou on FansFC click
  22. Hi General, Just wondered if Randy has been at the last few games, haven't seen it reported anywhere, but I assume he has been as he's been in the country. I think I saw it mentioned he was at the Chelsea game thinking about it, but not whether he was up at Old Trafford or will be this weekend, didn't see his face on tv at any point, fitting much with his image... Also presumably Richard Fitzgerald has been able to make it to the games to see what the club is all about? And what about yourself, are you coming back over for the Watford game?
  23. Yeah I'd like Lauren as well, not sure how cheap he'd be though seeing as they spent £7m on him in the first place...
  24. At this time of year surely it makes sense to play them at the Bescot, save our pitch and all that, it's in good nick at the moment, lets keep it that way. I see the advantage of playing the occasional game at VP, but not all of them by any means.
