  1. Put in a solid peformance. Nearly thought that long shot was going to go in. Would have been a great first goal for him!
  2. Had a excellent game yesterday. Keep it up KEA!
  3. Yeah though he would come on today. Maybe his debut will be the Rotherham game?
  4. Did well when he came on yesterday.Personally I would have him over Baker. Better on the ball than braveheart- and doesnt get injured every other game. Seems a confidence player. I hope he has a future at the club.
  5. Brillant. So glad I went to the game yesterday! I was quietly confident of a result, but I have to say I feared the worst when the arsenal scored early doors. You have to say all the decisions went our way, but we played well and to come back from 1-0 down away, speaks well for the side. As ever under lambert we look very tasty up front, but poor at the back. If Arsenal still had RVP, I think we may have lost yesterday. Guzan was immense again, thought Clark didnt let the side down when he came on. Vlaar was decent but Lowton and Luna didnt have the best of times at the back. Good going forward though. KEA probably had the best game I have seen in a Villa shirt. Delph made Wiltshire have a quiet game, Westy put in a neat and tidy peformance as ever, and the front 3 look like they can score at any game.I think the pens were fair, but perhaps the sending off a bit harsh. The claret and blue faithful made a hell of a noise in the corporate bowl that is the emirates. If the Arsenal customers are that fed up of it, they should not renew and go. If they started getting 40,000 crowds, they would soon bring in a few players. Wenger was as ungracious as ever. I know its only 1 game, but if they don't get a decent striker they will do well to get 4th. As for Villa, great start and hopefully we can keep this going. UTV.
  6. This was THE original derby. Plus the fact that Albion finished abover us last season and they celebrated like that was winning a cup. They loath us and we are indifferent to them, which pisses them off even more. Just try having a conversation to a baggies fan. Within a few minutes they will have a go at Villa and claim that there ground is too small for them, which is a crock of shit. I would love it if they go down and to see them all cry at the Hawthorns.Boing Boing my arse.
  7. This is going to be interesting. Its is effectively the big national european leagues v UEFA and FIFA. The last 20 years or so has been the story of the increase in power and money of the clubs, and this could be a turning point in which they will either lose and back down, or the associations fail to control them. The FA is doing bugger all as usual.
  8. 'Twas the night before season starts, when all through Villa Talk, not a creature was stirring, not even a bluenose. The claret and blue stockings were hung by the changing room with care, In hopes that St Paul soon be there' Can't bloody wait. UTV!
  9. Yeah we could be like when Portsmouth won the last FA Cup before the war- and held it for 7 years! Shame bout the nextgen, thought it was a good idea. Re Euros- I hate it. It means 75% of the teams in the group stage will move to the knock out- their will now be a 2nd round as well. Bloated and diluted. Now they realise only about 4 or 5 countries in Europe are big enough to host a 24 team tournament, so from 2020 onwards it will be in all the big, rich, cities instead.
  10. The cheapskate's choice, the I, has predicted Villa to come 9th. Quotes ' Villa's survival was welcome after Lambert put his faith in young talent rather than lavishly paid veterans and all concerned will be stronger for the experience'. Usual stuff about good news Benteke has stayed. Also mentions Vlaar needs to have a good year and that Villa have shopped abroad rather than down the leagues in the summer.
  11. They will also back Qatar World Cup in the winter to the hilt, as Plantini is very 'friendly' with them. So not exactly representing the European member leagues interests there. While I am at it, Plantini has also ruined the European Championships by making it 24 teams by 2016. Great player, awful bureaucrat,
  12. I think this will be the match of the weekend. Just need to start well and not throw away goals. I am expecting a lot of entertainment. Hopefully more for the Villa than Arsenal.
  13. Is it me or Levy looks like a camp bond villain?!
  14. Punching way above their heads, as they are a mid table championship team. This are not my words, these are the words of Jeremy Peace. Wow, what ambition. The sooner they bugger off back down to the fizzy pop league, the better. About time we put them in their place. I expect a twatting of them this season.
  15. We are taking a massive hit, but at least we will be savings thousands of £££ every week now he is at Fulham. Thank you Darren and best wishes for the future. Hopefully will free up money for a late signing!
  16. Looked like a entertaining lower mid table premier league match. Better than most friendlies, and I think it gives support to play the auld enemy more often. Cahill and Jagieka looked dodgy againist a ageing Kenny Miller which is a bit worrying.
  17. Another thing that i've been impressed with during the pre-season is that the players do look incredibly fit. The high pressure and constant hassling of defenders has been great, and could be very effective against Arsenal who will try and pass their way out of everything. True but surely it should be a bare minimum that footballers who get paid millions should be fit? That was the problem under O'Neill. Every time when got in March, they all looked knackered. I mean what did Martin do on a average day at Villa? He didn't do much of the training. He wasn't really interested in the youth team. And he certainly didnt do much scouting either. Now he has all day to do nothing.
  18. 10 glorious years eh?! Did people write 10 years ago that the Villa just needed 2 or 3 quality players and we could really compete and the top, and do you think we will be writing that in another 10 years? The more it changes the more it remains the same.
  19. Most reviewers still put us in the mid table to struggle mode. Mostly on the fact that a- they don't know any of our new signings, and b- we have a tough start to the season. I think we should be pleasantly suprised this year. Given how crap we were last year for half of it and still came 15th, we should be looking up rather than down this season. Hopefully.
  20. Do you think this is all part of John W. Henry's plan to make lots of money on Liverpool? If they are not allowed to expand Anfield (by forcing the local community out of their houses) they are fooked.
  21. My dad had Alan Partridge in his taxi today. He reckons Bent's got a foot like a traction engine. THAT- IS A GOAL. Partridge would probably be better than most commentators!
  22. How do Liverplop keep affording this? Huge losses on Downing and Carroll. What is it about 3 years without CL football? I know for some reason they are stilll seen as a big club and sell loads of shirts, but Anfield is small. I think they have 12 exec boxes or something. Downing might do okay at West Ham- he has found his level. Mid table nothingness.
  23. Jol (new owner) Pardew (because its Newcastle) or Bruce (unfashionable manager takes unfashionable side up and gets rewarded with sack) would be my favs.
  24. Back to the traditional Wednesday slot. Good. Come on Villa, lets make it a fiver in the Holte and North stand.
  25. Actually crying here ethehethethetheth, ethethetheth, ethethetheth, Chris Waddle.
