  1. Haven't been on this site for some time, and after reading this topic i can remember why now... some absolute clowns on here. Most know nothing about the player and are still either whinging or slagging him off. A few people need to give thier heads a wobble...
  2. Over the moon with this appointment. Get in! i think we'll see him get the best out of a number of players, none more so than Jack, and Hogan will hopefully be like a new signing!
  3. "McCormack conceded that his future at promotion-chasing Villa was all but over under manager Steve Bruce. “If (a City deal can’t be sorted) then I’ll go back to Villa and probably have to look for another loan move as well,’’ he said. “It’s not my decision but I think it’s probably been made clear that I won’t be around the team there which is fine, that’s football, that’s what happens.” Here
  4. Anyone else notice that Whelan wasn't clapping during the minutes applause at the weekend? Seemed strange...
  5. It's dawned on me today exactly what Randy's plan is... He'll keep hold of the club until they are relegated and then sell to the highest bidder, even if it is only for a reasonably small figure. Think about it a minute, last season we received 68m for finishing 17th in the Prem, plus whatever our Cup run was worth. where did that money go? our transfer dealings were pretty much done from our sales, wages would be mainly covered my merchandise, ticket sales and sponsorship, so we can estimate Lerner pocket roughly 75m. This season the TV rights have gone up and he can expect to pocket 100m plus. This has been going on for 4 or 5 seasons now so why would he be interested in selling for a one off fee of 150m when he can keep getting golden eggs and then sell for 50m+ when the inevitable happens? As a business man with no long term loyalty to the club, it makes total business sense as he is making some good money on his original investment, but unfortunately for us Villa fans the future is gloomy until the day he sells, and by then i think we will be playing championship football.
  6. Surely a message to you Rudy is perfect for him. Something along the lines of... He's big, he's bad and he's ours (na na na) He's gonna bring a bright future (na na na) Time to cross the ball in (na na na) Creating problems in the box (na na na) Rudy, a message to you Rudy, a message to you (Needs some work but reckon this would sound awesome) He's big, he's bad and he's ours (na na na) He's gonna bring a bright future (na na na) Time to cross the ball in (na na na) He's terrorising defenders (na na na) Rudy, a header for you Rudy, a a header for you

  8. SInclair? Ayew hasn't touched the ball at all this half. Sinclair has made a few good runs down the left. It seemed like if we were going to get a goal, it was going to come from Sinclair. I don't recall seeing Sinclair in their half down the left - I've seen Amavi a few times, but Sinclair has been anonymous, Ayew has been second to the ball on a number of occasions down the right; I'd sooner he was winning it, but at least I know he's out there. Gabby has been our most likely outlet and the best of the three for my money. I have to agree with Czechlad here, no idea what game you are watching? Sinclair is the only one out of the 3 that looks like he's interested. He skinned their player down the wing the once and had to check back as nothing was in front of him also had another run where the player got booked for pulling him back. What has Gabby done? We really need to replace Gabby and Westwood if we're to start winning games.
  9. Stones is one for the future and won't be taking Cahill's place so we can forget about that one as nice as it would be. Walker, young or Lescott are the only ones I can think of and I'd be happy with any or all of them. What's Melberg doing these days though, has he retired yet? Could be him or Laursen coming in as a coach? Who knows what to think this season with all that's going on... It's foreign to me and I quite like it
  10. Couldn't find the Snake thread, but Delph has just done a hamstring after 17 minutes of his debut and has been stretchered off! If that doesn't make for a good day nothing will
  11. Hmmmm, where have i heard that before? a yes, about 2 and a half seasons ago
  12. From that statement i'm guessing you are either drunk or no nothing about Klinsmanns managerial career! He has only ever managed one club side... Bayern Munich who he left because he had a fall out with due to ideas. "In July 2008 Klinsmann took over as coach of Bayern Munich, succeeding Ottmar Hitzfeld.[30] Klinsmann helped design a new player development and performance center for Bayern and then launched into molding the team for the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League campaigns. Under his guidance, Bayern reached the quarter final of the Champions League, losing to eventual champion FC Barcelona. Bayern's record during the 2008–09 UEFA Champions League was six wins, three draws, and one loss (to Barcelona). In the Bundesliga, Bayern was only three points off first place, with five matches to play, when Klinsmann was replaced as head coach due to a difference of opinion with the club's board of directors. Bayern's record under Klinsmann during the 2008–09 Bundesliga season was 16 wins, six draws, and seven losses" I've wanted Klinsmann since Mon walked out and i still want him today...
  13. Why not all stand up and turn our backs for a minute during the game, maybe in the 11th minute...

Or does anyone else have a developers licence that you can use?

Can't you make it in HTML5? Would save going through Apple at all and can be cross platform. People only need to add it toe their home screen and it looks and does the same thing...
  16. Just had the new away top delivered to my house by Kenny Swain! Shame I live in Australia, but Mom and Dad had the Skype on and we had a good chat and what a great guy he is too, very friendly and down to earth. Anyone else have the perfect Sunday?
  17. @SeanO Did you ever think his performances last season may have suffered because of what he was playing with? I for one really hope we keep him, but i have a feeling he will be going to Man Yoo. One of the standout defenders in the world cup and last night he stopped the greatest player on the planet from doing anything, in fact Messi looked very average and you could even say Vlaar had him in his pocket...
  18. Sounds to me he put a deadline on striking a deal before he gave PL a kitty to spend. That deadline has passed and he will now release the kitty as he knows if he leaves it to late he runs the risk of no buyer and no new players before the season starts and that hampers his sale plans even more. It also sound a like he is still in discussions with at least one buyer, possibly more. He quite strongly states that he won't make another announcement until the sale is done, which makes me believe the talks he has had or is having are going well and he believes a sale will happen sooner rather than later. If there were no discussions going on I don't think he'd state this. All in all I think it's a very positive statement.
  19. BoA will send out the prospectus and accept bids right up until the day any deal is signed. They wouldn't be much of a business if they did otherwise as they'd look pretty amateurish if a deal fell through and they had stopped long before...
  20. I asked a mate of mine, who is a Fulham season ticket holder, what he thought about him. Here is his reply: Absolute garbage. In a bad team, he was one of our worst. Constantly caught out of position. And, without fail, one embarrassingly calamitous moment per game, guaranteed.
  21. Can people please stop talking about FFP rules. it is only a matter of time before it gets taken to court and blown out of the water. PSG and City know it and that's why they aren't bothered about it. Football is a business and as a business owner you are allowed to inject as much financial support as you like. Simple as that.
  22. All i get when i click the link is his twitter page telling me his tweets are protected? Maybe take a screen shot and post it (or just tell us). There's a couple of things that strike me as odd with the Keane news... 1. Why would he turn down Celtic to be number 2 with us in our current position (fighting off relegation for a few years) when he would be a messiah with almost guaranteed success at Celtic (and most likely better paid) 2. Why would he take a role at a club that is for sale, with the knowledge that new owners would most likely want their own management team?
  23. The truth of it is none of us have an idea what is going on behind the scenes and whether there are any talks going on or not. Those that are also spouting that there is NO buyer are as bad as those, in fact worse, than those claiming things may be happening or speculating about certain, potential buyers. Simple answer, if you don't like reading about speculation, then click in your browsers and go to the news channels and just wait for an announcement whenever that may be. I actually enjoy reading the speculation, whether I choose to believe it all though...
  24. I've said for some time that I believe Lerner has at least one offer on the table and I think the reason he went public is that he wants to see who else is interested before he sells. I still believe he has the club at heart but has been stung from the mon years and knew he didn't have the money to invest. He may have an offer from someone with a net worth of a couple of billion, but wants to see if there is anyone with more, like the Arabs, that want a football club to help us achieve that CL dream. I think come the end of this month we'll find out more as I think his timeline would be about up. Also for those asking how long a deal takes, it all depends on the parties involved, it could be done in as little as 2-3 weeks or it could stretch to months. If you are a billionaire wanting to buy a football club, there really isn't that much due diligence to do...

Is this poll still the same one from the start of the season or has it been reset to reflect what everyone thinks now?
