  1. ...and they just happen to be walking past a souvenir shop with Mickey Mouse in the window? And why take away Coffee's, surely they would be meeting in a nice restaurant or similar and not getting a take out to drink in the local park?
  2. I've been saying this for the last few appointments, i think he would be perfect for us and was my number 1 choice when we got GH and AM and he's still my number 1 choice now... ...maybe that's why Randy went back to the US on the weekend??? :winkold:
  3. There is no way in this world that United would take him on straight from Molde, however well he did there. he needs to go to a bigger club in a bigger league and prove himself there to be even considered for them.
  4. I heard an interesting story the other day from a minor ITK friend of mine in regards to last summers managerial search... Lerner and Faulkner asked this person if they knew of any good football advisors that they could talk to in regards to a manager that matches our criteria, he put them onto Graham Taylor as he knows him and his history at the club and general football knowledge. So they then arrange a meeting with him and Faulkner turns up alone, Taylor told him that he spoke to him for twenty minutes and everything he said basically went over his head and he had no idea what he was talking about, made his excuses and left. When the guy i know was talking to Taylor afterwards he said Faulkner is one of the greenest guys he had ever met and knew absolutely nothing about football. So there you go, the guy making all the footballing decisions in our club has no idea about football... lets just hope they learnt from last year and actually listen to their advisors this year!
  5. Could be cryptic... Andre VILLAs Boas, would wear a claret and Blue scarf....
  6. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but AVB has a big point to prove in England!
  7. I'd take anyone of the young up coming managers like Lambert, Poyet, Holloway etc or Martinez. however i have a horrible feeling that we will still have the Ginger one here at the start of the season, does anyone else have this feeling??
  8. Probably been said before.......McLeish! Simple as that!
  9. He has to stay in the team ahead of that shite Scottish guy that calls himself a footballer. How Alan Hutton plays at the top level is beyond me...
  10. The biggest April fool here is the fact he is still our manager....
  11. I don't think that Randy has lost his love for villa, and I don't think he has lost the passion and will for success. He is a businessman and obviously a very, very successful one. Now tell me how many successful business men are still throwing there money around at the minute? Especially American businessmen? It's no coincidence that the time Lerner stopped spending big was roughly the same time America and then the world went into recession, a recession that we still haven't got out of and looks just as likely to get worse as it does better. Ay sensible businessman would be doing a similar thing and consolidating what they have and making sure they don't LOSE their money which is exactly what we are seeing here. He is getting rid of the excess baggage/needless expense and I'm sure once the world becomes a stable place again he will start to invest once again. Obviously when you see City throw cash around like they have it gives a bit of a false picture for everyone else, but they are a bit of an exception it he world at the minute. I don't think any manager, ,even McLeishwould go to a club knowing that they have no money at all to spend. I think his brief would have been consolidate until the world is financially stable again, and then you will be able to spend. Fom a business point of view it seems like exactly what any decent businessman would do...
  12. This^^^ Not bad when you also think that McClown also plays him in a different position most matches....
  13. I was gonna jump in, but then read this and have to agree.... However he has to have a miraculous turn around in the next 4weeks for it to be anything but a big No!
  14. One of the worst decisions I have seen in football. If he stamped on Olssen would he have just got up and played on? Never in million years, he and a dozen other players would have kicked off... If anyone can give me an example of a player that has been stamped on and just. Got up and walked away then I'll buy them a beer. If it was a stamp he would of either rolled around on the floor or retaliated!
  15. Heard anything about a replacement?? ........anything to brighten up this situation? Unfortunately not. My contact only gets snippets like when Hogg started against Utd last season... i will see if i can get the fee out of him and news of anyone coming in though...
  16. I believe you said the fee was agreed yesterday (or the day before) :winkold: Close enough though, I'll let you have this one! I heard that Liverpool officials were down yesterday with an improved offer and to negotiate the deal. I think it was agreed yesterday, but nothing official announced until today the reason being they wanted downing to hand in a transfer request so no payout from us.
  17. There is one good thing to come from this ...... My ITK was 100% correct again
  18. I said reliable.... Would you have preferred me to put ITK? The info is from the Same guy that told me Hogg was starting against Man Utd last season (which also got shot down at the time) so no reason to doubt him.
  19. Ex manager ???? No. Different source then, but same info.
  20. My guy told me about the new bid yesterday but will not tell me if it has been accepted or not, sure he only phones me to gloat. Is your guy the same as mine?
  21. Just heard from a reliable source that Liverpool HAVE come back with an improved offer and we HAVE accepted it. Downing will be talking to them today or tomorrow. Will post more if i hear anything. And sorry will be off line for the next hour or so as still at work. Good riddance i say!
  22. The wonders of photoshop! Never real in a million years!
  23. Hi General, Welcome back to the trenches, i bet you had easier times in the forces than facing us fickle fans!!! I'd just like to say that Randy and the board still have my 100% backing, as nearly everything you have done for the club has been good and i won't change that opinion on one decision like this. Whilst AM in my opinion is a strange appointment, fact is he is here now and i'll support him as long as he's manager and hopefully you all prove us wrong and we all have to eat humble pie! I'm actually over the appointment now and quite looking forward to see who we sign and the season ahead! My question to you is in regards to your criteria of having premier league experience. For future appointments will you look at keeping this as part of the criteria or will you change your stance on this?? You look at last seasons top 4 and not one of their managers has previous experience. Chelsea look like appointing Villa-Boas from Porto to and he is similar, so if the big clubs aren't concerned about it why are we and who are the advisers telling us this is important?? Hopefully AM becomes a huge success and then all of this will be irrelevant! UTV!
  24. Is anyone else upset that Blues went down now??? I could have put up with another year of taking 6 points off them if this wasn't going to happen....
