  1. You couldn't give me this weeks Lottery numbers from your crystal ball also could you??? :winkold:
  2. The season before the takeover we were in the UEFA Cup. The season before that we finished one point off of the UEFA Cup. Are you talking about the 1st takeover or the 2nd takeover?? Reality - you made me laugh, great description!
  3. Lets look on the positive side, true or not Villa will have to now comment on this. If it's true then i think City will be keen to get it done quickly as i can see another couple of teams entering the bidding and City will be wary of this! Anything over 25mil will be a good deal for us or 15mil and Ireland. Milner is a very good player but for 25mil+ we can make the squad much stronger than if we keep him.
  4. Exactly what i was thinking, who is this guy?? And where are the quotes???
  5. Or just have a different opinion? A different opinion and a moan are completely different. A moan is a bit like a Vuvuzela......a loud drone that becomes annoying after a while!
  6. You don't actually KNOW this though do you? Unless I've missed something entirely none of us know the conversations that have or haven't taken place between the club, MoN and Milner. I find it bizarre that we can hold grudges against the club based on speculative opinions. Totally agree with you mate, no one has any idea what has gone on between him and the club or what his thoughts are and yet he is getting called un-loyal by some and rubbish by others that were calling him brilliant only a few months ago! He has been at the world cup for a month, concentrating on England (Shame most of the squad weren't!) then he is having a couple of weeks holiday away from all of it after a bumper season, surely he deserves that??? He has said nothing either for or against staying, yet he is getting judged by what the press says, surely people can see this??? And how does anyone know that we haven't tried to sign big names?? does someone have inside information that i haven't heard? Maybe we were in for Cole, but he chose Liverpool? simple thing is no one knows who we are in for and what has happened with Milner and the club, so surely we can give them a break until we see who signs and how the season goes? Its the same record every season...a summer of whinging about the transfer activity, booing after the 1st game of the season, realisation that the donkey's he's bought aren't actually that bad (Dunne springs to mind) fighting for 4th until the final weeks, Improving on the season before (Again) and then back to the summer again, and let the whinging begin!! I guess some people are just born to moan, it's in there nature, maybe they should walk around with a smile every now and again and try and think positive for once.....
  7. What asking price?? I'm pretty sure we have stated that we don't want to sell him. The mirror is becoming about as good as the shite other sites that get quoted!
  8. The tag line makes it look very amatuerish. it would look very good without it and happy to have them on board!
  9. 100% England for me. If the Question was Villa winning the League, then it would be Villa 100%. The jubilation i would get from England winning the world cup would far outweigh us finishing 4th. I would be on the p!ss for days, i would be able to stick 2 fingers up at all the foreigners that i know that always slag off the England team and i could do this for 4 years! I have loads of English friends that support other teams and we could all celebrate this together. Villa finishing 4th would be superb, but would i go on the p!ss for days, i doubt it. If we won the League then yes. It could also be very short lived as we could go out in the Qualifying games and not even get to the group stages.
  10. Pretty even game IMO. Again the penalty was a big point in the game as well as what should have been red for Terry and numerous yellows for Deco. A little luck for their 1st goal after a poor header by Dunne. More changes around the 70-75min mark 'could' have made a difference as Petrov was out on his feet as were a few others. Cuellar had a great game and kept an in form Malouda very quiet. Milner again showed his quality. Young put some decent balls in, Downing still fails to impress. I feel more p!ssed off with this game than the 7-1 as we were outplayed that day and deserved to lose, today it was more about poor refereeing and bad luck and that's what really sh!ts me!
  11. erm no i dont watch the game and didn't see us barely touch the ball today bar 8 minutes.... Well im glad everyone is positive...ill see you soon when we have lost to Liverpool, iv already put £40 down on it. What odds did you get? I'd have happily taken that from you.
  12. I for one will be there in full voice! over for Xmas for the 1st time in ages and managed to secure tickets for the Liverpool and both Blackburn games at home! happy days!!
  13. Ponky = Bang on with your summary. Villa84 = Do you actually watch games or just look at the odd result? A decent ref today and we could have been playing 10 men for most if not all of the 2nd half! How many bookable fouls did Song do today? i lost count and then he books him for diving!!
  14. Booing on the opening day during a game that we are trying to get back into is a disgrace, how on earth could you expect the players to fight back with over 30mins left in a game when there is a chorus of boos around the ground? Everton got thumped 6-1, and were there boos going around the ground and everyone calling for Moyes to be sacked? I think not (and yes i watched the game live) Fickle fans that is what we mostly have. One game doesn't make a season. If we are still playing dross at Xmas and are mid table or worse then there may be some argument for the booing, but on the 1st day is (in the words of MON) Totally unacceptable, however poor we were. Let's look on the bright side, it should spur MON to go out and buy! UTV
  15. I can't believe i am answering such a stupid question. Lets face it, who are we going to get that is better then him? Exactly!
  16. Personally i would have walked away quietly. I don't get booed when i have a bad day at work, so why would i boo anyone else, unless it's the pantomime baddy at Xmas? It's the booing during the game that i am referring too, not after the final whistle, you can't have an impact on the result then.
  17. When was the last time we actually beat Wigan at home????
  18. I'm sat at home booing my laptop It helps to make me feel better, not sure I'm too bothered what the players feel after today So you're happy for the Morale to be lower than it should be after 1 game? I dont think me booing my laptop had any affect on the morale or the performance to be honest if they play like that they deserve all the abuse they get. That was truly shocking Champions League? No chance, absolutely no chance. I was referring to you not being bothered about how the players felt, and their morale being lower than it should be after one game. You can boo all you like at home :-)

  20. I would have said i was very disappointed with the booing today, however after reading these forums over the summer i am not surprised one bit. Yes it was a poor performance, no argument there, but how on earth is booing going to help the team? we are now 90 minutes into the season and the attitude of some so called fans is that we are fighting a relegation battle! We ended the game with a handful of youngsters on the pitch, how do you think they would take the booing? Young, who we all know can be awesome on his day was booed, what do you think he will make of that? and where will his thoughts go when one of the big clubs like Chelsea or Utd come in for him, would he go to them or stay here where he gets booed when he is having an off day? The atmosphere was somber from the minute the team walked out on the pitch like there was some bad hangover from last year. We actually started the game really well, but as soon as Wigan had one attack you could hear the atmosphere get sapped out of the ground and from there on it was all down hill. At 2-0 down with well over 30mins left in the game, you would expect the home crowd to really get behind their team and create an atmosphere to get the team motivated more and really back into the game, especially on the 1st day of the season, I think Villa Park is the only place in the Premier that this doesn't happen, we just sit all somber and start booing the team making matters worse. A very poor performance indeed and i think more so as a lot of people were hoping for a dominant performance today to banish the ghost's of Laursen and Barry. Having said that, the fans there on match day really need to take a look at the part they are also playing in knocking the morale out of the team. Today was like the season was over before it even started, we need to put today behind us and more than ever start to get behind the team, with or without new players in (Hopefully with)! Bad day for more than one reason, but lets get our season started at Vienna and lets get behind the boys!! UTV! Ratings Friedal 7 - Made some good saves that really kept the score down and had no chance with the 1st Shorey 3 - Very poor probably not helped when the booing started, although he was just as poor before it Cuellar 5 Davies 4 - We really need someone decent in here Beye 5 - didn't do much wrong, but didn't do much right Milner 7 - probably our best player Young 5 - poor delivery every time, however he constantly had 2 or 3 men on him as soon as he got the ball Petrov 6 - got over run a bit in the middle, probably down to having a youngster next to him Delph 4 - missing for most of the time on the park, really should be starting a few games on the bench before starting the game Gabby 3 - was he there today? Bramble had the better of him for christ's sake Heskey 4 - shame Carew got injured in the warm up, surely he will start the next game, won't he??? Subs Sidwell 7 - made a difference when he came on, shame all the booing had put the rest of the team off Albrighton 6 - looked pretty decent and really got stuck in, unlicky Sidwell didn't get on his superb cross Delf 5 - not really long enough to do anything
  21. Brilliant read. Agree 100%. We have built and got better each year.
  22. It has been revealed that Jacko died picking his nose. the police said you can't blame it on the sunshine and you can't blame it on the moonlight but you can blame it on the boogie!
  23. No contest really. Big Yes. Who could we get any better? Can't seem to add my vote though?????
  24. I can't believe this one hasn't been locked yet, why do all threads seem to end up like this??
