    I think the main thing lots of people are missing is that we're still improving. We've been getting better and better both individually and as a team. We're 2 points off the top and we still have room to grow. Our main weapon last season was down the left with Ramsey and Moreno. They've still to get back in the side fully firing. Bailey is only now starting to show what a player he can be. Tielemans is another who beginning to find his feet. Donk against Arsenal was excellent in his cameo. And the group is getting better at executing the coaches plan. Olsen playing out from the back against Warsaw is a case in point. All of this and we've still maintained a challenge. I'm a believer mate!

    Just managed to find another blurry video of the incident and I'm not seeing an elbow at all. Diego reaches out to feel for the attacker and brushes his shoulder/chest. Player then rolls around in a manner perfected at the arsenal training ground....

    Disagree, the contact looked accidental/clumsy. Also I don't see Watkins rolling around screaming and holding his face in your scenario.

    It wasn't really an elbow. A little clumsy perhaps, exacerbated the the trademark Arsenal player rolling around on the floor.

    I still don't think we've hit top gear yet. The Man City game was immense, that's our level. We need to be that good more often, we're demonstrably capable. We've improved month on month since Emery came in. Why couldn't we hit our stride after Christmas? Who'd bet against us?

    I'm not sure the impact of tiredness will be all that much. Our style of play is slow and considered, not the blood and thunder approach of, say Newcastle. I think this is intended to some degree to enable us to play in Europe and still be competitive in the league. Emery is well versed in European campaigns and has experience of how to keep his teams fresh for the duration of a season. I do think in some matches we deliberately play at an even slower pace, frustratingly slow, in an attempt to keep gas in the tank.

    That's the kind of performance and result that gives the squad the belief that they actually belong at the top of the table. I don't think they'll be anyone with imposter syndrome at villa park now.

    Don't like him in the midfield 2. Not defensive enough, not strong enough. Also rarely showed for a pass from the defence or from Martinez. Kamara does this all the time and it allow Luiz space to play. Tielemans in the middle takes too much away from the others. Prefer for him to play out wide or as a ten.

    The number of times he bollocked on about the midfield 3 of Luiz, Kamara and Tielemans and how as a 3 they've impressed him this season..... When they've only played together a handful of times. It's as if he was making shit up to sound informed.....
