  1. If the worse case scenario does happen and say a Saudi PIF club bought Bellingham for £200 million then loaned him to Newcastle for next to nothing then something will happen. That is clearly a FFP loophole that will be closed immediately due to outcry from opposition teams and the general public. Loaning players between clubs you own seems a reasonable proposition. There will need to be further regulation to stop clubs taking the piss and I'm confident that regulation will come in and be approved.
  2. Does Dion Dublin need a cataracts operation?
  3. Think it might be to correct the McGuire call earlier
  4. There just doesn't seem to be any kind of tactical approach at all. "Magic Moments"?
  5. That's definitely definitely definitely a pen. He just shoved him to the ground.
  6. There wasn't var back then..... Nobody involved meaningfully iin the play will be given offside.
  7. So ostensibly, they're getting rid of the offside rule.
  8. How did Connor Gallagher get capped? He's **** terrible.
  9. I don't think they've trained for this. Such a poorly prepared side. They look like they've never played together before. They just assumed they'd stroll it.
  10. I'm not inclined to read too much into those games or results. Both matches we lost a key defender early on and both were away. It was also Newcastle's first home match of the season so that was always gonna be tough.
  11. I don't disagree but a bunch of the cases we're talking about aren't close calls. They're clear and obvious
  12. Why do they give these words removed a platform, why do they celebrate them? Farage is responsible, in no small part, for perhaps the most poisonous political landscape in the past 50 or 60 years.
  13. But that isn't always the case. It seems to depend on the linesman. Case in point during the Fulham match. Every through ball that Fulham played the lino kept the flag down in the second half. Even when the player was blatantly offside. Going the other way, when we played it forward the flag went up immediately for even some pretty close calls. In truth I prefer that. Let the lino make the call when it's clear they can. It stops all the bullshit.
  14. "The more you practice the luckier you get" The only con I can think of is the bloody linesmen don't give the offside when it's totally obvious. The play generally continues with defenders throwing themselves to block crosses, etc... when they shouldn't have to. Bailey got injured last time out doing just this. The other associated issue is the opposition players and fans get an unwarranted psychological boost of a shot on target or a disallowed goal. If the offside is called when it happens (as it should) they wouldn't have this advantage.
  15. I was thinking about this watching the AZ match on Thursday. It's got to the point where I think you could have a forward player who stands 25 yards offside for most of that game against us. A through ball to a wide man, who's onside, could then carry it forward and cross to the, now onside player who'd be free to take on a shot. Any defenders who would usually be covered him are miles away. He wouldn't be technically offside due to it being a different phase of play. This literally happened a couple of times and the ref and lino seemed perfectly happy.
  16. Sorry, you were expecting a loan signing from Turkey to play a key role for us?? Maybe we should view the signing as an opportunity for us to see if the Italian prodigy pre injuries still has something to offer. He clearly has talent and the physical attributes to contribute in this league. He's not there yet and he needs some time to develop into an Emery player. But there's been flashes here and there of what he can do. A little more consistency and some better decision making and he'll be some player. A excellent option in this squad. And if we want to challenge for trophies we need playing options.
  17. He's shit, he offer's nothing of any insight when commenting on football. He's a jolly idiot, a gameshow contestant. Pisses me off how no mark, no talent morons get rewarded for being fools. This all started years ago with Jade Goody and this is where we find ourselves today. This grinning bellend ubiquitous on virtually every mainstream football broadcast. Shit it!
  18. Thought he was outstanding tonight (the miss aside). Everything went through him. Defended brilliantly too.
  19. Did they look at the onside offside call for their goal "in the studio" after the game? I have no idea why it wasn't called for offside.
  20. He's working his nuts off... He's had zero service. How many times has a quick ball forward or cross been on and it's not been played???
