  1. Really? I love Unai but the league cup win was one of the best days of my life and MON had us so close to top 4. Let's give him time and hopefully he delivers silverware.
  2. Excellent today and also the captain we needed. Konsa looked certain to me to get a second yellow for his shove late on. JM was straight onto the ref after being alerted by Emi and managed to calm him. Also noticed him so vocal. On the right, him and cash really shut down a very dangerous Brighton left side.
  3. We looks so balance with him on the left, bring back Moreno as well and they will do so well.
  4. i like Cash but its also clearly a position we can upgrade upon. Its all part of the journey though. I wonder if we would have seen an upgrade this summer if the money wasnt needed for Mings and Emi cover?
  5. disappointing result but like others have said, the manner of performance is most worrying. Its easy to blame rotation but in reality, nearly everyone that appeared last night will need to play a role this season. The less involvement our fringe players have, the bigger them impact (negatively) when they play. I think teams typically use about 20 players across a season (villa actually had 20 players making at least 5 appearances last season), for me the answer is to find away to involve these players more and not less.
  6. it would be interesting to know if the "pro" shirts are actually the same as the club pro shirts and therefor carry the same issue. We need a couple of weatlhy VTers to put themselves through a full 90 minutes (actually 20 minutes should do it).
  7. Disent. He was well off, he knew he was as well by the way he stopped running and then tried a shot. Silly.
  8. That's what I keep thinking, pretty much everyone on the pitch will need to start games this season. Its not like we've thrown the kids out.
  9. Generally when he plays its with a weakened side. When he played last year in the spurs win and this year in was it the Burnley win, I don't remember us looking a shambles. He's a massive drop off from our world cup winning keeper, just don't think he's recently been as bad. I hope he doesn't prove me wrong now.
  10. Beat by a good finish after a **** up by the defence and midfield. Just don't think he's the first in line for blame. Saved well from dcl. I'm not olsens biggest fan but I just don't think he's been our biggest problem.
  11. Is he the problem tonight, not convinced.
  12. Another challenge with writing off this seasons kit is you'll need to refund the sales of it so far and replace it with nothing. I can see it happening, castore will just correct the manufacturing issue. We'll see if the club want to stick or twist with them as a future supplier. I can't see them changing. We've only recently picked them and there were obviously reasons for that. If we could have gone Adidas, nike etc, why didn't we. I imagine it's commercial related.
  13. A bit surprised if its not longer trusted. If he can't be on the bench in the carabao cup 4th round, what's the point in being here. Odd that we don't have him or Lenglet though.
  14. we had season tickets for a couple of years on the second row, my lad loved it, the view is brilliant for half the pitch but amazing to be close to the action. Your lad will have the best time (result permitting).
  15. I'm sure someone said in the revised plans for ground changes, it showed an expansion of behind dug out seats
  16. I was listening to bbc606 last night and a Chelsea fan was talking a bit about the changes owners are introducing. one change was hospitality style seating behind the dug out, these seats are to be on sale for 1600 per game. I'm sure I've seen Villa are looking at introducing something similar. A shame for those that already sit there and another indicator of the types of revenue and costs being pushed by other clubs.
  17. I think he's going through a quieter period. In some ways this is a plus as we're winning and we're not having to rely on him. Others will have quiet spells which is when we will need John. I quite like the fact that Unai will pull him off and not just stick with a struggling player because he's captain. Tielemans and Ramsey give us options in this position.
  18. Good points well made and I saw Ollie Watkins make similar comments. To be fair the two instances I pointed at, Cash was playing someone onside both times. I've not been Konsas biggest fan but think he's certainly improving.
  19. im a little torn on the Konsa performance yesterday. For me Emi was probably man of the match with a number of one on one saves. For a keeper to be making so many 1 on 1 saves, it suggests to me the defence isnt always doing its role. I thought Konsa lost Jackson for his one on one and i also thought Chilwell got in easily on the right. Maybe its the chemistry with Cash that still needs work. To balance that up i think his recovery tackling is excellent and hes started to take more responsibility with the ball, he played a great through ball for Cash in the first half. Nice to see that being added to his game.
  20. Yeah you have to credit Watkins for the pens he's won. In both instances he gets a very clean shot at goal from around 5-10 yards out if he is not fouled.
  21. Trying to work out how we can rest Digne as well, I wonder if we could see a back 3 with Ramsey dropping into a wing back role.
  22. I was wondering this, he must have played every minute. Wonder if we could see Pau or Lenglet at left back as it sounds like Moreno is some weeks away.
