  1. I think Brooker is doing it to prove a point about trolling.
  2. This. Although, looking at your avatar sheldon I'm not surprised. You may love Depeche Mode or you may hate them, but he is an awesome frontman. Was in the audience for that one. England had beaten Denmark 1-0 earlier in the day.
  3. Delete your cookies. May work. Certainly works with budget airlines, although only if you've been quitting before putting your details in...
  4. When I'm next to people playing loud music on their mobile phone I join in and play some loudly on my phone. Usually Bach.
  5. I was going to try a pooh post and I took my phone and everything, but I forgot. NPP
  6. I used to use Adrian Flux. Make up a low quote and they'll beat it.
  7. I think you should celebrate by having a triple espresso. At midnight.
  8. There are two sorts to my mind. The ones (eg in Mass Effect) where things are unlocked/enhanced in game and the ones that make no difference whatsoever (eg Civ V). I prefer the former. All that said, in LOTRO you earn 'titles' for doing stuff and you choose which one you want to display publicly, the idea being you change them regularly. I never change mine. I am a Pie Eating Champion. Hobbit ain't I?
  9. Barry Hearn has been complaining as league rules say you can't move to another team's patch. Unless you pay a lot of money. Levy was only ever after financial compensation and he's got it, at what cost to the public purse though? Of course, he doesn't give a **** about that. Re being miles away from the pitch, apparently there were going to be retractable seats that go over the running track.
  10. Hmmm. After a steep learning curve with Android, I'm really starting to get into my San Fran now. Don't see what's so awful about it in its vanilla (i.e. Orange) form, though. I ignore the apps I don't want, I've installed the ones I do, I've got it looking neat, and it does the job. Why would I want to root it, really? Things have changed since I rooted mine - the San Fran has since been officially upgraded from 2.1 to 2.2 which means a) it's quicker and you can install apps on the SD card , which can be up to 16 gb, as opposed to just on the phone which only has 512mb. At the time rooting it was the only way to do it. I'm not on orange, so unlocking it was necessary, and removing the apps I didn't want was desirable. I recall being told that there was a whole load of stuff that would slow the phone down, but you could only get rid of if you wiped the phone and rooted it. I never stuck with the orange stuff to find out if that was actually the case... I rooted and installed the Swedish....Rom from Modaco on my sons San Francisco and was surprised how easy it was. I used to play around with roms on my old Windows Mobile handsets and it always seemed to be a leap of faith half the time. The next step will be going from a Gen1 to a Gen 2 rom I suppose which might prove a little more tricky. Ooh, that was the first one I put on when I got my san fran. Is very nice. I then put on Cyanogenmod just to see: I kept it because the power bar was more configurable. Anyway I installed 7.1 last night and the difference is huge in terms of speed and battery life. May be worth looking at if you get the itch. I did change mine from gen1 to gen 2, but I think the CMmods do it automatically for you now. Possibly...
  11. London's great. And shit. Depends on where you'll be really...
  12. I used to work with his son, who was a jolly nice chap. Sad for him.

  14. Well, it was a big upgrade in terms of hardware, but because it doesn't look different everyone is disappointed. Apple made a rod for their own back.
  15. :? then why have it? I like the taste! Got a really nice machine and grinder at home and the depth of flavour is awesome. :? double confused now. Espresso has loads more caffeine in it than (a cup of) tea .... I know. Makes no sense. Maybe there's something else in the tea leaves, or maybe it's just a placebo response.
  16. I feel for you B6. It can be a bugger. For my part I have one triple espresso in the morning, which doesn't affect me one iota. Give me a cup of tea and I'm buzzing. Anyway, I guess moderation in all things, including moderation. Quitting must be saving you a few bob as well?
  17. Building a PC for my mum out of mine and my brother's spare parts. Like lego for adult geeks. Also all we were missing was a case: I am skint so bro ordered one and had it sent to me. He also included a new mouse for me as my decent one had just given up the ghost.
  18. Well, they're all different. It is complicated, but there are guides and the process has different stages, so you can do it in chunks. I did it on my Orange San Francisco and it's not shit any more. Key thing to remember is that you only need to root it once, then once it's done installing a new ROM is as easy as installing a new app and then rebooting.
  19. Congratulations old fruit. You can cement the relationship by forcing her to watch the Villa.
  20. I like spiders. When I see them about I just let them carry on. They eat flies and moths you know.
  21. Must say I feel uneasy about the honey trap thread; I don't find it funny at all, but then I didn't enjoy Borat either and that was really popular. It seemed to take advantage of people's good nature, sort of abusing their trust and the Honey Trap thread doesn't seem that different; taking the piss out of people for being gullible/stupid/full of hormones, which I think we've all been at some point. So, there it is, I've said it.
  22. Jammy bastard. I'd like to get a 10.1 tab, not because I'd use it, but just to annoy the apple people. Incidentally, Samsung have released a sort of beta as an alternative launcher here, or you could try Launcher pro or ADW Launcher EX
