I am another who is not sure about RDM, not because he is not a good coach/manager, I am just not sure he is the right fit for us at the minute, much like Garde imo. I think we need someone short term who is more of a disciplinarian 'to crack a few heads', maybe RDM is but he doesn't appear to be from the outside looking in. Either way if/when he is appointed he will get my full backing.

I am embarrassed for the Doc, it is ridiculous that he has to continue to justify himself to the media because of bullshit journalism, but for every new interview that he does I become more and more confident that good times are ahead. I look forward to his first public appearance at Villa Park when we give him a proper welcome rather than the current interrogations.

Don't waste your time waiting for big money signings tomorrow cos it's not happening, Villa are still cost cutting. Talk of Austin is laughable. I will be happy just to get Lescott. They have just laid off match day staff, many of whom you would recognise as regulars pitch side on match day, because of cuts. A guy I know has worked as match day host for over 30 years and has been laid off. He got paid £30 per game! Until we have been sold nothing will change. Fans deserve better.

Some bloke on Talksport last night said Adebayor was always a target even if Benteke had stayed. There will be another striker and he mentioned a bid for a Fiorentina striker but I didn't catch the name. Any ideas?

Just wondering would you have the said attitude towards ashley young? You're comparing him to Downing...really. Absolutely no comparison. Young did his time here and went with my best wishes despite my dislike for Man Utd. We looked after Downing and he jumped ship at the first opportunity
