  1. I'm getting worried about this Mclaren thing. His name just won't go away. All the papers this morning are saying he is favourite, while reporting that Ash is on his way to man utd this week and Lerner sees no point in trying to make him stay. If Schteve is appointed then it points to an owner and board that are becoming increasingly out of their depth and are running out of ideas as time goes on. The new board might be nice and cuddly but in effect little has changed since the Ellis days. In fact they are too nice and cuddly. All this "must be a manager with Prem experience but we don't really like to poach any other club's manager" is nonsense, if it's true. Football is a dog-eat-dog business. I hope Randy proves me wrong, but I'm increasingly concerned about the way the club is going. Competing for honours seems further away than ever.
  2. Hughes would be an underwhelming and safe choice by the board, guaranteed to keep us comfortably in this league, but not a lot more. Surely Ancelotti has to be on the shortlist?? If not, why the hell not?
  3. Oasis by a mile. Utterly contrived garbage. Basically a bad Beatles tribute band. To have a band like Nirvana in the same list as Oasis is just silly.
  4. As students we used to piss in the sink even when it was full of dishes. Toilet was upstairs, too far away I guess. Pretty grim to think about it now, at the time it made perfect sense.
  5. What a waste of talent he is sitting rotting on their bench. Wonder if he has any regrets?
  6. What a great result. Played like lions. Well done to GH and the boys. F@cking delighted!
  7. He needs to go. Now. Lerner needs to show some leadership, admit his mistake and bite the bullet. However I fear the people in charge of our club are naive about the seriousness of this situation, and football in general.
  8. Sheff Utd away is a very loseable tie the way things are shaping up. Hopefully by then we'll have a few bodies back in the squad.
  9. Anyone got a Kindle e-reader? Getting one for my b-day next month and quite looking forward to it.
  10. Yes I like it. But I'm 40 on the 27th. Bejaysus how did that happen?
  11. 40 miles up the M90, and 40 miles back each day. It's bloody expensive.
  12. We look like an extremely average mid-table side these days.
  13. Yes, let's see the children of the underclass starving in our streets. Get a grip.
  14. Multi-millionaire members of the country's elite ruling class telling us "we are all in this together" does stick in the craw somewhat.
  15. Well, no obviously. I don't think that precludes me from coming to a quite, quite sensible conclusion - £44k is enough to survive quite, quite well, £20 a week extra. My parents never came near earning that much in a year and raised 3 children very well. Never wanted for a thing. £20 extra is obviously helpful for anyone. But is it absolutely necessary for a household on at least £44k a year? I severely doubt it, and if it is necessary, theres a distinct possibility in my mind that theres something wrong with how you're looking after your money. When you have a mortgage, need to run 2 cars to keep the two adults of the household in jobs, and have to pay for food, council tax, petrol, house/life/car insurance, clothes, nappies, household maintenance then come back and tell me that £80 a month makes no difference. People who earn £22k/a couple on £44k are not well off.
  16. You obviously don't have kids and have never had to run a household.
  17. This child tax policy is ill-thought out and so imcompetently executed, it's laughable. Makes me fear what's coming down the road under this pair of 'in it together' nice-but-dims.
  18. All chestnut trees are not on main roads though. This one is, as I understand it. Kids throwing things in the tree could hit passing cars. Kids climbing up into the tree could fall into the path of oncoming traffic. They prevented these potential outxomes by making the tree less attractive to kids. What's the big deal?
  19. The tree is on main road, and sounds like a magnet for schookids. One girl has already been seriously injured. Well done to the Council for acting to make sure no other children were hurt. Protecting children from harm is a worthy use of taxpayers' money in my opinion.
  20. I see the Daily Mail is now giving Ed a hard time for saying he's atheist. "Save us from the godless communist!. Won't someone think of the children!!"
  21. Called them due to some anti-social behaviour in our old street in Edinburgh a few years back, and they were straight round in a panda within a few minutes. Confiscated all the booze off the young hoolies in question and sent them off with a flea in their ear and a few on-the-spot fines. Top copping from Lothian and Borders' finest.
