  1. Do you never ever, even for a second, question the veracity of what you believe in Julie? Without wishing to be offensive to you, you can plainly see from these pages that what you believe is bonkers to most other people. Does that not make you sit down sometimes and think why?
  2. You keep repeating this, but haven't explained what this evidence is that's making people question the standards of science and 'anthrapology'. Please expand on this a bit.
  3. My wife had our second son on August 19th. We already have one boy who was two last week. Life at home is now utterly mental (in a good way). Never get a spare second. It's sometimes a relief to come to work to get some peace, not something I ever thought I would say!! Fatherhood at 40 is exhausting but fun.
  4. This! I think he'll be great for us this season and will silence a lot of critics! This is just wishful thinking, with all due respect. All the evidence so far suggests he will offer us very little.
  5. Ireland is batshit crazy and should be shipped out. We cannot rely on players like him.
  6. The decision to appoint Mcleish is still deeply baffling. Without going over all the reasons again, it just made absolutely no sense. I think the board and CEO are way out of their depth.
  7. I'm nearly finished Keith Richards' Life. It's been a struggle. Pretty boring book for someone who's led such an interesting life. He comes over as a man with no depth whatsoever. "...Then Brian Jones died. The next day we had a gig in Brighton and I tuned my guitar with five strings on an open chord, it sounded fantastic."
  8. What this summer, and the previous few summers, show me is that Randy needs to seek further investment in the club if we are ever to achieve anything. Our best players join in a blaze of optimism, soon realise that we are going nowhere fast and use the club as a stepping stone on to bigger things. We can't compete with the likes of City, but we do need to have some kind of ambition and direction at the club if we are to attract and retain decent players. That direction and ambition seems to have vanished over the past couple of seasons. Now the board seem to be content just bumping along. We seem a bit clueless and rudderless at the moment. The farcical managerial search and appointment epitomises to me where we are as a club just now. IMO it's become obvious in recent month that the people running the club simply don't know enough about football. Players like Downing and Young will continue to come and go unless the board have a plan to compete. Bent will be off next summer, wait and see.
  9. I know what I think General, I was asking what you think the reasons are?
  10. Hi General, honest question. Why do you think our best players 'want out' year after year?
  11. He's a top keeper. Can't see why anyone would have a problem with bringing him in.
  12. I will support him now he is our boss. What choice do i have, i'm a villa fan first and foremost. We need to unite and move forward now for the good of the club.
  13. It's him isn't it lads. Don't think there's any way back now. This is unbelievable, truly unbelievable. It just makes no sense on any level at all.
  14. Jesus he might bring his old mucker Barry 'F*ckface' Ferguson with him. If that happened I think I would curl up and die. I'm almost at that stage already. This is sheer insanity from Lerner. If this is the best he can do then the "Proud History, Bright Future" PR guff is now looking very hollow indeed. It's looking increasingly like we have no glorious future under the Lerner regime. Mid-table mediocrity (if we are lucky) beckons, with all our best players leaving (no real change there). That 'done it in the big league' nonsense from Krulak proves to me that they have little idea about football, and are well out of their depth. The 'must-have premier league experience' stance is also narrow-minded and limits us to a handful of managers. It's all utterly depressing.
  15. That actually did happen to me a few years back. And I feel more gutted tonight than I did then
  16. Why the hell would we want to speak to him though? Makes no sense to me...
