I wouldn't like to gamble on anymore youngsters for the time being thanks. These types of players have the understanding of what its like to be in a relegation fight, their knowledge could be vital.

Obviously we can all dream of the Marin's, Milners and co but here are a couple of REALISTICALLY obtainable players who I think could strengthen us and steady the ship for a few months; Danny Murphy (Blackburn) - mentioned previously, hugely experienced and could slot in as captain to mentor the young kids. Pedersen (Blackburn) - Again easily obtainable and has premier league experience. Zat Knight (Bolton) - Commanding presence and could really organise the back 3/4. Would love to come back I'm sure. Kevin Davies (Bolton) - Outstanding professional, cameo appearances from the bench or as a starter would be extremely valuable in our current state. Excellent role model for the likes of Weimann and Benteke.

Immense experience so could even come in as captain for half a season. We have to be looking at these sorts of short team deals for experienced pros.

Indeed I was kidding hence the 'in all seriousness' in the next line. We have been absolutely appalling.

The way wigan played today, I think they would have put goals past most teams... In all seriousness PL does not have the necessary man management skills to get the best out of ordinary players. There are some managers who thrive with limited players but PL has clearly displayed he doesn't have that in his locker at this early stage in his career. Now whether or not he can get more established players to perform will depend on whether he is given some funds to spend but more problematic will be attracting such established players to come to a team that is looking championship fodder.

Hope so too, we could do with more out of their depth nobodies from the championship and below

Lambert has invested in kids. The kids have proven so far to be so out of their depth it is unreal. Now you can accept defeats with kids but defeats of this nature suggest to me that PL doesn't have the man management ability of predecessors.
