  1. At least they don't have ryan woods running the show in midfield for them....The performances he put in against us whilst we were both in the championship were ridiculous. Tbh, I'm not sure why they got rid of Marcondes, I thought he was one of their better players last year, definitely would have kept him around for first season in the premier league. I really do think this game can go either way on the day, we will have to be in loud voice tommorow and hopefully a bit more lively than last week. 6 points on the board before international break will do wonders for the confidence of the players and settle us fans
  2. yeah, that was a real worldie of a goal. he did used to score long range shots, but i doubt he will ever do anything like that again
  3. Surprised to see him making a move like this, but it could be just what he needs. Get away from England, out of your comfort zone, immerse yourself in the local culture and throw yourself into football to really reignite the career. Could be the making of him. More than good enough for the championship and I think that Sheffield Wednesday would have kept him around if they didn't have financial problems or their current owner. They have let a few players go recently that have been important for them in recent seasons such as Adam Reach, who is now at the baggies. Good luck Andre
  4. Michael Owen has predicted us to win 2-1, Lawro 2-0. Sounds good to me!
  5. thats a valid point aswell which i didnt think of. Maybe both parties will reach the end of the year and realise its best to part ways. Alternatively he could do awful there or not as good as they hoped, and a barkley situation occurs. Either way, good luck to him
  6. No option to buy, so perhaps Deano does indeed see him as playing a part in the team, either as a starter or off the bench, in due course. I think this loan will be a great chance for him to play regular football in a much less pressured and intense environment. The ideal conditions for recovery and getting the basics right again imo. Hopefully he can come back with a decent amount of goals and assists under his belt and raring to go for pre season next year. Depening on how successful we are this campaign, there could indeed be many more games which he will get a chance in.
  7. Hoping for a cameo appearance (maybe even along with a goal or 2 ;)) from the young Archer tommorow. It would be good if we did keep him around, similar to what city have done with Foden - yes he could have gone out on loan, but this way he can train with the first team, learn lots from them and enjoy being on board and hopefully getting minutes and experience.
  8. Wanted him in last summer when there were rumours, very impressive talent and would improve the starting 11 immeasurably.
  9. I think its fine personally. Not fantastic, brilliant or whatever, but adequate. I never buy the replica shirts anyway, the one I did buy was the final game of the 2011/2012 season vs Spurs I think it was when they had them on sale in the club shop for £10. All the home ones were flying off the shelves so I bought the away genting casino shirt which I still wear sometimes.
  10. This is going to be tougher than the previous home game, I think Brentford will come to VP with the intention of imposing their game and style on us. Toney up front worries me as that is the sort of physical striker we have had difficulty in combatting before, particularly from set pieces or the striker winning a knock down for someone else to finish. I'm sure we've been doing a lot of set pieces in training to counter exactly those common scenarios, so fingers crossed we are able to keep them under control. If we can stop them from set pieces and counter attacks, then we have players of our own who are more than capable of sticking the ball away. Would be fantastic to get a win prior to the international break and Chelsea, but could go either way. Hoping for a cracking game of football
  11. well we beat em in may and they went on to win the champions league, why not again!?
  12. The youtube stream is taking ages to start broadcasting again....
  13. Tough night for him and the team tonight! 8-0 loss....was kind of hoping Southampton could get a 9-0 win as they have suffered 2 9-0 defeats in the last couple of years and that would have gone some way to remedying that
  14. pretty crazy how they paid 7 mil for Antonio who wasn't even brought in to be a striker and he is now their top scorer ever in the premier league, barely 6 years later! I remember a friendly we played against the hammers a couple of seasons ago in the pre season, think it was at walsall's stadium, i was thinking we need a player like Antonio for our first prem season back, someone who will give 100% effort
  15. amazing how all the strikers bought in that summer have bombed in the premier league despite big prices and big expectations - Joelinton, Haller, Wesley....
  16. get him signed up for another 3 or so years, dosen't complain, usually solid enough and someone who most of us would be comfortable playing in the prem to cover an injury. Scores a few from corners aswell which is something our other defenders need to improve on
  17. One thing you can't complain about regarding El Ghazi is Output. He is the opposite of Adama in that respect. He is a confiedence player who will be sky high after tonight and saturday so I am hoping we throw him in from the start and he continues his positive start to the season with a goal or 2. Great bit of business by us getting him in for the price we did.
  18. we haven't seemed to have had much luck with French speaking players in recent years have we? Benteke was an obvious exception, but the 2015 intake bombed out and went onto success, although that was with a toxic atmosphere too. Engels went earlier in the season, who is probably someone Guilbert would have been friendly with. We haven't treated him the best tbh, there is definitely a player in there and im confident that if he does leave he will find his way back to the prem at some point. I just hope he gets given oppirtunities because whilst cash is usually solid enough, there are times when we could use another option.
  19. Super impressed from this performance tonight. Got to be 3rd choice striker, surely. All of his finishes were very calculated and natural, you can tell that he is one who has that natural finishing ability. Got to be on the bench against Brentford if he dosen't go out on loan before then, for sure.
  20. Archer looks like a real quality striker, very silky, pacy and capable of very high standards of finishing. we have to see more of this kid. Looks like he has a knack for that scoring thing haha
  21. Brilliant rifle of a shot from Guilbert...we need to see more of him in the PL
  22. AS cameron archer chip over the goalie...probably the pick of the bunch, was beautiful
  23. 2 goals and 2 assists for el goalzi. good showing and hope he plays against brentford. come on ramsey get a goal
