  1. We're going to lose quite a few games this season so we had better get used to it. Anyone thinking we're going to hit the ground running, in this league, with 12 new players is sadly mistaken.
  2. I know, I'm one of them. I was making a snarky remark to someone making a snarky remark about him missing snarky remarks over the summer. Not suprised you got confused I thought we did really well first half, kept them to 1 real chance. Ran out of steam 2nd half and made some silly errors against a very, very good team. Nobody who thinks we did pretty well is saying it was a close game...they ran out comfortable winners in the end. We have 12 new players...it may take us 10 games to get going, so judgement should maybe reserved until we see more than 90 minutes versus the like of spurs away from home.
  3. I admire your optimism but when we go 10 without a win he'll be having dogs abuse off the resident bone heads. The days of a manager having the time and freedom to do what SAF did are long gone.
  4. I dunno...I was reading an article earlier about the 'haul' they got for OBJ off us browns! And Peppers feels disrespected. He said he's got another chip on his shoulder, so you should have a well balanced safety on your hands
  5. Don't forget we still have...ahem....'jimmy danger'
  6. This is what has impressed me too. All players playing to a single system, and playing good football. Again, yes it's only walsall, but how many times have we played lower league teams in recent seasons, either in friendlies or cup games, and just looked really laboured and failed to put them away?? We did exactly what we should have tonight, played a lesser team off the pitch and scored goals in the process.
  7. I tend to agree with this. We could end up seeing him play in the Premier League but I don't think it will be for us. We just haven't got the time or space for him to develop...which is what he needs. I too love SGC complete faith in our youngsters
  8. Mmm....O'leary anyone? I don't get this continued debate about bruce. As I see it, he was EXACTLY the right man at the right time for us, made us difficult to beat, sorted the attitudes out of a few and simplified things on the pitch. I think we all knew his limitations and that he wouldn't be in it for the long term, be it being sacked or jumping into bed with another team. He was the link between where we were and where we are now. It's difficult to predict but I personally doubt whether dean smith could have done the job bruce did AT THAT TIME. I don't get the personal anger with him by a few....I actually quite liked him sniping back at some fans, why should he take that level of personal abuse? Anyhow, he's with someone else now and we've found someone better.
  9. I had to replace a blown engine on my car a few years back...it was a second hand engine that had done 50k miles less than the one it replaced. I thought, does that now mean the car has done 50k less, how about other parts that have been replaced?...what actual components determine the mileage of the car?
  10. It's the current trend of analysing everything to death. I predict we will get really bored of it by 2028 and go back to liking something, or maybe not
  11. Villatalk is the home of the sweeping statement
  12. He's been a great player for us, no doubt....and his value, of course, has gone up considerably....but if there is any truth in this story, which I very much doubt, then we should snap their hands off. He is one of the players I think may well struggle with the step up in standard. Like someone posted earlier, he seems to be on the verge of miscontrolling the ball but then doesn't. I think his hustle and bustle style might be found at the top level. 50 mill for a player with no prem experience?...not a chance
  13. Heard this same story from my brother in law a few months back. He was on poor money and the rise he was getting was about 5k a year. He was over the moon as he's a young lad in his first rented house, so the extra money was very welcome. Next time i saw him he was despondant...saying they cant increase his money more than a certain percentage in one go!!! Well that all went out of the window when he handed in his notice, he'd been offered a similar job elsewhere for the money he should be getting. Oh, er, yeah....we've had a word with the big boss and he's authorised your pay increase immediately. Representatives for Wellingborough
  14. Yeah I don't get this. Why not just say from the off, 'yeah we all supported blues as kids but I'm playing for villa now and it's my livelihood.' That would have been a reasonable statement to make, and barring a few boneheads, I'm sure villa fans would have been able to accept that. I just hope he doesn't stoop as low as his brother did when he did that 'them lot up the road' interview.
  15. Yep I'm afraid this sums it up. I said before that a lot of them on sha forum are decent blokes...until they talk about us.
  16. Dreamt we lost 0-2...everyone back to bed, it's over. I'll have ur ticket if u want rid
  17. I would imagine derby are just ahead of us...they had sold all their allocation by the weekend...we're a couple of days behind thats all. There's no way they would do this for one club and not the other.
  18. I would imagine it will start at 3+ games again. All the 5+ would have been taken care of and its only fair for us 3+ scumbags
  19. Where have you heard this?
