Delighted Chelsea won. Just because Chelsea have won it doesn't mean our achievement in 1982 is any less brilliant. Also, to all the people saying Chelsea were lucky etc... how is it any different from us in 82? We were battered for the whole game and still won. Infact, Bayern seem to have a habit of outplaying English teams and losing (us, Man U in 99 and last night!) Well done Chelsea!

The people of Solihull I know definitely do NOT class themselves as Brummies. Same with Sutton Coldfield and that is even in Birmingham now (post 1974)

Shame. He had it all and should have made far more of his career than he did. When you compare him to the young players that have broken through to our first team in recent years, Hendrie was miles better than them. The 2nd leg vs Atletico Madrid at VP stands out for me... if you watch the video on youtube you will see how effective he was at such a young age. Cracking atmosphere that night as well! I know he was a bit of a cnut when he was out drinking, something I experienced first hand, but i do feel sorry for him now :-(

Sorry for not being born earlier :| Villa and Man U were challenging for the title (Man U hadn't won it in 26 years) and Man City obviously wanted to keep it that way. We beat them 3-1 that day but the City fans didn't seem that bothered they had lost as it pushed us closer to the title. I really thought we would win it that year but we bottled it. Just like in the 89-90 season :-(

Also saw Henrik Larsen (Euro 92 winner) and Steve Staunton's brother (Tommy I think?) play for the Villa reserves at Bescot. Didn't Alan McLoughlin sit on the bench for us a few times but never play?

David Hughes - came through the ranks and played a couple (if that) games at Centre Back. John McGrath - saw him come off the bench at one game... might have been his only appearance.

I watched Taken as well.. think its a great action film. Although, as you say, his daughter is very annoying. She seems to be 17 going on 10! Watched Law Abiding Citizen after Taken. I think I saw too much violence last night!

Ahhh makes me want to go back! Always have a great time in Bangkok. What did you think of Q Bar and Bed Supperclub? Never been to Insomnia but gone past it plenty of times. Climax is meant to be decent (just up from Bed Supperclub in the basement of the Ambassador Hotel). Got great memories of Samui as well :-)

Hmmm not sure yet. Haven't taken a day off work yet this year so still got 6 weeks to take. Might do a week in the Isle of Wight soon... been 25 years since i've been there so might go back for old times sake. Stop at the same hotel as we used to as a family. Always like to do a week in Sharm in about October time.. recharge the batteries etc. Basically just lounge around by the pool with my ipod and kindle and chill out. Weather is still in the early 30's. I don't think I could manage it in the height of summer as it would be too hot. Would like to do 2 weeks in Brazil as well, perhaps around November/December. Chill out for a bit in Rio and then see a few other places. A mate wants to do 2 weeks in Thailand in June/July time but might pass. Been there 4 times in recent years so think i have seen enough. Wouldn't mind going back to Cambodia and Vietnam at some point again and also Burma and Laos as haven't ticked them off my list yet. More likely next year though as need to save some time and money for a new property and car.

So the twist was obvious the second time you saw this film? :? Well of course! What I meant to say was that the clues were obvious straight away what the twist was and I should have got it the first time I saw it.

Watched a few films on the TV over the weekend.. Sixth Sense on Friday. First time i've seen it since it was on at the cinema and watching it again, the twist is obvious! Although I will admit I didn't see the twist coming the first time I saw it. Watched Mission Impossible on Saturday ad Munich last night. Munich was very well made but not sure of the historical accuracy of some of the things in there.

We have enough baby bores at work. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that their child is great and healthy and the apple of their eye etc but just don't talk to me about them. I have no interest in them! These same people when on holiday from work and they will 'pop in' to the office with their kids... annoys the shit out of me! Yes, you can tell I have no urge to have children!

Apocalypse Now on 9pm tonight if you fancy something different to the football. ITV 4.

Sutton Coldfield Town are my nearest team.. has anyone been to see them? Might try and take a few games in next season.
