  1. I watched Taken as well.. think its a great action film. Although, as you say, his daughter is very annoying. She seems to be 17 going on 10! Watched Law Abiding Citizen after Taken. I think I saw too much violence last night!
  2. Ahhh makes me want to go back! Always have a great time in Bangkok. What did you think of Q Bar and Bed Supperclub? Never been to Insomnia but gone past it plenty of times. Climax is meant to be decent (just up from Bed Supperclub in the basement of the Ambassador Hotel). Got great memories of Samui as well :-)
  3. Hmmm not sure yet. Haven't taken a day off work yet this year so still got 6 weeks to take. Might do a week in the Isle of Wight soon... been 25 years since i've been there so might go back for old times sake. Stop at the same hotel as we used to as a family. Always like to do a week in Sharm in about October time.. recharge the batteries etc. Basically just lounge around by the pool with my ipod and kindle and chill out. Weather is still in the early 30's. I don't think I could manage it in the height of summer as it would be too hot. Would like to do 2 weeks in Brazil as well, perhaps around November/December. Chill out for a bit in Rio and then see a few other places. A mate wants to do 2 weeks in Thailand in June/July time but might pass. Been there 4 times in recent years so think i have seen enough. Wouldn't mind going back to Cambodia and Vietnam at some point again and also Burma and Laos as haven't ticked them off my list yet. More likely next year though as need to save some time and money for a new property and car.
  4. So the twist was obvious the second time you saw this film? :? Well of course! What I meant to say was that the clues were obvious straight away what the twist was and I should have got it the first time I saw it.
  5. Watched a few films on the TV over the weekend.. Sixth Sense on Friday. First time i've seen it since it was on at the cinema and watching it again, the twist is obvious! Although I will admit I didn't see the twist coming the first time I saw it. Watched Mission Impossible on Saturday ad Munich last night. Munich was very well made but not sure of the historical accuracy of some of the things in there.

We have enough baby bores at work. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that their child is great and healthy and the apple of their eye etc but just don't talk to me about them. I have no interest in them! These same people when on holiday from work and they will 'pop in' to the office with their kids... annoys the shit out of me! Yes, you can tell I have no urge to have children!
  7. Apocalypse Now on 9pm tonight if you fancy something different to the football. ITV 4.
  8. Sutton Coldfield Town are my nearest team.. has anyone been to see them? Might try and take a few games in next season.
  9. Blues are welcome to the name of the city! They swagger around as if it actually means something. Thick knuckle dragging mongoloids.
  10. I still havent forgiven the word removed for scoring in the 2000 cup final. My anger was directed at our players who never turned up for the occasion. I remember walking away from Wembley that day wondering how could we be so shit in an FA Cup final!
  11. Chelsea to edge it 1-0. I hope they do as I like Di Matteo.
  12. Ahh the Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone books.. I think I had the whole collection. Or very nearly. I met one of them once (can't remember which one) at WH Smiths in Brum.. he was doing a signing. Seemed a nice bloke and chatted for a bit with me.

    Do you read?

I'll be picking up Skagboys as well this week. As with Rev, Trainspotting is one of my favourite books.
  14. Too easy? I think only 15 of the 44 starters finished. Plus 2 fatalities. How is that too easy? Only 40 started, (which IMO is too many 30 would be so much safer) The real problem is that National Hunt horses are getting smaller and lighter, much like their flat racing cousins. There simply not bred to jump and land over hurdles like they used to be, its more about speed. Put Desert Orchid next to Neptune Collonges and the difference would be remarkable. Thanks for correcting me... I read 44 in a paper but wasn't sure it was accurate. I'm not saying ban the National, but it appears to me that more fatalities happen in this face (on average) than any other National Hunt race? Happy to be proven wrong but I don't hear of the same level of deaths in Cheltenham for the Gold Cup or Kempton for the King George. What's the answer? Reduce the size of the field? I read somewhere that while reducing the height of the fences may help in one way, it also means that the horses then approach the fences quicker negating the difference.

  16. Fantastic team but i'd have Cantona in there.. somewhere! Just not sure who i'd drop...
  17. Pandas People moaning about the cost of first class stamps going up
  18. What is your job? Nothing exciting, I just work for a bank. Are you based there mate? I work in the Citi building (number 25). and just to join in, I can occassionally be seen staring out of the windows at HSBC, usually up around flr 36 and sometimes / rarely up in the 40's Haven't visited for some time now I think about it. They had a full evacuation drill once when I was up around 40, it took 30 minutes to walk down and out of the building. Very sobering. Not based there no, just had a meeting there (HSBC). I work in the salubrious surroundings of Five Ways in Brum! Floor 36? Is that Trade Services.. or is that 37? Can't remember... anyway, impressive stuff. Early 40's is where the chief works (42 I think?)

  20. Jocky is part of the 'old guard'. Along with Bristow, Lowe, Anderson, Dellor, Rees, 'Big' Cliff Lazarenko etc. Back when they used to drink pints on stage!
  21. Been a lovely day today... which I have witnessed from meeting rooms in Canary Wharf or on trains. Spent the grand total of about 10 mins outside today :-(

I'll always be a Villa fan but I simply don't care enough about the club anymore to get annoyed when we lose or play bad. Been like this for a couple of years. Rather watch Rugby Union or Cricket now
  23. 20 miles is nothing! Just ask her if she fancies meeting up one day for a proper chat - ie not over facebook. See how it goes. No point over complicating things is there? You may meet up and there is no spark.. least you've tried.
  24. Where you staying? Sukhumvit Road is the main strip in BKK. Close to Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy - the 2 main gogo bar areas. They are always worth a visit. There are a few conventional clubs around there (Liquid on Soi 4 for example). There is the Q Bar and Bed Supperclub (think it might be called the Grey Goose club now) are on Soi 11. There are more clubs on RCA but that is a taxi ride from Sukhumvit. Chaweng Beach is the main area in Samui.
