  1. Can't complain for a free transfer. But I really only see chambers as a back up player. I seem to be in the minority who didn't think he had a particular good game on the weekend. First half especially he seemed a bit lost, uncomfortable on the ball and his lack of mobility doesn't suit for DCM. I assumed he was thrown in to be another big guy to challenge Burnley's set pieces but he didn't stand out for me on Saturday. That said, he's proven to be a steady enough CB when called upon, but not what I want at DCM. I also understand he isn't expected to be a starter in this position. Decent enough squad player for cover at best.
  2. True, it's been a while since I've heard us belt that out. I actually don't love it tbh, but when a full away end or Hole sing it it does sound emphatic.
  3. He looked very good on Saturday. Pleased to see him drive at players. The lad Cleary has confidence and composure, that was also clear when he came on against Leicester at home. Would like to see more of him as he's obviously a talent.
  4. Think we'll really see the best of this guy next season after a solid uninterrupted pre-season. His quality is there for sure. Really like his energy and athleticism. A great addition who, given some time, will hopefully help us improve.
  5. One of our most technically gifted players we've had in the Prem and Gerrard will sell him. He's pure class all over the pitch.
  6. Plus, as I always end up spouting on here, we never ever seem to benefit from players or teams playing in midweek before a game against us. It's just a myth that we can take advantage because we never seem to. See Arsenal last week as a prime example. So frustrating.
  7. Yeah I don't remember any mention of McGinn picking up a tenth booking against Arsenal
  8. Would love to sign him but feels unlikely. If Leeds had any sense they'd throw a load of money at him as he's integral to that team and also the fans. Can't see this happening and we'll most likely end up chasing him only for him to pie us in the face by staying put. He'd improve us greatly.
  9. They made 8 changes from their midweek game and played a much weaker team in that game.
  10. I find myself saying the same thing most weeks but we really don’t ever seem to benefit/capitalise on another team playing an extra game than us.
  11. Pleased for Kienan. I think he's found his level as he's shining in the Championship. He'll likely never score too many but can do a good job for teams like Forest.
  12. How Ings gets replaced before Watkins is just baffling.
  13. Game was like a pre season friendly for the first half. Felt nailed on to be a 0-0 but I guess what added to the exhibition feeling to the game was the fact their stadium is utterly soulless. Architecturally beautiful but far from being a football ground. Devoid of any charm or character for an away fixture. We went back to being soft and open. Didn’t control the midfield atall and didn’t play with any real plan, intent, energy or urgency. That let a very mundane West Ham team get the better of us. Felt very avoidable but we didn’t offer anything so got as much as we deserved. All felt like we were riding the highs of the last three wins so treated this like a free hit. Needed some fresh legs and energy from Buendia and Sanson. We looked fatigued. Poor by Gerrard today.
  14. Konsa is our most assured player so comes straight in for me. Chambers got royally exposed against Watford's pace so Leeds will have plenty of that. No question for me that Cons is a better natch up against these. Same goes for Young, Digne should come back in. Much more athletic and has more pace and energy than Young which we'll need.
  15. I didn't. I absolutely should have. Colby's wrestling is elite and he just stifled Jorge from the first round. Masvidal had his chance after he dropped him in the fourth but was clearly too gassed to capitalise. Really enjoyed the card. Pleased for Holland and was a top performance by Mitchell. Complete domination on the ground.
  16. Very pleased Gerrard has gone back to instilling performances akin to when he first arrived. Kept things simple. What impressed me today was seeing how he changed things up to nullify our opponent’s style and threat. More of the same please Steven.
  17. He’s always had an assist in him. Remember that crazy assist for Bailey against Everton. Sublime. He’s a very very intelligent player and a lethal finisher. Just needs a run of games and I’m personally very happy, and surprised, how well the partnership with Watkins has looked these past two games.
  18. Wasn’t referring to any of the goals from today.
  19. If he did then it wouldn’t ever have been flagged. There’s no “Bulls***” from my side, I noticed it myself before I read it elsewhere. To clarify, it’s not an issue of him being “there” that people are referencing, of course he’s there, eventually. Barely ever the first to congratulate a team mate, trots over slowly after the others get there, It’s his body language. If he can get back to scoring regularly then I expect to see him looking and showing he’s more pleased when his team mates score, as it was never an issue last season, which coincides with him scoring loads, but if you watch our goals this season when someone else has scored you’ll see his body language doesn’t give the impression of someone who is overly pleased for his team mates. But you’re entitled to your view, of course. I’m not in for a debate.
  20. He honestly doesn’t. He’ll eventually trot over when the rest of the squad is there with the goal scorer but he’s never elated like others are when he scores. It’s evident in plenty of goals we’ve scored this season. But he was excellent today and perhaps it’s a confidence thing. We just want Ollie happy and scoring.
  21. Fantastic win and performance. Kept it so simple to completely nullify the threat from the opposition as we got behind their lines so much, and created plenty of chances. Goal before HT was massive for us and that mad ten mins showed how clinical we can be. With our talent across the squad we should be creating plenty and today we showed our potential. Clean sheet was so good to see too. Looked back to how we started under Gerrard and that’s precisely what we needed to do.
  22. In a nutshell, he said Carney isn’t in the squad but could make Leeds, Traore back training and that our owners are very ambitious. Oh and that he’ll have a think about the set piece coach requirement at the end of the season. Also that he wants us to get back to being hard to beat at home.
  23. Panic over. It allows me to watch it now. Must be embargoed for Villa TV+ as priority then allow it to other members later on.
  24. How we feeling about Colby v Masvidal this weekend? Decent card with Mitchell, Barbosa too and I'm a fan of Kevin Holland, so articulate and humble too. Hope he bags the win. I've been undecided as to whether the beef with Colby and Masvidal is genuine. I think it most likely is for Jorge as he's just a pure fighter. Colby just knows how to drive attention and viewers to his fights as well as push buttons with his opponents. It's all a game to Colby I feel. Interesting match up and can't wait for it. I think it'll likely go 5 rounds and probably Colby taking decision. But Jorge is a savage and if Colby lets his guard down the. Jorge can be explosive. On the other hand, Colby's athleticism and cardio is insane so he could overwhelm Masvidal. Can't wait.
