Were he not employing poor tactics, making questionable formation and starting xi choices and nonsensical and baffling substitutions id agree. But these things point to a man out of his depth and/or completely clueless. He needs trimming with the rest of the dead wood.

The complete disparity between the managers chosen tactics and the players we signed in jan tells me Bruce didnt choose the signings. Our tactics appear to be to defend, lump it forward and hope one of our forwards does it all on his own. Then why go and sign two of the best ball players in the division if your tactics are to bypass midfield? It just doesnt add up to me and i think if villa are to improve it needs to be under a different manager.

To be quite honest ive seen grealish offer nothing to suggest he is championship quality let alone prem quality. Yes he has some natural talent but he has no brain, no instinct and no common sense. For me the forest game shows me Bruce is even more clueless than i feared he was before he arrived. i'm not sure what all the fuss about grealish is about. Based on how he's performed on the pitch for villa he's nothing more than average. I'd not think to hard about selling him if a decent offer was made - i dont think he offers us much at all.

I don't understand your basis for this. He's got a decent record of getting things right and comes across honest and admits when things don't work out rather than making excuses.

doesn't that depend on what the player sees as the best thing for his career? Maybe he sees getting game time every week in a lower league as more important than sitting in the reserves at Villa, despite being a fan? It's not what I would do but I could see why he might want to consider it. We also don't know what conversations have taken place in private rather than what we have seen in public - there is nothing to say that what we are seeing printed is the same as what has been said to him behind closed doors. To answer your question, no I don't think that we have made a derisory offer, but just because I don't think it and you don't think it doesn't mean RHM doesn't think it, and doesn't mean it couldn't be the case. It's speculation given that the decision has taken longer than expected making it a reasonable possibility.

maybe the offer isn't very good? It's all well and good that he's a local lad and so on but it has to be the right move for his career too and of the contract isn't good and the manager doesn't have him in his plans then it might be time for him to move on. I'd rather he stayed of course, but he may not feel wanted.
