Also remember that Rafa at newcastle has already had several month managing the team in the Premier League to get a grasp of who he likes and who he doesnt and where the squads strengths and weaknesses ate. Rdm has had 2 weeks. So its hardly surprising that we are moving slower than them...

I think its great to have him back at Villa, and i do believe his presence alone would have a massive impact on the entire squad. However, i'm not convinced that he is going to be up to the level required to get a lot of games or game time. I've also read that what he wants is to be playing football as often and as much as possible. So if RDM doesnt think he will play a lot of games he wont be staying. Fingers Crossed for him though - above anyone associated with villa in recent times Stan deserves a break!

i'm undecided on Sanchez really. As many have said one week he's class and the next dog poo. With the leadership on and off the pitch (or rather lack thereof), it could be as simple as new leadership resolves his inconsistent form. Having said that, i'm not convinced he is big or strong enough for the championship. and his stamina also worries me. If it were a straight choice between him and Gueye, i'd be saying Gueye all day long

i actually think there is a player in there somewhere (admittedly not as a centre back). I'd be of the opinion that his biggest issue when playing at full back was a lack of strong leadership, managerial and coaching direction, and above all poor tactics. I wouldn't be upset about him having another shot in the Championship (assuming he has taken a significant wage cut)

Scott Sinclair is what i'd call a luxury player. He doesnt work hard but if you are playing well he could be decent. I dont think we are good enough as a team to keep him and make use of his abilities - we lack quality across the board. We're also too lightweught in every department for the championship. We are crying out for a couple of bruisers to stop us getting bullied by every team in the division.

Well lets compare: The villa takeover was announced on 17/05/2016 - 15 days ago and the takeover is not yet ratified. The swansea takeover was confirmed yesterday and the sky article states the test takes up to 10 days and will be completed by the 10th. Thats already a good deal shorter than how long ours has been ongoing for. Someone somewhere is having a laugh -

What i dont get is how long this test is taking. There is an article on the sky sports website (sorry mods i cant seem to get the copy/paste to work on my phone) stating the test can take as long as 10 days. I may be wrong but it seems like the test for Dr Tony has been ongoing for a lot more than 10 days at this stage?!?!?!? -

the defeat rests solely on the 'manager' for me. a defender gets sent off so he replaces a striker (correct move) with a midfielder (erm, what?) then replaces a defensive midfielder with an attacking one when down to ten men (erm, what!?!?!) When he has another defender on the bench, and another sub to make... baffling...

Lets be honest, i cant think of a single player id be bothered about not being here for the start of next season. They are all very easily replacable imo

Did we really try though? Or did the board intentionally chase players they knew wouldnt go through? Work permit rules are pretty easy to research. Its was always unlikely that permit would be approved.
