  1. Aren't real ones about €100+ per 10g or something stupid? On that basis, I'm not that keen to try!
  2. Surely Punch and Judy are traditionally glove puppets? (or is that the point I'm missing entirely?)
  3. The weather can be a bit shit though, can't it? Tell me about it, I sick of waiting for my lawn to start growing so I can test out my new petrol mower! Rob needs a haircut....
  4. That was just horrid to hear on the news that foriegn mercenaries were being brought in kill protestors in Libya. Paid to slaughter, just to keep the powerful and corrupt in situ and the enraged masses at bay. "Man's inhumanity to Man"... shameful. I'll be surprised if Nigeria doesn't explode sometime soon. It's an absolute powder cake over there as well. It's the same in Bahrain, mostly foreigners in the police / army. I think a large part of those forces are normally made up of foreigners, but they are deployed against protesters as they are less likely to switch sides.
  5. Thanks for that Well done, thats some serious running. Hey, if I can run 14 miles anyone can! When I started training in Sept last year it was the first exercise I'd done in years, and I couldn't run even half a mile then! And it's not an exaggeration, I really didn't have the fitness to do that!! How far would you normally run? I'm gonna keep on my 4.6k Route for about a month and then move up to a 10.3k. This is easily the best site for mapping. I Could have just doubled the first route but I'd much rather a circuit than laps. I normally do 4 or 5 miles two evenings a week, and a longer run (8-12 miles) at the weekend, although once I've done my half I'll start cutting back a little bit because the girlfriend gets annoyed with me spending so much time out. I wouldn't try to increase in that big of a jump! I normally only went up in increments of about a mile and I think that works better.

  7. 14 miles this morning, my longest ever run. Took me 2h8m and my legs are a little stiff but feeling ok and confident about my first half marathon in 2 weeks!
  8. Yes, try this Couch to 5k worked brilliantly for me, I'd recommend it to anyone starting out. Edit: this podcast was good for me
  9. QE II Vs some bird who gets her tits out? Not the greatest analogy imo. Yes, Katie Price got to where she is today without being born into that privilaged position. To compare her to someone who got where they are simply by being born is an insult to Katie Price.
  10. Couch to 5k worked brilliantly for me, I'd recommend it to anyone starting out. Edit: this podcast was good for me
  11. Maybe we could put ours on ebay and sell them to one of these countries?
  12. Yes, I always like this one. Go to Stratford-upon-Avon; The fact that Shakespeare is no longer their doesn't keep people away. It's the same concept, it's the history and tradition that brings in tourists, not what is actually there now. We don't need posh people with silly made up titles to attract tourists.
  13. Cheers mate. I think keep the monarchy. And so do the vast majority of people in their early 20s that i know. Grow up. I find it ironic that someone who supports the monarchy also uses "majority" as part of their argument.
  14. It's the 21st Century, anyone who thinks a royal family can have any possible relevant role in the world is either brain washed or brain dead.
  15. Fixed. Like you, I really can't even start to understand how anyone could want a monarchy.
  16. Yes, military dictators are great!! :bang: I think it's an absolute disgrace that Cromwell's statue stands in Parliament Square. The guy was a military dictator. He had no interest in establishing democracy. The guy was offered the crown to limit his power and his plan for his succession just happened to be his son! And as for the royal family, please, this is not the middle ages, what are they still doing here?
  17. I thought Mort was very good. I'm reading Colour of Magic at the moment in between some other things and am a little disappointed so far in comparison.
  18. He would be already if he had been played, he should be played regularly from now on, him and bent would be my dream strike partnership they would be lethal, they'd score 20 between them between now and the end of the season Add Ethan Moore to the mix and SGC may just cream himself.
  19. One that tells us a lot about Houlliers priorities this season! It's great to blood some of the youngsters and give some players a rest before the Man Utd game, but only if we get a win with what we have!
  20. Yep, apparently he's asked Liverpool to listen to the Chelsea offer. Liverpool are right up shit creek, saying that, Suarez isnt a bad replacement is he? If he settles? Who know's, he could be brilliant or he could be another Alfonso Alves. The Dtuch league and a World Cup aren't enough to judge him on.
  21. Surely the whole of the above map should be Manchester Utd red?
  22. I got persuaded to sign up for the Bath Half Marathon back in September (race is in March). I hadn't run or done any exercise in months (if not years) before that. I started training straight away, very gently, and honestly couldn't manage a slow run for 5 minutes. I'm now doing 10 mile runs and getting better all the time. So, if you stick to a plan and keep going then yes, you probably can do it. Although, you might want to start with something a bit less ambitious like me and go for a half marathon. If you do go for it I found "couch to 5k" and the running coach on the lucozade website useful.
  23. Why would we be bitter? Since Bent left we've finished 4th and are now going well in the Champion's League - so it's not as if we've especially missed him. Besides, we received 16.5m for selling him. And now we'll get - due to a sell-on clause in his sale contract - 10% of the 7.5m profit made by Sunderland on his 24m price tag to Villa. I think you've overpaid for him, but he's no doubt a good striker and will certainly help a lot in your battle against relegation. However, it looks like Villa will be heading for another massive loss in your next set of accounts because your wage bill continues to be huge and your spending spree of recent years continues. So either Lerner will continue to subsidise you or else the sale of Young is around the corner. I'd guess the latter. Young may well be sold, but it won't be to balance the books, it'll be because he wants to go and won't sign a new contract. Not that that'll be much consolation, but still, you're wrong.
  24. I did it in a van a few years ago. Because we were driving we kept it all in a fairly circular route without any really far flung destinations. It was something like: Paris Bordeaux Pamplona (Bull run) Zaragoza Barcelona Avignon Nice Monaco Genova La Spezia Pisa Milan Verona Innsbruck Munich Music festival in CZ Rep Prague Lepzig Dresden Berlin Hamburg, via some lakes Grongien Amsterdam Antwerp Brussells Brugge Some of those places we spent a few days in, some a few hours. And lots of interesting little towns and villages on the way as well.
