  1. GK: Friedel LB: L Young RB: Walker CB: Clark CB: Collins LM: Downing RM: Albrighton CM: Reo Coker CM: Delph ACM: A Young ST: Bent Subs: Marshall (or Guzan, is he back from Hull?); Beye (not much choice left really, we're paying him so use him); Bannan, Petrov, Pires; Agbonlahor, Heskey. If Collins isn't fit, have to play Beye at CB. Wouldn't be to happy about it but don't think there are to many options, I don't like midfielders at full back.
  2. Knocks of school early, whips round to the lovers and then works in front of me all evening asking for tea and sympathy.... could be on to something ....
  3. The holiday part doesn't annoy me. What does annoy me is when they claim their holidays are "taken up with marking and planning". Surely marking the coursework of a few kids/teenagers doesn't take long and surely the planning can be recycled year after year (with a few tweaks to reflect the requirements of the curriculum). Anyway, even if it is time consuming - tough. It's your job; it's what you're paid to do, so get on with it. Nobody gets six weeks holiday in the summer, four over easter, two weeks for Xmas, etc etc. My girlfriend is training to be a teacher at the moment. She works at home until at least 10.30pm every night doing lesson planning, after a full day at school. She hasn't even started marking work yet and I don't know how that's going to fit in as well.
  4. The manager got it wrong today. It's not a mistake the is peculier to GED, MON did the same repeatedly (Moscow) and we see plenty of managers rotating for cup games, against weak and strong oposition. But with such a kind and uncongested fixture list ahead of us, I really just can't get my head around why he did that today. Also, after resting Downing and Young, why bring them on with 20 minutes left at 3-0 down. This should have been done at HT, 60 mins at the latest. If resting them is so important, then why play them when there is no time to make an impact. On the bright side, Bannan looked good. Gabby not as poor as people are making out. Clark was decent for the most part and Delph looks like he could probably play a bit in midfield. Was a bit concerned by Herd, thought he could easily have picked up a couple of bookings on a different night.
  5. Isn't it the PL and not the FA who have dished out fines for this in the past? I'd be extremely aggrieved if Villa were to be penalised for fielding a weakened side when many teams have put out far weaker ones in cups.
  6. And now we make changes; far too little far too late. I've been, and still am, a Houllier supporter but tonight he's get it so wrong it's unreal.
  7. Not impressed with this, can't understand why we went so weak.
  8. Please, no Reo Coker at RB. He is awful there, I'd rather put Bent there.
  9. You do know Gardner is in the squad right? There is no way that can possibly happen now :winkold:
  10. You could try "Couch Surfing". Not so much people to go travelling with as people to meet and stay with along the way. But you'll normally find they take you around and show you the sights where ever they are, and it's free accommodation so pretty good deal! I know a couple of people who used to host people from the site and everyone seemed to win and have a good time. However, unless you're actually a big titted blonde you might not find that many willing hosts.
  11. We have 2 weeks off after the Bolton game as well, so would be crazy to rest players for this IMO. Full strength. Depends if we beat City, if we do we'll have a fixture against Everton on the 12/03. The break will be on the weekend of 26th/27th. Didn't know that  Still, it's hardly a congested fixture list and there is a break coming. If we rest players we'll most likely be having the break sooner than we want and it'll seem crazy to have rested them, so still a full strength side for me.

  13. Could be a problem with that...
  14. Good luck! When you are in the pub and others go outside to smoke, try to concentrate on how good it is to be able to stay in the warm and dry!
  15. Aren't real ones about €100+ per 10g or something stupid? On that basis, I'm not that keen to try!
  16. Surely Punch and Judy are traditionally glove puppets? (or is that the point I'm missing entirely?)
  17. The weather can be a bit shit though, can't it? Tell me about it, I sick of waiting for my lawn to start growing so I can test out my new petrol mower! Rob needs a haircut....
  18. That was just horrid to hear on the news that foriegn mercenaries were being brought in kill protestors in Libya. Paid to slaughter, just to keep the powerful and corrupt in situ and the enraged masses at bay. "Man's inhumanity to Man"... shameful. I'll be surprised if Nigeria doesn't explode sometime soon. It's an absolute powder cake over there as well. It's the same in Bahrain, mostly foreigners in the police / army. I think a large part of those forces are normally made up of foreigners, but they are deployed against protesters as they are less likely to switch sides.
  19. Thanks for that Well done, thats some serious running. Hey, if I can run 14 miles anyone can! When I started training in Sept last year it was the first exercise I'd done in years, and I couldn't run even half a mile then! And it's not an exaggeration, I really didn't have the fitness to do that!! How far would you normally run? I'm gonna keep on my 4.6k Route for about a month and then move up to a 10.3k. This is easily the best site for mapping. I Could have just doubled the first route but I'd much rather a circuit than laps. I normally do 4 or 5 miles two evenings a week, and a longer run (8-12 miles) at the weekend, although once I've done my half I'll start cutting back a little bit because the girlfriend gets annoyed with me spending so much time out. I wouldn't try to increase in that big of a jump! I normally only went up in increments of about a mile and I think that works better.

  21. 14 miles this morning, my longest ever run. Took me 2h8m and my legs are a little stiff but feeling ok and confident about my first half marathon in 2 weeks!
  22. Yes, try this Couch to 5k worked brilliantly for me, I'd recommend it to anyone starting out. Edit: this podcast was good for me
  23. QE II Vs some bird who gets her tits out? Not the greatest analogy imo. Yes, Katie Price got to where she is today without being born into that privilaged position. To compare her to someone who got where they are simply by being born is an insult to Katie Price.
