  1. This was the first game I ever went to, I remember it so well, starting to wonder if Klinsmann was dead...
  2. Good to see Dunne looking in a confident mood, I hope we don't give to much respect. Here
  3. I'd be tempted to go 442 with Carew. With the Utd defence being pasted together from midfielders, if he can have a good game (and it's Man Utd, so he should be up for it) then he could really tear them apart like no one else in our team can. It's a gamble, but I think it could be one worth taking. Agree that the mentality for the game has to be right and MON will have to get some belief into the players.
  4. Asking Dowing to play again on Saturday might be a bit much, given he still isn't fully fit according to MON.
  5. Yeap, one of the all time classics. I thought vol. 1 was far superior.
  6. James Milner is a part time linesman and if he was refereeing last night he would have spotted Henry's handball
  7. I'd watch the players in training all week before deciding.
  8. Uh, yes, but they did. I don't know what you're getting at. :| I think the point is that reactions are purely down to the result, nothing to to with how we played, how unlucky we may have been conceed a late winner. If we had of grabbed a slice of luck in the last minute and scored a winner, how many people would be making the same complaints about tactics or certain players etc? Ok, I know we didn't but I can see the point, many posts are more kneejerk reaction than anything, as is always the case on here, win or lose. I recall standing there watching in the 92nd minute thinking this is a shit point and crap performance. I think we were worthy of a draw and my complaints would have been the same but we lost the game not down to our players but due to the refs decisions. Fair enough, I've no doubt some people would be reacting the same. But there are also many that wouldn't.

  10. When they did the free travel for the Chelsea game a couple of years back they had free parking at the leisure centre.
  11. I'm an expert when it comes to soups so hopefully you'll enjoy this recipe. Finely chop one onion and do the same with 1 clove of garlic, fry off the garlic and onion in a large cooking pot for 4-5 minutes, then chop the squash into small chunks, add the chunks to the garlic and onion and fry off for another 5 minutes. Boil some water, put a vegetable or chicken stock (chicken stock works better and will give more flavour) in a measuring jug, once the water has boiled fill the measuring jug up to 250ml, stir until stock has disolved. Once stock has disolved, add that to the squash, onion and garlic, pour a cup of water in too and 40ml of cream. Bring to the boil and simmer for 30 minutes. Season generously with salt and pepper, very finely chop up (just less than a handfull) of corriander add that to the soup and stir then let the soup to cool for 5-10 minutes. Last step, blend the soup with a handheld blender (push the blender into the pot all the way down so it doesn't splash everywhere!) or alternitively, transfer the soup into a electric blender and blend it for around 20 seconds. Re-heat and then serve. Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately I don't have a blender
  12. Any suggestions on what to do with a buttnut squash? Preferably something low fat?
  13. Does such an idea exist? With an economy controlled to that extent I'd say yes, it's called Communism. That would be a very worrying development in my opinion. Would say you can reach this far and no further and ambition would be severely limited, progress would stop and the whole nations economy would fall quickly behind others that weren't restricted in this way. Yeah i know Communism. But no, ambition wont be severly limited IMO. Then again, i'm not motivated by money and have no interest in the stuff. Besides, if a whole country has this system, then there would be shared ambition in other areas surely? For example, a Doctor earning the hypothetical top wage, can focus on the treatment of his patients rather than the money he is earning. A buisnessman can focus on the quality of his service rather than the bonus at the end of the year. A politician, can actualy be a public servant rather than a corrupt liar claiming stupid expenses? Surely then ambitions would be focused away from earning the mega $$$, and instead it would go towards creating a better, fairer society? I know, alot of people Are motivated by money, as money brings power and power is an attractive thing. But i digress, this IMO would be a perfect society, but even at my young age i know humans are far from perfect. I know that greed will eventually corrupt such a system. But what reason does the doctor have to focus on treatment? He's not going to get any extra reward for his extra efforts. If he feels he works hard enough then there is not gain for him in working harder. In fact, as his wages have been slashed already, he's probably not feeling like working very hard at all. At the end of the day, if people don't feel they can be fairly rewarded for working harder, they won't do it. Doctor A will look at Doctor B, both earning the maximum £45k or whatever and say, "He only does x amount of work for his £45k, so that's what I'm going to do." Reducing inequality is a nice ideal, but this isn't the way to do it.

  15. Economic Left/Right: -0.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.38 Although as has been mentioned, there are a lot of loaded questions and I didn't feel comfortable with any of the answers to many of them.
  16. General I'm sorry you have to come on here and read so many complaints. Rest assured there are still many fans, perhaps the silent majority, who realise the club has taken great strides forward over the last few years, who realise success can't come instantly or just by throwing money at players and who are not panicing after 2 games. I hope Randy, MON and yourself will be at the club for many years to keep up the good work and steady progress we are undoubtably making.
  17. No! If they don't like your stubble f*ck 'em! In fact, forget stubble, grow a man's beard!
  18. I've gone for Bristol City because I want it to be, but fully expect the form side to make it which is most definitely Palace.
  19. General, I'm pleased to see that the club have kept their word regarding ticket prices. You always told us they would be well priced, as they are for the Browns and the new prices announced show that they are just that. It's great to see once again that what comes out of the club isn't just marketing spiel, it's the truth and words are kept. Thanks! See you at VP next season!
  20. After the way SHA played at our place I think they will go, there isn't enough spirit there for them to react in the right way and a bad defeat against Liverploop will have them really low going into the Fulham game. I think Wigan could also end up closer than expected, because as well as us they have to play one of the big four (I hate that expression) IIIRC although I can't remember who, which are two very tough games for them.
  21. This almost brings a tear to the eye General! We are truly blessed to have you and Randy at our club and I wouldn't swap you for any other owner in the world, including the likes of Abramovic! It has been a great 2 years to reflect, and with you and Randy at the helm we can all feel confident that in 2 years time we will have a great deal more happy memories to reflect on! Thanks for everything you and Randy have done, I've never felt so good as a Villa fan as I do right now.
  22. Surely Villa's total should be 48, not 40? :winkold: Nice piece though.
  23. Spot on, I'm far more anxious about this game as it may well define our season. That said, if we drop points against SHA it may not really matter, but the point is that it is the points that are most important, not bragging rights or rivalry.
