  1. They don't seem to lack a good scout as far as strikers go to be fair to them.
  2. I agree on the 10-15 game marker. That takes us to the end of October.
  3. so over-reaction of the week goes to me then. All good. I was tired. The moral of my story is a variation on the don't drink and text rule I suppose, don't drive a band on a 300 mile round trip to portmeirion over the Welsh mountains to play a festival and text. Support who you want, it's a free country, ish. Weirdo
  4. Im delighted to be surfing the wave of optimism like all of us. Long may it continue! I agree we've been unlucky so far and been quite dominant in matches without that bit of luck. If you look at the Championship tables over the last decade If your loss column is in single figures come the end of the season you're unlucky not to get in the top 2 (especially Brighton last year) but pretty much guaranteed a play off place. I totally agree when they click we'll be going on a nice unbeaten run for change.
  5. I particularly used to hate corners for this reason as a kid. Never saw a damn thing! I couldn't even remember the scorers in my first game lol but when I was trying to take in the sheer size of everything around me, the crowds, the stadium, the pitch I remember the players being so small and far away (if I know VT, cue Father Ted right?). I wonder if the non-standing thing made it better for the kids in this respect?
  6. I'm totally in the top 10 camp atm. I think it's more a case of us hedging our bets a little. This newly formed squad on paper could win this league. I don't think any of us seriously think we're in danger of relegation anymore. But as @omariqy said going from 17 points 3 wins 8 draws and 27 losses to promotion form is a huge, huge ask. Pointing to the new personnel and characters in the dressing room is hugely relevant, but then so is the fact that it's basically a whole new first 11 learning to gel. It may take a while. I think RDM's minimum requirement is to make the play-offs. If he doesn't he'll surely go.
  7. I remember when he burst on the scene and then the Arsenal interest and I clearly remember sitting in the pub with my mates and saying to them I know he aint the best but he's one of ours and in this time of 'mercenaries' how much I wished he would be our Steve Bull, our LeTissier. The moral of this tale being be careful what you wish for. It's a shame its gone bad but it's gone very very bad.
  8. Not picking on you NIVillan but this winds me up. He looked a handful in a televised game. He battered no-one. The game finished 0-0 ffs.
  9. I know i've said it before but I feel sorry for the young 'uns if this is their 'legend'.
  10. Also not unheard of to be able to deliver that information without the nonsensical guesswork at the start though is it really? Jump to random conclusions much? Anyway welcome to VT and thanks for introducing yourself in such a friendly way. Anyway while we're on the topic of people who have 2 teams in the Kodjia thread, @JamesBCFC Where does the "Jimmy" thing come from?
  11. US Open has been fun so far, all these Brits doing well. And it keeps on coming, Dan Evans is giving Wawrinka a good run for his money atm.
  12. If Kodjia is more Man than Donkey he'll get the nod
  13. It was 29th March 1986 apparently Hodge and Stainrod were the scorers. I was in the City end as my Auntie gave up her ST for my Uncle to take me. Billy McNeil was their manager. Turner was still here. McNab and Wilson equalised at the end for them. Just I'm sure they had 2 goals disallowed. seems pre premier league stats are a bit hard to come by in a simple internet search. Anyone else in the 20,000 odd that day remember? EDIT: some stats place 3 goals in the 90th minute! Bet 9 year old me thought it was always like that lol. Also, now I've sat and thought about it I have quite vivid memories of the supporters bar at Maine Road where my aunt and uncle met up at full time. I remember how they all said they liked the Villa, and Forest, mainly coz we'd won the European cup and weren't Utd or Liverpool Also there was genuine sympathy towards Gary Shaw being robbed of a great career.
  14. You have me all kinds of confused to be fair. When did Everton buy Kodjia?
  15. So if there's one already merge it mods but I couldn't find one Mine was sometime in the 80's away at Maine Road. Villa won 2-2 Can't remember much else to be fair, not even the scorers now lol. I'm going to search the internet for answers!! I do remember being in awe at the sheer awesomeness of it all. EDIT: I'm sure City had 2 goals disallowed that day aswell.
  16. Today I have mostly been arranging lists into patterns! Mind you, you never see me n Black in the same room
  17. Guzan Crespo - Okore - Lescott - Bennett Gana - Clark - Richardson Adama Nzogbia Sinclair
  18. Well we've been here before and recently too with Nzogbia and Ireland. We should therefore be prepared for how it plays out. If he really is done here then he sits out his contract. Very few people would give up millions of pounds in unearned income. Hopefully RDM wins a few matches between now and January and proves to us the fans and Gabby that we just don't need him any more. I fear Gabby and his agent are waiting to see how it pans out. Will RDM be here next summer? From what Ive seen of Xia so far I can't see him backing down in public and I truly think the club have handled it quite well. I was shocked to hear we were wanting to send him out on loan!! Plenty of us wanted him shipped out. By drawing a line under what had gone before and offering him very publicly a road to go down towards redemption actually showed him a lot of respect. But it also put the ball firmly in Gabby's court. Your move. By making the public aware there was an opportunity to take up the challenge put before him, all the blame and all the negativity rests solely at Gabby's feet.
  19. Deadline day signing on page 2 already? lol, nothing to whinge about yet obviously @Farlz just pointed out in the Kodjia thread that the kit builder on the OS has him down as No 37. I checked it out and found Albert Adoman 37 so hold off on ordering just yet eh?
  20. Lol, 37 is actually Albert Adoman at the moment
  21. He was already here Dunno who Will is though....
