  1. I think it is limited how much we spend in January, but I hope for a good player, and maybe two if we are hopefully in for a place in the CL. The position where we are missing, cover now is goalkeeper and right-back. Here I think we have to cross our fingers and pray that Martines stays injury-free, and spend the money elsewhere. Molina in at right back would have been fantastic, the same with a player who could have covered the positions of both Luiz and Kamara. In midfield it is easy to benefit from a new player, as there is more rotation there than elsewhere on the pitch. But an injury to Cash would weakened our team very much. As I cannot make up my mind, I am therefore asking for two new ones in January, as well as a new forward this summer, to strengthen the squad in the CL.
  2. Luton don't often lose by more than one goal
  3. There are a few things that could have been done with The Holte End to make it even better than it is today. First to build out the corner towards Trinity. There is enormous potential for more spectators, as well as making the stadium better. Have to do something about the roof at Holte End, as well as demolish the restaurant at the end of Trinity. The other thing to improve at Holte End is the roof, it shouldn't slope down towards the pitch so much, dampens the sound level and makes the stand less impressive. This is also solved by building out the corner. My guess this is how we add the extra 2-3000 seats after the new Nort Stand.
  4. https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2023/october/20/Nicolo-zaniolo-update/ Aston Villa can confirm Nicolò Zaniolo is assisting the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and the relevant authorities’ investigation into alleged illegal betting activity. The player has also met with senior officials at the club. Zaniolo is training as normal with the first-team squad and available for selection ahead of this weekend’s match with West Ham United. No further comment will be made by the Club during this ongoing process.
  5. As the majority want a star on the badge this is one of the best attempts I have seen. Maybe cut out 82 on the star
  6. The problem with the questions is that I like both a round badge like today, but also the gaslamp version that is made here, not the one the club presented last year. But my answers fail to cover both versions, and if I vote round then, I rule out gaslamp or a lone lion. Much better to have many proposals presented, and come up with views on them.
  7. Hope not «Liverpool are at a crossroads in their search for a replacement for star midfielder Fabinho, and attention now turns to a name who could play a pivotal role in the Reds' midfield: Aston Villa's Boubacar Kamara. .» https://www-fichajes-net.translate.goog/noticias/liverpool-fija-boubacar-kamara-mediocampo-20230824.html?_x_tr_sl=es&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=no&_x_tr_pto=wapp
  8. He has already played in Europe this season, qualifier for Gala, can he also play for us against Hibs.? Gala is playing another game at home tonight, is he there saying goodbye to the fans perhaps.
  9. Sees he played the first CL qualifier for Galatasaray, but not in the squad for the last two games. Is he currently injured? important games for Galatasaray, so no reason not to use him.
  10. Full article.ExclusiveBy Alan NixonBurnley and Aston Villa are close to a £12 million deal for Aaron Ramsey - with a buy back clause agreed. The shock swoop by Vincent Kompany should go ahead as the bulk of the transfer is now in place, including the young Villa midfielder’s terms.Burnley are happy to pay the fee to land a player they want in a tricky transfer market where they have suffered so many delays and frustrations. The only hurdle is Ramsey agreeing terms with Villa if he returns to them in the ‘buy back’ scenario. The complex move is the brainchild of new Villa transfer guru Monchi who is getting money in for the club but with a guarantee they can bring back the home grown player.
  11. Martinez cash, konsa, mings, pau Mcginn, tielemans, Luiz, baily diaby Watkins ???

    Peak Villa?

I remember 1981-82. Also remember some good years with big fat Ron. Great football.

  14. Not bad. I still prefer the new badge though.
  15. I don't understand that we will be able to reach a capacity of 60,000. On average, we must then have 15,000 in each stand. Holte End takes 13,500. Could perhaps be expanded to 15,000 by building out the corner towards TR. Trinity has probably reached max level with almost 14,000 after the redevelopment. The new North Stand will have 13,500. The new end stand at Liverpool will hold 15,800. We should do the same, our pitch is even bigger than Anfield. A possible new Witton Lane stand must then take at least 17,500 for us to reach 60,000, and that is the side we have the least space to build on. Nor do I want a grandstand that is much larger than the other three.
  16. The work will start after the 27th of june then, 6 weeks after our last home game. Is A concert worth it?
  17. If we are going to build a completely new stadium, then we should build a completely different place. Aston is not a place to be except to watch a game. I prefer to stay, but at the very least we should make sure we can develop DE stand. Hard to see how, as long as the road is going to be there. Some rows of houses have to go. The stand today has too little capacity, too cramped inside and it is not possible to do much with it. Building a brand new stadium near/closer to the city center will cost a lot, and not be sustainable for the club. Can only be done if the owners will sacrifice a large amount of money to help the club increase their income somewhat. But they said when they took over the club that they were in love with Villa Park.
  18. Love the new badge. Nice shorts.
  19. Liverpool have asked to play the first games away from home, which can explain why they and Everton both open away. Maybe Everton play at home in round 2, while Liverpool still play away.
  20. I hope we start next season with a home game, and end with an away game. It gives us the opportunity to start tearing down the stands earlier, and perhaps some available seats for the start of next season in the new stand.
  21. https://www-marca-com.translate.goog/futbol/athletic/2023/06/14/648865a046163fb3bd8b463d.html «The Aston Villa coach has as a priority the signing of the Athletic winger, who would charge more than double what they offer him in Bilbao» Emery, determined to sign Nico Williams: 50 million costs his clause The Aston Villa coach has as a priority the signing of the Athletic winger, who would charge more than double what they offer him in Bilbao Nico Williams, during a match with Athletic this season RICARDO LARREINA Nico Williams is the number 1 target for Unai Emery's Aston Villa. The Athletic winger, whose contract ends in 2024, has a release clause of 50 million euros and the English club is willing to spend the rest to sign Nico this summer. Emery already wanted to take Nico Williams with him in the winter market, but the Spanish international preferred to wait until the end of the season to make a decision about his future. The youngest of the Williams has a renewal offer from Athletic on the table, but he seems closer to packing his bags for the Premier and leaving for Aston Villa than renewing with his team of a lifetime. And it is that the offer to the footballer by Aston Villa is around 7 million euros per year, a figure well above what an Athletic can offer him that has not renewed Íñigo Martínez but did do so with Oihan Sancet, another of the key footballers for the Bilbao entity and whose contract extension became official after the match in San Mamés against Getafe.
  22. hehe, no, tonight I'm hoping for the boy's team. A nice change to support a team that plays at the very highest level. He has had a couple of disappointing results against Chelsea and Real Madrid in recent years, and is wishing for the same experience I had one spring evening 41 years ago.
