I would say Southampton are still most definitely in the mix . Definitely. Maybe even Sunderland as well, but to a much lesser extent.
  2. Wasn't sure of him at first. My word, he's proved us all wrong!

    27 points feels good.

Looking at fixtures, I do see a good number of winnable games- obviously Reading and QPR, as well as Stoke, Fulham, Sunderland, and Norwich. Wigan last day of the season I'd rather not think about. Then we have Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool, and I could see us getting at least a point from those. So as long as we don't lose either of the next two, we still have a chance.

    Premier league history, maybe.

I don't know whether the QPR result is good- we can catch Southampton more easily, but I'd rather only have two relegation spots to worry about.

Help send Lambert down? He brought some of the players up two leagues, I dunno if they'll be that against him.
  8. Looking at the table, I fear for us. Looking at performances just lately, you'd have thought we'd be ok- if this was the start of the season, I'd be relatively sure of staying up.

Really disappointed Norwich and Fulham won, I'd have hoped at least one of those would get sucked into the scrap

We play Norwich for our 3rd last game, that could prove important.

    Brad Guzan

Been one of our few consistent players this season. His celebrations after we scored yesterday just showed how much this means to him. Getting him back here last summer was a masterstroke.

Man City game can't possibly stay like this...

Norwich were the only team to be in worse form than Villa at the end of Jan. They'll certainly be looking over their shoulders.

March is so important with QPR and Reading back to back. That could almost decide it.

    Stan Petrov

That would be amazing. Sorry if this is common knowledge, but is there any chance of him returning to play for Villa in the future?

Still think we can stay up, but it's gonna be very hard. Although after the season we've had, we're certainly owed some luck...
  17. Yeah, if you ignored our position in the league and other teams' results then it wasn't a bad result at all.
  18. Actually more optimistic after yesterday. Yes we couldn't hang on to win it, but Eerton are tough opposition. Still gutted though. I think a lot hinges on West Ham next week.
  19. If we play anything like we did in the second half on Tuesday, this could be a good match.
  20. To be honest I'm surprised we're still able to speculate with less than 3 hours to go, I expected Cylla to be it for us. Even if they are loan deals, I think they'll have an impact on the club.
  21. Very funny guys, can we go back to whinging at Lerner and Lambert now?
  22. One would hope that we've left all our business so late because we're waiting to shift Hutton and Warnock, and the transfers will now come flooding in. In all seriousness, I think we still could sign a player (Or even two), but it's unlikely.
  23. Yeah, I don't see what's wrong with this at all. I'd like to see someone come up with a statement that they'd be pleased with, and he could realistically release, because I think people are just looking for any excuse to criticise Lerner.
