  2. Wonder if there's any chance of fifth getting CL again next season.
  3. It's terribly exciting to think how well we could do next season if we manage to avoid any more season-long injuries to key players, or indeed any lengthy absences at all really. How does it look for that fifth CL spot next season too? It's going to be a competitive league, if we're able to progress far in a cup and even get into the knockout rounds of the CL, it would be nice to have slightly less pressure in the league.
  4. No, Spurs are on 63 points, we are on 68, they go above us with two wins
  5. Hopefully City come out another gear higher in the second half and Spurs are tired.
  6. Draw tonight would be fantastic but I don't think I could cope with the stress that would put me through. Given that it's not actually Villa playing, I'm tempted to do something else for two hours and just check the score at the end.
  7. I would sell him purely so I never have to be reminded of that miss again
  8. Looked class in the first half today. (couldn't focus on the second half so no comment.) Heard him saying Jhon can be a nightmare to have on your team in the post match interview, wonder if that was slightly too honest of him?
  9. If we draw at Palace, Spurs need to beat City and Sheffield by 8 goals, combined. (I assume it goes to goals scored when GD is tied)
  10. Agonisingly close to sealing it in the best way possible, but that point could come in handy. Feel much more confident going into that Palace game too, though it's going to be really tough.
  11. A win under the lights would be a picture perfect ending for our season, wouldn’t it? The climax is feeling slightly dampened by how shattered both the players and the fans are. I’d love a win to let everyone finish on a real high. Liverpool will be solid but wasteful. Let’s go 1-0 (Watkins 79’)
  12. So a point tomorrow means that a point at Palace secures top four, unless Spurs overturn a GD of 8 against City and Sheffield. And now I’m convincing myself that Spurs could smash and grab a 2-0 against City and then streamroller Sheffield United 6-0….
  13. GD really isn't out of the question, it's a swing of 8 across three fixtures. If they go and thump Sheffield 4-0 on the final day, we can't lose by more than four across our games against Liverpool and Palace, who both have some scary attacking threats.
  14. They've huffed and puffed to get a win against Burnley. Let's see them get anything from Man City.
  15. In the scenario where Spurs beat City and Sheffield and we lose to Liverpool and Palace, though, a goal difference swing of 9 is not that unlikely. The GD would be within 5 if they were all just 1 goal margin results. The key thing, though, is that Spurs need to beat City in this scenario.
  16. If Spurs just win this 2-1, and manage a draw at City, they need a GD swing of 8 across three fixtures (them v. SHU, us v. Liverpool and Palace) which is obviously possible but a bit more unlikely. If they'd battered them 4-0 today it would be a swing of just 5 which, across three results, really isn't that much. Of course the simplest thing to do is to beat Liverpool.
  17. Our squad last night was absolute threadbare. Who could realistically be in contention for the Palace game? Tielemans, Zaniolo, maybe Moreno? Any chance of Rogers? If we need to get something from that match having players back is crucial IMO.

    Unai Emery

If Unai can rouse our current tired, depleted, shattered squad to get a win from either of the next two matches, he'll more than deserve manager of the season.
  19. Yeah, if Arsenal don't beat United I'll feel very nervous all of a sudden. Hopefully though with all of United's injuries Arsenal will make light work of that fixture.
