No point getting rid of Lambert now. It would make no signings this month a certainty, and just add to the chaos at Villa Park. Last night was a terrible, terrible result but it doesn't reflect the whole season. We have actually played some very nice football under Lambert at times. To be honest I'd probably stick with him if we went down, unless there was another manager available who would definitely be better.

There's no way of telling. On the one hand, if we can keep some of our more talented players the Championship might be the ideal place for them to grow and gain confidence. The squad could develop and get some more organisation, and Lambert could bring in more youth without having to push them out into the unfriendly world of the premiership. On the other hand, the club might implode, with our talented players either jumping ship or being sold, Lambert would resign and we'd begin to crumble financially. We'd end up struggling to get anywhere near the play offs and becoming just another Championship side with no hope and no Bright Future.

If we continue to play like we did mostly yesterday, we'll be fine. We have enough quality to stay up. Of course, I make it sound easy, and it most definitely won't be. But the potential is there.

Newcastle is a really big game, a win there would be massive. Of course that goes for every game now really, but this one especially. Feels good to be back out of the relegation zone again, with the teams below us level on games played. For now, at least.

Must have been something major going on behind the scenes, because if this is a reaction to recent results it's a ridiculous one. Southampton were looking the most likely to stay up from the six relegation candidates.

If we get a point at West Brom on Saturday that would definitely be a positive. However a win against Newcastle would be absolutely massive, to beat a relegation rival could do wonders for us and give us good platform to go into February from.
