  1. We've been told that it will be announced tonight, with tickets on sale on Wed (a month before the games). Bit of patience maybe?
  2. He's already made 3 starts and 1 sub appearence...
  3. 4-3-3 second half surely? Steer Hutton-Herd-Baker-Richardson Westwood-Gardner-El Ahmadi N'Zogbia-Bent-Weimann
  4. http://www.villatalk.com/index.php/topic/11419-24-hours-in-luxembourg/ Short answer: it's expensive and dull.
  5. what the owner is ot in the takeover thread - lol have googled cant find anything that legally restricts randy's travel movements - not that I would expect to find details of his divorce settlement on line - as we know he is a very private man. pretty sure if Randy wanted to attend half a dozen home games a season - there is no law restricting him....where there is will there is a way It's entirely possible that, in light of his divorce, his family commitments became a lot more important to him. Certainly, his personal circumstances changed considerably following the first four years of his period in charge. Whatever we as fans think, family > business. Have a couple of links from a cursory google... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2080499/What-wrong-Villa-How-Randy-Lerners-dream-turning-nightmare.html http://www.clevescene.com/cleveland/the-custodian/Content?oid=2805785
  6. Google it. Terms of gaining custody. Anyway this is OT. Back to the takeover.
  7. Disagree - Lerner doesn't seem to be a vain individual whatsoever (evidenced by the fact that he doesn't like the limelight at all) and I think he bought the club because he was genuinely interested in it at the time. But going from genuine interest to not showing up to watch a match in person for months on end suggest that maybe the thing WAS a vanity pursuit. Once things got tough, he couldn't be bothered. I assumed that people knew that the reason he wasn't attending games was due to his divorce settlement and the requirement to spend more time in the US with his kids? Nobody seems to ever mention it when they accuse him of staying away from games because he's lost interest. what requirement is that then ? granted it might make him a less frequent visitor - but zero attendances in 18 months...come on Maybe it's zero attendances, maybe it's not - there have been suggestions that he's been here 'undercover'. Anyway, he has to spend at least 6 months every year in Ohio due to the terms of his divorce settlement. 3 of his 4 kids are living with his ex-wife in NYC while he has custody of the fourth. He spends most of the week in Cleveland with the fourth kid, and then goes to NYC to see his other kids at the weekend. Google it, it was mentioned in a few places in the media about 18 months ago.

  9. It's not great. I've been twice, spent about 3 days there in total. It's very expensive. Don't get a taxi from the airport, whatever you do, I managed to spend 30 euros on a ten minute journey. There isn't a great deal to do - half a day is plenty of time. Grund (old town) is quite pretty. Casemates Bock (a network of underground fortifications) is interesting to wander around. The National Museum of Art and History (http://www.mnha.public.lu/) is mildly diverting for a short while. Generally speaking it's a low key kinda place. I had a huge meal of mussels at a restaurant on the south side of Place d'Armes, but I can't remember the name. And I'm out.
  10. ...and Siegrist to Burton Albion.
  11. Chelsea into the semi-finals of the Europa League. Good news for us. Will be hoping they beat City this Sunday. Would love us to be the middle game in a 6 day FA Cup Final > Villa > Europa League final run. Reserve team ahoy.
  12. Chelsea's remaining fixtures: Thurs 11/4 Europa League 1/4 final v Rubin Kazan (3-1 up from first leg) Sun 14/4 Fa Cup semi-final v Man City Wed 17/4 League v Fulham Sun 21/4 League v Liverpool Thurs 25/4 Europa League potential semi-final 1st leg Sat 27/4 (or Sun 28/4 depending on Europa League commitments) League v Swansea Thurs 2/5 Europa League potential semi-final 2nd leg Sun 5/5 League v Man Utd Sat 11/5 League v Aston Villa (or FA Cup final) Thurs 15/5 Europa League potential final Sun 19/5 League v Everton So if they reach the FA Cup final AND the Europa League final, our game will have to be moved to either Wed 8th May or to a date between the two finals (either Mon 13th May or Tues 14th May). I'm not sure of the logistics of moving the game to an earlier date (would only be able to give the police 6 days notice if they win the Europa semi), so it could still be another Monday night fixture
  13. A question. Looking to upgrade my camera. Currently have this. A friend is selling his for £400, but has offered it to me for £375. It's this one. He paid around £850 for it about 3-4 years ago. He has taken good care of it and it's in excellent condition. Just after some second opinions - I'm pretty tempted to take it off his hands. It's at the absolute upper end of what I can afford but I think it'll be worth it. Thoughts?

    Milan

Agree with drat. Spent a day there on holiday, won't go back. Did the Duomo and the Last Supper and that was it. Not worth a whole weekend imo, plenty of nicer places in Italy to visit.
  15. Frank Turner is playing at the opening ceremony. Amazing news!
  16. Not that I remember. I'll give them a call, thanks. The fact that it seemed to only be a problem when I left Oxford was bugging me, so this might be a good explanation. On a slightly unrelated note, my contract is up in July so I'm probably going to upgrade to the Xperia S for free (£36/month). Anybody got one yet, looks quite nice?
  17. In the mobile network settings (which is the only place that I can see roaming options), my settings are: Data enabled Data roaming: International roaming Network mode: GSM / WCDMA (preferred) Network operators: T-Mobile is selected and search mode is set to 'search automatically' Generally my phone seems to be connected to the T-Mobile network. Occasionally I notice that it's on Orange, but there doesn't seem to be any connection with this and my internet problems.
  18. I don't visit the tech section too often so apologies if this is the wrong place for this question... I've been having a few problems with internet access on my Xperia X10 (on T-mobile). I've tried googling but it's difficult to specify a search that will yield relevant results. Basically, sometimes I cannot access any websites for several days via 3G. I still have internet access because I can still use apps that need to go online, and I can still access my emails. Also, the 3G indicator is still there. But I can't load up any websites - the phone stalls and just loads up nothing. It happened when I left Oxford on Friday morning to go up to the Midlands, and only starting working again this afternoon (I got back to Oxford yesterday). The last time it happened was at Easter, also when I left Oxford to go to Gatwick to fly to Spain. I couldn't get internet access via 3G until I left the UK. (I should add that I can still access websites via wifi, but I very rarely have wifi access when I need it, so this isn't much use) I've tried downloading different browsers. I've cleared my cache, history etc. Turned the phone on and off several times. Taken the battery out. Everything else works perfectly. And eventually, after a couple of days, 3G access works perfectly again as well, without me changing any settings. But those few days when it refuses to do anything are so infuriating. Any ideas?
  19. Here we go then. If you're clutching at straws: Norwich and WBA have nothing to play for and our GD gives us an advantage over most of the teams below us. Plus I think Blackburn are down, so it's essentially 1 from 4. If you're realistic: we're doomed.
  20. Has he shaved his head? Photo 2 Tribute to Petrov I guess?
  21. Why? We play them on the 7th. The FA Cup semi-final is on the 14th.
  22. Can't decide if I'm worried or excited by that CM pairing... Gabby captain, nice.
  23. Why do you say that? Looks pretty accurate to me.
