  1. I just got in. Was 2000 or so in the queue. There were around 700 tickets in Area 543. View looks decent enough. 50 quid or so.
  2. If it stays 2-0 then Jedi will come on for in 10mins...
  3. If we get a third then Grealish / Lansbury need a run out.
  4. This is kind of crazy... but if it works...fair enough. Open the full tweet to read the Dr’s lecture notes...
  5. "Just one more thing Mr President...do you have someone who could buy West Ham, urgh, I mean Aston Villa" Picture courtesy of the Telegraph.
  6. You may be right about Bernstein and King. But I don't think we can be sure. I'd still be keen to hear their opinions.
  7. I'm remaining open minded for now and will wait and see how things pan out over the coming weeks. But, I'd certainly be really interested in hearing Bernstein or Lord King's thoughts on Dr. Tony.
  8. Indeed. I'm over the moon that the club has been sold and excited about what the next few weeks/months have in store. But, I'll just temper my enthusiasm a little until genuine progress speaks for itself.
  9. Not to dampen the mood... But I'm keen to learn more about Dr. Tony before I get too excited. That said... things couldn't get much worse.
  10. Happy with this if it comes off and think Tim' s played it well. Clark and Baker given new contracts and (Clark in particular) likely reassured they are the future and will have a chance to establish themselves in the long term. Lescott's been brought in to steady the ship and offer some much needed experience at the back - defending free kicks against Utd our lack of organisation was painfully apparant. Lescott is a fan and will be a positive influence. Just need a striker now...
  11. I'd be very pleased with signing Sanchez. If Keane could put an arm round his shoulder and offer a few tips, all the better. Get it done.
  12. You should finally be able to relax then.
  13. Reminds me of when MON signed Sutton, which proved a waste of time. Happy to give him the benefit of the doubt and not overly concerned given the need for short term cover. Still hoping (probably in vain) that we'll sign someone to give everyone a lift.
  14. Nice to see a lot of Spurs fans on their forums saying good luck to us and fair play. Shame the Spurs fans on here haven't done the same, although I guess it takes a particular type of fan to sign up to another team's forum and gloat before even completing a deal... As for being fickle - most of the ill feeling towards Benteke was based on the assumption he would leave after one season...now that he'll be here for two all is forgiven. I look forward to an Aston Villa player being top scorer at the World Cup next year and then I'll be happy for him to sign for a genuinely big club.
  15. I'm not posting the all-time Premier League table below to settle any arguments about whether I might be delusional for thinking that certain teams are not really that much bigger than us (if at all). Instead, I'm posting it in order to suggest that, if Benteke were to move, he'd probably want to go to one of London's big clubs - Chelsea or Arsenal - rather than a club that has never finished as high as Aston Villa in the Premier League and only enjoys a marginally higher average points per season than us. In fact, my money is on him going to a club that can afford him, like Arsenal - the club he supports. Pos. 16. I like to think a compromise is more likely in a year's time.
  17. Can't see the club giving it to anyone for at least a few years. No need for a public retirement though.
