  1. Course he won't. It wasn't in the press slamming a player was he, it was a jokey comment to his own fans in an informal setting
  2. £15m has been constantly mentioned. I'd imagine/hope they paid£4-5m for a loan fee
  3. Yeah you'd hope so, considering we were getting offered near £35m for him in January it'd be weird to push him out a few months later. You'd imagine there'd be more of a plan for him than that. Suppose we'll see when Nakamba is back whether Dougie gets played as an 8 or if he's benched behind Ramsey/McGinn
  4. Greenwoods career is over. Whilst 'smacking' women is abhorrent enough, he's a rapist. His career is being managed by nobody, he's suspended whilst the police investigation and court case are on going. He's done.
  5. Needs to spend some time getting to know Buendia and Coutinho then. As in them two we have two of the best passers of attacking No10s in the league. Certainly outside of the Top 6. Threading passes through to strikers making runs is literally their bread and butter. Maybe we need a slight tweak and maybe there is a style difference but between them two and Bailey we have signed players to feed him the ball or to pull players in with trickery to open up space for him. Hasn't worked so far for multiple reasons and it's not all on Ollie for sure. But considering he was at Brentford in the Championship 2 seasons ago, we've made huge signings to keep him happy and sign players that align to his strengths. Yes he lost Grealish (but they didn't have the best chemistry for the first part of last season and then Jack was injured for most of the second half) but had he joined any other lower-Prem team last season he'd have had nowhere near the investments around him to keep progressing. The Ings experiment aside. Maybe I'm wrong but I feel as though that's Purslows meddling and has set Ollie back years. Hopefully Gerrard can get it firing because he showed last year he can be a natural finisher and he can certainly progress further. His work rate etc. Last year was phenomenal and players like Firmino have shown that can work at much higher levels than we are at. There's no need to be thinking Ollie can't succeed here further up the league
  6. 58 mins in a 3-1 win over Germany. Didn't get a goal but we were 2-0 up when he went off. His replacement Tyrhys Dolan, got the 3rd. Kesler came on on 58 mins as Archer went off so didn't get any minutes together
  7. Good news for him, doubt he'll start considering how late it is he's joining up, but be good for him to be involved
  8. Get what you mean but the article calls this him becoming a full fledged first team player
  9. New contract till 2027 and a full fledged member of the first team squad. Good to see, hopefully he gets minutes now Also, We broke Don Lange. SMILE AGAIN
  10. Neville and Carragher we're on Sky a few months back saying they were often tasked by managers to tap players up whilst they were away. Neville joked about how Gerrard told him where to go when SAF tasked him with tapping Stevie G up, but that he wasn't quite the same when John Terry tried the same thing.. It pretty much confirmed many fans beliefs that the England camps get used for tapping up. The whole thing for Villa really kicked when in relatively quick succession we lost Barry, Milner, Young, Downing and a bit later on Delph and now Grealish. There will have been many reasons for why they each left but it fuelled the belief in parts of the fanbase. We all knew where we were headed as a club and that England wasn't really the reason but it became a bit of a spectre of incoming bad news.
  11. Great day for the Academy with England call ups, don't think I'm missing anybody but takes the total Academy call ups for all nations to: England U21's Jacob Ramsey England U20's Cameron Archer, Jaden Philogene-Bidace and Kaine Kesler Hayden England U19's Carney Chukweumeka, Tim Iroegbunam and Aaron Ramsey Scotland U19s Kerr Smith (announced a couple weeks ago)
  12. Must be doing something right, called up to England U19s
  13. Called up to the U19s along with Carney and AJ
  14. Called up to U19s along with Tim Iroegbunam and Aaron Ramsey
  15. Very deserved, should be pushing for a senior call up soon if he can keep developing as he had been the last 7 months
  16. Hadn't seen JPB made it too, 3 players who all really should be starting will be interesting to see. A RB, RW and a striker all working togetherness too would be great
  17. Oh well, he gets to start showing how him and Kesler can link up outside of U23s
  18. Booed themselves off at HT Booed us on after HT Lovely atmosphere for Marsch' first game
  19. The rules changed didn't they to ensure the game is stopped in emergencies like that. It helps the medical teams involved get better care to the person, a stand of thousands of people who may not quite realise that somebody is having a heart attack can mean things like gangways become obstructed, people get angry if they don't understand what's going on etc. Heaven forbid a goal goes in whilst somebody is getting urgent care and celebrations cause issues getting the person care. So because of the rule changes, we're more aware of it happening. As for team doctors getting involved, a couple things: there's more expectation that they get involved as 30-60k people are stopping their day, the one set of doctors you can actually see, it's comforting to see them do something. Cynically, maybe it's slightly performative - but I'd probably assume the Dr to multi-millionaires is maybe slightly better than the guy in the stands, if it was you you'd want the best care and it looks good for all entities if they get involved, performative or not.
