  1. 4-1-2-2-1 or 4-2-3-1 for me. Working well in season one. For the fella struggling to sign players - add a few extra quid onto their signing on fee, and that of their agent. A few recommendations of potential hidden gems - Amr Gamal is a good Egyptian striker (not first choice but useful); Frederico Venancio is a quality central defender and easy to get if he's still at Setubal; Necip Uysal has been a great defensive midfielder for me; Charlie Taylor at Leeds is a quality left back; Denis Zakaria is another good central midfielder; and finally not really a secret but Thiago Maia is class.
  2. Nice choice mate. A refreshing change from all the Acuras!
  3. 2008 - 52 plate VW Polo 2009 - 59 plate Nissan Qashqai 2011 - 61 plate Alfa Romeo Giulietta 2014 - 1-year old Ford Escape (Kuga) in Canada 2016 - 10 plate BMW 3-series estate 2017 - 17 plate Porsche Macan S Seems like when my career is going well, the first thing I do is sink some cash into a car. When it's not, I sink what I have into a car.
  4. I think we only tend to have a day of mourning when a monarch dies.
  5. I've currently got a 2010 3-series, and it became a victim of Storm Doris. The ECU is housed in something that has a tiny drainage hole, and quite often they get clogged up. When we had all that rain mine filled up and the ECU got fried. Cost me a fortune to replace it. You'd think that it'd be a consideration when building a car that the computer bit doesn't get wet. Apparently not...
  6. The tabloids would've had an absolute field day with that!
  7. That's what I really wanted. Car seat, etc, blah, blah.
  8. I knew someone would pick me up on that! I just prefer it to the word "pushchair". Just makes me think of wheelchair.
  9. Needs to be enough room for my ego too though. Don't you know who I think I am?!
  10. It's all good. I know it's not "hate", and that the car's a bit Marmite. We thought about an F-Pace, then a GLC but I wanted the Coupé and there's just not enough space in the back, and in the end I've always wanted a Porsche so that was what won it. My best pal has got an X5 so that was off the list, and I've just never seen myself as an Audi driver. Range Rover Sport is too big for me, and the Evoque is everywhere. I'm going a long way to explain an early-onset midlife crisis here aren't I?!
  11. She'll be alright. We keep her in the boot, so with everything else in there she can't slide about too much.
  12. Crikey Moses! Wasn't expecting the hate levels to be in the red! To be honest, I've always wanted a Porsche and never been able to afford one. The business is going well so we're able to run it through that. I needed something big enough for the nipper, her stroller, luggage etc and just felt I see so many Range Rovers, Audis, BMWs etc on the road that I wanted something different. The reviews on the Macan all agree that it handles like a Porsche but has the benefit of being a nice, honest, family car. Goes like stink for the size of car too.
  13. Just ordered one of these, but with the glass roof and black roof rails. Got 21" 911 Turbo alloys rather than these black numbers too. Going to be a long 12 weeks waiting for delivery.
  14. All about Guidetti if you need a striker. I seem to sign him every time and he never fails. He's even scoring free kicks.
  15. I know a couple of folks who have managed to get the Stamp Duty paid by the builder. You can get mortgage deposit contributions too. Also, the Government's Help To Buy scheme supports people buying a new build, even if you're not a first time buyer so that might help you budget or even spend a bit extra. One thing to look out for is whether you're getting a leasehold or not. The freehold is often offered but as they're typically 999 years people initially turn it down to save a few quid. Some of the building companies have then been selling on the freehold to a third party, so the homeowner is kippered when they want to buy it and have total ownership of the property. The new-builds catching house buyers in a leasehold property trap
  16. It's social media. There's so much noise that if something isn't best or worst then it doesn't cut through. If it's just ordinary then it doesn't get likes, or retweets. And if your content is ordinary then you're ordinary. And who wants to be ordinary on social media where we can be anything we want?
  17. I've done it mate. Interesting topic, and best of luck to your (presumably) better half.
