  1. Across British politics I've noticed a sharp increase in the use of the "Vigorous Nod" proliferated by Farridge. PR "gurus" everywhere have noted its efficacy and trained all the simpering monkeys to adopt it post haste.
  2. Is it my imagination or is this bell end just marching on the spot here?
  3. I would have guessed they'd moved the money around the budget to pay for stuff like beds and medicine, so I'd honestly be interested to know what rubbish it was wasted on instead.
  4. With news still emerging of a "ransomware" attack on the systems of the NHS, and something similar happening to Telefonica and other Spanish companies today, it seems that cyber-related issues are becoming a growing problem. Whilst the above cases could have occurred accidentally rather than being targeted, if you look at the suggestions around Russian interference in the US election, the ability of some companies to make realistic social media "bots" who will push particular rhetoric (it's been claimed this may have influenced the results of the EU referendum and the US vote) and WikiLeaks - is cyber warfare now becoming a major player in global politics / life in general? Or is it just the latest media focus?
  5. And now there's a massive cyber-attack on the NHS... You click on something you shouldn't have whilst using the wifi?
  6. It's like when Vanessa Feltz had a breakdown on Celebrity Big Brother. He's genuinely not well.
  7. I started a diet of sorts just over a week ago. I've put on about a stone since I got married, and I hate it. Since becoming a Dad though, I just got into convenience eating. Bad news. I'm 38 now, 178cm and weighing in at 85.7kg (sorry for the cm and kg, I'm a Remain voter). I was around 78kg when I got married in June 2014. I've started going to the gym three times per week, where it's all kettle bells, battle ropes and circuits. Hard work! I'm basically following a plan of a palm sized portion of protein, cupped hands of vegetables (no sniggering at the back!) and a fist sized portion of carbs. Lunch and dinner is going well, but breakfasts are difficult. I'm getting a bit bored of eggs too! I'm trying not to snack at all, but rather than previously where I'd have pounced on some crisps or toast I'm having fruit. I'm still having the occasional beer, but I'm hopeful I'll be able to lose the weight. My initial target is to be at 81.7kg by July 1st when I go on holiday. See how we get on with that. I think one of my biggest challenges is that I'm not that fat, so I can find it easy to think "it doesn't matter", but the truth is that I put off taking my little girl swimming for absolutely months because I didn't want to be seen in shorts and no top. I used to live with someone who had a broken relationship with food, and I had a broken relationship with her, and deep down I know it's had a knock on effect with me. I like to eat what I want, within reason, but I get incredibly guilty and depressed if I feel I've eaten badly. I've written enough here though so I'll save the details for another post.
  8. Nah, no way. I've seen no evidence of him being a thug. He's tough, but he's not Luis Suarez. It's like someone combined Paul McGrath and Shaun Teale into one player.
  9. We honeymooned in Mykonos. A business associate told me she had a house there we could use. When we got there it turned out to be a multi-million pound villa with views out across the bay and Mykonos town. Infinity pool, the lot. It was like the set of a hip hop video! I honestly couldn't tell you loads about the island beyond Megalochori as we were flat out planning the wedding, having the wedding, and recovering from the wedding. Dunno if you'd want to go to Santorini just for a beach day though. You really want to look around and take it all in. It's so, so beautiful.
  10. Congrats! Here's a heads up, but feel free to DM me and we can have a natter and not balls up this thread! We used a wedding planner and started off with a package which we then amended to our needs. Initially we liked the look of it being beautiful, great weather, and better value but a few months before the wedding I accepted a role in Canada so the whole thing became a farewell party as well as a wedding and, to be honest, we went absolutely apeshit with it! We had a lounge/dancefloor built on the beach for the day, we had a DJ and a live band, we put on a free bar for a few hours, we flew a photographer and film crew in from London, we stayed in a mediaeval villa... It was pretty extravagant, but the message here is that it's really easy to keep adding things to your wedding. So the price of the package is great, but it'll all depend on what you and your good lady (or fella!) want. Also some things are harder to get. The Mrs wanted Photo Booth thing setting up, but there just weren't any on the island. The flip side is that the accommodation and travel for all our guests was way more affordable than many of the other locations. We used a company called Ionian Weddings based down in Richmond. They were superb. They've won multiple awards for what they do, and are really competitive too. We went down to meet them, but in reality we didn't need to and everything was managed by phone and email until we got there when they had a planner on the ground for us. Here's their website for you CLICK HERE And here's the "music video" we had created for the day because, well, because I'm a dickhead and I like spending money I haven't got
  11. Didn't want to state the obvious! What was he, like 5'9"? Unreal.
  12. All great names, and for me he stands right up there with them.
  13. Apparently Sean Spicer last night hid in a bush outside the White House to avoid talking to reporters
  14. Sad. Could only name one of his tracks, but it was an absolute belter.
  15. We need to start having the conversation about whether there's ever been a better defender than Giorgio Chiellini too. Except for God, obv.
  16. Just came in to post that. I'm genuinely unsure of the whys and wherefores of this but it strikes as being bad.
  17. I'll be looking for something with maybe 2-4GB in the next few weeks. New car has got "wifi" so it'd be handy to have it available as and when we need it.
  18. I got married there 3 years ago this summer. It's absolutely stunning. The obvious places to go are Thira and Oia. The latter is where you'll find the blue domed rooftops in "that" picture. An insider tip is to visit Megalochori (that's where we stayed), and get something to eat at a restaurant called Feggera - http://www.feggera.gr/en/ It's in a great setting, and the food is all organic. Great wines too. Brangelina stayed in the village there too, when he was filming something or other. It's untouched, and doesn't attract the tourist hordes like Thira and Oia. You could probably do one of those two and grab a lunch at Feggera too. You'll score high on the romance chart with that place, trust me.
  19. Not exactly scored goals for fun in the Premier League, and he's 34 in September. He could be a useful signing, but evidence suggests he's very much in decline.
