  1. You could have just said that instead, tbf. "tbf" - another one I hate. Actually, "to be fair" - is that Brummie thing because I don't think I've ever heard that outside of Birmingham.
  2. Strange coincidence - just a few moments ago I replied to an office email circular (inviting people to a pub leaving do - with food), with the words "Deep fried meat platter FTW". I got deluged with replies from people who didn't know what FTW meant. I expected better from you.
  3. "FTW" or "FTL". Unless you're 15, or have mild learning difficulties, then I can't see why on earth you'd use these. They don't make a point very well and they're not funny either.
  4. Agree with that. It was definitely Collin's fault for the first (well, more so than Dunne's anyway).
  5. I'm sure a stat flicked up on the live stream that said we had 17 shots on target
  6. It's worse knowing that you're never going to have sex with them. Ever. On the other hand, think of all the mingers you see that you're never going to have sex with either. What are you trying to say!? Every cloud has a silver lining. I thought you were implying that I wasn't capable of pulling neither the attractive girls nor the mingers. You'd probably be right.

  8. It's worse knowing that you're never going to have sex with them. Ever.
  9. Invite them in for a cup of tea and a hand job. Sounds good. Does anyone wanna extract information from me?
  10. Ah, come on now. You wouldn't say that if you lived here and knew how awesome it was. True that is
  11. Just out of interest, what are your thoughts on buying one of the retro kits like the two posters below you? That way, you're still putting the money that you were going to spend into the club, but you're not letting those clowns Nike have any of it.
  12. So do you prefer her tubby rather than how she used to look? Really?!
  13. Another example of this is the Ajax squad of 1995. How many of their players were picked off within a season or two of them winning the Champions League? Kluivert, Overmars, Davids, Seedorf, Reiziger. That's just off the top of my head. Any more?
  14. What about Rob/rjw63? Over 53,000 posts (posted under his new and old username)
  15. Here's the graph in a lot more depth.
  16. I'd boo the little turd and then throw my chequebook at him (as it's clearly something he needs to manage a football club).
  17. I've just finished reading... Not the life changing book some people claim it to be, but thought provoking nonetheless.
  18. So beating Scarborough, York, Ipswich, Wimbledon, Boro and a United team containing Thornley, O'Kane, Casper and Clegg is more impressive than winning the UEFA cup by beating Olympiacos, Roma, Porto, Alaves and a Barca team containing the likes of Overmars, Rivaldo, Kluivert, Puyol & De Boer. I think you're really clutching at straws.
  19. It's ridiculous to say that Houllier wasn't the best manager available, but then not be able to, at the very least, suggest one or two names who you think we could have gotten. Nobody is expecting you to name every manager in World football, but at least make some suggestions. For two avid football fans who have thousands and thousands of posts between you on a football forum, I'm surprised you can't apply a bit of knowledge and logic to suggest a few names. Here you go, I'll make it easier: We can't go for the top tier managers - so rule out Mourniho, Hiddink, Del Bosque & Co. Now, I'm sure we probably couldn't attract a manager who is not necessairly in that top group, but whose side is currently in the CL - so rule out Jol, Redknapp, Emery (Valencia), Mclaren and so on. I guess you could be thinking managers of national European sides - so perhaps people like Bilic (Croatia), Advocaat (Russia), Quieroz (Portugal), Antic (Serbia) and so on. Or how about European based managers whose teams are in the Europa League cup (although as we're not in this competition I think it would be hard to attract a manager whose current team is), but here's some names anyway....Flores (Atletico), Rutten (PSV), Mazzari (Napoli), Stuttgart (Gross), Garrido (Villarreal). Now, simply apply some logic and think about their success as a manager, who they currently manage, whether you think they'd be willing to leave their current team and pick out a few names. In my opinion, apart from the top, top managers - there's hardly any names there (and I've picked out managers from some top clubs) whose trophy haul/experience/knowledge and so forth stands up to that of Houllier's.
  20. I haven't got a clue. I lent towards Jol but knew it was unlikely given - Ajax's CL qualification, Ajax's giving into his demands re. players, and the sheer cost of his contract (circa £8m). I'm not sure what that matters though. Because I couldn't think of anyone I would have liked, which says more about quite how much I know of managers on the continent/the lack of thought of I've given it, means I have to like having Houllier? Not sure that follows. Look, I said when we had him, he was the best of the bad bunch we seemed to have placed as front runners. I don't think that necessarily means he's also the best we could have gotten, regardless of me personally being unable to name all the managers in the world that were attainable and better. Chindie, I didn't say you have to like having Houllier. What I would like to know is how do you know he's not the best we could have gotten when you can't even name one or two names who, and this would be in your opinion of course, are attainable and better. Jol was your choice, but as we all know, we had no chance of getting him. That's probably the same for any other manager whose team qualified for this year's CL. I think that we're currently in a tricky situation i.e. we're not there yet to attract the real top quality managers, but we need to ensure we're attracting managers with some sort of pedigree and a CV which can display a reasonable element of recent and/or past success. (Houllier, for example)
  21. Well it isn't my job to hire the manger or know the state of all the managers in all the leagues in the world but I daresay we could have found someone from a league somewhere who is performing well and would be worth giving a go, who brings something new to the table. But, who would YOU have liked us to go for? (obviously discounting the likes of Ferguson, Wenger, Hiddink etc).
  22. It clearly doesn't stretch as far as managers either given the fact that Gerard Houllier was already employed by the FFF.
  23. I'm glad we made an approach for Jol, as I consider him to be a great manager, but fair enough if he wanted to stay at Ajax. I think if they hadn't made the CL then it would have been a different story. Never mind.
