    So we have found a bit of money to hold onto one of our players. Some positive news instead of the negative stuff that has been throw at us since the playoffs. John Terry, Snodders, Jack, Hourihane, Lansbury and Chester are among those that have reacted positively to the news according to The Birmingham Mail.

    Forest have signed Dawson. The Irish Messi is now free to finally sign for us though having run out his Norwich contract.

    We should have tried to put one on him and on most of those players that left us when we were relegated but the buying club are naturally reluctant to have one and I guess we wanted to get rid for any reasonable fee so didn't think ahead and insist on one in case that cost us the deal. That said I don't know for sure that we don't have one in this case.

    Hoping for some teams we can take points off early doors to build some confidence and momentum. Reading at home would be a nice one to start with.

    On Sky Sports News they claim "Villa tried and failed to persuade Grealish to sign a new contract last season" where have they got that information from then?It seems they are busy helping to try to justify low bids for our player?

    If another club is after Jack they will probably just match Levy's bid and leave the decision for Jack to make in the assumption that we are that desperate to sell our best player

    I'm yet to be convinced that we will have any money other than possibly enough to pay the wages of a couple of loan/free transfer players after we have sold the likes of Jack, Chester and Kodjia although the recent E & S report has now given me some hope. I hope your view of our situation proves to be the right one. I will be happy to have been proved too negative over the last few days.

    If that is accurate then things are looking a lot more positive than I had feared but I want to see things happening like bringing in a couple of free transfer/loan players and holding on to Jack, Kodjia and Chester (or at the very least not selling them for peanuts) before I believe the garden is looking a little more rosy than it did last week.

    Perhaps it is a two year contract he wants from us and we were looking to offer him another year only? Perhaps we don't even have the money available to offer him the lower salary that he wants?

    It took us long enough to get rid of Deadly so I'd rather not have him or his grandson anywhere near the helm. Perhaps HDE could give a few million of what he pocketed when selling the club to Randy back in our hour of need?

    Apparently playing at Walsall because of our pitch not being ready for the West Ham game. Has the work been delayed for some reason?

    If Bruce goes then I doubt we have the money to employ anyone that is not already employed by the club. Most potential managers would see joining us as similar to taking over as captain of The Titanic after it had not the iceberg. The best we might possibly be able to do is to ask someone like Brian Little to do it for a couple of months on a caretaker basis.

    Where that is the case it usually is. Nice rumour though. Chelsea might loan him to us for the next ten years they make a habit of loaning out players season after season after all.

    Hasn't wanted to be here for some time now (like others) at least we got some money back for him which at the moment is crucial.

    Agreed but his transfer fee would take a hit as he would only have a year left on his contract next summer and money rather than footballing reasons are taking precedence at our football club presently.

    At least he will be playing for the money unlike some others at the club who have taken millions in wages for nothing or next to nothing. He might well shine at the World Cup and attract a bid that suits the club and himself. If not, we will at least have one player left next season who we can rely upon.

    I would far rather keep him than sell him. Without him and JT we will have a massive hole to fill in the centre of our defence but he is our second most saleable asset so I guess will have to go for financial reasons if a decent bid is made.

    If Chester goes and there is a chance he will stay then Jack is the obvious choice.. If not, we will have to see who we have left by August and get them to draw straws.
