  1. I like Bradley (and his son is a terrific player) but Jol is the only one who would leave me feeling as happy as I was under MON.
  2. I agree, if he is going to go, we want big money. £20 million is about par I reckon - which means you can add another £10 million on for Man City just for being who they are...
  3. I don't think Small Heath did themselves any favours by the fact they were so pumped up, they were in the referees face right from the first whistle. I seem to remember them going apeshit about a disputed throw in early on. Not saying that it could or should have made any difference mind.
  4. Fair play to our club for at least doing it in the first place - think it was a great gesture, but fully understand why they want to generate some cash with a sponsor now.
  5. A tad OTT there Rich! A tad OTT, but I kind of agree with him I would certainly want 30-35 million for Milner. You are looking at one of the best young centre mids out there who is only going to get better. Let's face it, how much would Arsenal want for Fabregas?
  6. on the contrary, Villas topdogs were courting Chartered Standard to sponsor them, as they are desperate for a sponsor - theyll drop Acorns like a stone........ How do you know this? I have a friend at BA who also said that Villa were touting round them for a sponsor...
  7. For my money, O'Neill got the selection wrong last night. Heskey is not a right winger and Beye doesn't convince me - I can understand he wants to take things gently with Luke Young perhaps. Last night showed how much we miss Milner's energy and ability to create space for others to work with - it was no surprise that both their goals came from the right hand side. Sidwell must be close to borrowed time now - I actually think he plays better in a 4-5-1 when he is allowed to roam forward a bit more, but Parker got the better of him last night. I wonder if Downing could give us guile in the centre of the park when he is fit. The whole thing felt a bit disjointed last night - even our fans were a bit muted I thought. Certainly not a disaster, but I would hope there is a bit of head scratching going on in Bodymoor Heath today.
  8. Do you know what though to a certain extent I feel sorry for the Rooney's in this regard - no matter what they called their kid they would have been accused of being 'chavs' or 'council estate' or something. It's like Rooney is more articulate than he is given credit for. I do have a problem with the term chav in general though - too often it is used to castigate something that is 'working class' and therefore to be looked down on.
  9. What, after NRC had been subbed following Friedel's red card?
  10. James Milner has no friends in the world except his pet kestrel Kes.
  11. When James was a small boy, he once dribbled a pig's bladder in and out of the queen mother's teeth (everyone used to leave their mouths open in them days).
  12. James Milner drives a Hillman Imp and once, when driving it, he did a fart so stinky it caused his pet monkey to be violently sick.
  13. Connell I think you look a little like a young Martin O'Neill...
  14. Do you mean the Dingles?????/ No. Wolves. Real Wolves.
  15. I was raised by Wolves.
  16. I still think the best Ashley Young chant is 'Ashley Young on the left hand side' to the tune of pass the dutchie
  17. Stretch out and Wait is currently my favourite Smiths song...
  18. that link needs fixing, didier. Thanks mate, should be fixed now. Here is the article anyhow...from guardian.co.uk:
  19. I think you are right. I think that God's playing ability alone holds him in high esteem amongst most fans, and the fact that he has had to battle such demons and is dealing with the fragilities that many have to has meant he will always be held in affection by a large number of football followers.
  20. Morley looks as lean as ever. I still reckon he would be a tidy player.
  21. Not a bad shout actually. Might go some way to dissipating the anger up there. Although as long as Wise is about, I don't think too many are going to be keen on the job.
