  1. Fulham away for Djemba Djemba's Villa debut. I was there.
  2. Yeah I am not a season ticket holder - live in London - but I always try and make a few games at home and the London away games in a season. Now my kids are getting older, I try and bring them up to Villa Park now and again. After McLeish was appointed I vowed not to go back to Villa Park, but did venture to White Hart Lane to witness the debacle that was the 'Hutton-Heskey' midfield. That was enough for me not to spend anymore money on Villa for the time being.
  3. Has the club given any indication on what season ticket uptake is like. Nope. But umours abound that theyve taken a "haircut" of 10k or more. Reports of only 4k sold.
  4. Lambert is a pupil of Hitzfeld. Whoever gets him if /when he decides to leave Norwich will be getting a manager with bags of potential.
  5. I wouldn't be unhappy with the likes of Martinez, Lambert or Chris Hughton. I think probably the best 'fit' for Villa is Lambert...
  6. Does anyone know if this is true and if so why? Too pissed? Fighting? Lairy? All of the above?
  7. Why would you think we need a point to be safe ? you really think QPR will get 4 points in the last 2 games ? I would like to think not, but I think it is not beyond the realms of possibility that they could beat Stoke and draw with Man City (who may have lost the title by then and have little to play for).
  8. Can't see anything other than us getting beat by Spurs. Think it will still come down to the last day and we will need a point against Norwich to be safe. Let's hope they are all 'on the beach' by then.
  9. Absolutely. And I don't think anyone should castigate anyone for giving too much/too little/not giving at all. It is up to the individual.
  10. I find his relentless criticism of the fans bizarre. I genuinely don't think we moan or wail anymore than any other set of fans by and large. And as has been said, McLeish has had bugger all abuse thrown his way until Bolton .
  11. Just so you know - Twente's keeper Niki Mihaaylov is Bulgarian (hence the gesture).
  12. FC Twente players all wore 'Petrov 19' shirts ahead of their game with Ajax today - 'Keep fighting Stan' was written on the front. Lovely gesture.
  13. Absolutely brilliant save by Hutton. He is undoubtedly much better with his hands than his feet. Not sure about McLeish's tactic of playing with two 'keepers - it is innovative for sure, but perhaps too negative?
  14. Personally it is that bloke at Real Madrid or the ghost of Bill Shankly for me.
  15. Yes.. nice to see some of the players contribute as well - I am sure there will be more from players and fans alike.
  16. Mods feel free to move this if it isnt in the right place, but I see one of the Villa masseurs is doing a 'pedal for Petrov' to help raise funds for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Definitely worth donating if you can - he is cycling from Celtic Park to Villa Park: Pedal for Petrov
  17. McLeish is a goner that is pretty clear. Let's hope the damage he is able to inflict is kept to a minimum. What really worries me now is that prat Faulkner will remain. He HAS to go too.
  18. Villa have just released a statement - to paraphrase - we are all hurting and we are sticking by the manager.
  19. Read this. Any of it sound familiar?BBC Sport last year
  20. If you read the article in full I would say there is quite a bit of criticism of the club.
  21. Bulgaria fans are meeting at the Vassil Levski National Stadium in Sofia tonight to show their support for Stan - meeting at 19h 19 minutes on the 19th.
  22. If McLeish sends us down then I think their hand is forced. Otherwise I think they (RL + PF) are determined to carry on regardless. You can't fault them for sheer bloodymindedness - otherwise they wouldn't have appointed him in the first place I suppose.
